front porch nightmare..clusters to the rescue. my wife and i went to the front porch for dinner and after waiting 45 minutes for our drinks, we paid the bill and left for clusters & hops. the service was outstanding! we were made to feel welcome, and when we told our server of our disappointment with front porch, said nothing but nice things. i could tell internally he agreed with us, but was respectful. i was extremely impressed. our food was prompt, well cooked, perfectly seasoned and yummy! i love the fact that the walls & racks is the wine list. we were able to walk around and find a bottle we were interested in. our server was taking care of another table, but a different one immediately come over and helped us. they were all so knowledgeable and eager to help.
i knew we should have just come here and not wasted an hour, and the "valet" parking, and just come to clusters!

holy truffle oil!!!. my wife and i went in on a tuesday to try it out and see what all of the fuss was about. they were not busy for the wait that we received for our food. maybe 6 people in the place. wine was good. good selection for such a small market. i had the "angus mackie" and it had wayyyyy to much truffle oil on it. i knew that the sandwich was going to be very rich but damn. at least serve it with something acidic other than the horseradish to cut the fat of the oil and the mac and cheese. my wife had the "melted mozzarella focaccia sandwich" and she said that it was ok at best and didn't understand the wait for what we ordered. probably won't be going back which sucks because i really wanted to like this place. if anything i'll go back for the market selection of wines.

a nice surprise.. great little place. very small, maybe 8 tables.
no reservations taken so you need to just wing it. we sat at the bar for 20 mins or so waiting for a table.
wine list is substantial, staff seem to even know what the wines are. that's a change.
food does take some time to arrive, but it was worth the wait. loved the cheese sampler, our main course was very good. i had the pork, wife chose the tuna.
very intimate setting, loved the ambiance. would definitely return. only negative we could think of was try not to take the table next to the kitchen. it's very hot. we had to retire back to the bar once dinner was over.

worth it!!! in all of my 12 years of living here, this restaurant was hands-down one of the best i've been to in tallahassee! no exaggeration. the atmosphere was relaxed but romantic, the service was excellent and the food was remarkable! started off with a cheese and wine appetizer for one which ended up still being enough for two people and a 4 year old. the ostrich and duck filets were tender and flavored to a "t." 3 drinks, 1 appetizer and 3 entrees came to about $90. that may be a little pricey for some but i was fine with it because the quality was superb. will be making a return trip.

the staff was incredibly rude. they ignored us while we waited 30 minutes for a table. we finally sat at the bar where they continued to ignore us. we left. ridiculous.

simply outstanding! their food is of the highest quality and just straight-up delicious. i'm a sucker for gourmet burgers and their blue cheese kobe beef sliders topped with caramelized onions and foie gras is one of the best incarnations of a hamburger i've ever had. in addition other dishes i've had here from the cheese board to the the truffle mac & cheese has been superb. i can't wait to return!

i'd been here once before with my step-dad while he was in town & we were both in unspoken agreement that it was the best restaurant either of us had eaten at in tallahassee upon our first bites & sips...

very small, wine/cheese shop integrated, fine dining wine bar.. great service from both servers i've had, although their demeanors don't seem as refined as the restaurant concept. water & wine always tended to, sliders on my first visit were cooked perfectly with delicious foie gras & dessert, dark lightning, great specials..

my second visit last night when i ate solo at their only outside table featured two glasses of pinot noir from california at $9 a glass (forgot to note the name) to accompany their perfectly-medium-rare herb & espresso crusted filet mignon medallions (black truffle maytag blue cheese, roasted 'parm' potatoes, wild mushrooms & cognac carmelized onions $24.00)... i will most definitely be returning to treat myself again :)

one of the better gourmet restaurants in tallahassee, some very unusual menu items. great wine selection, good service and lovely food, but be aware it is very small so you definitely want to make a reservation.

cozy delicious elegant gourmet experience every time. tallahassee offers a few fine dining choices. however, when we want to relax in a charming bistro where fabulous menu meets dazzling wine selection, there's just no place like clusters and hops. count on their welcoming expertise to help guide toward a memorable wine pairing, or select your own after browsing through endless varieties of wine (beer too) just steps from your table. (don't be surprised if you find irresistible deals to take home as well.)
the passion that chef/owner kent brings to his thoughtfully prepared dishes is reflected in his artful presentation and the obvious quality of consistently delicious food. well-informed servers are friendly and eager
to ensure a perfect meal. and don't miss out on one of their heavenly decadent desserts! clusters and hops is a uniquely enjoyable experience and wins us over for best overall value among the front-runners.

great food!. my husband and i went to clusters and hops for the first time this past week, and we were highly impressed with the atmosphere and the selection and quality of the food!! the baked focaccia bread was incredible, our entrees were well worth the price, and the wine was fantastic. our server was also very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, and we really felt that they did the best job they could to provide us a great experience.

my only complaint was the wait time. we got into the restaurant before the "dinner rush" so we got a table right away, though people who came in later were told there was a 2-hour wait time. the two severs present we continually having to apologize to customers for being "understaffed" (both in the kitchen and in the house) because things were running slowly. we got our drinks and our appetizers fairly quickly, but had to wait nearly an hour for our entrees, and we didn't have time to try the amazing sounding desserts like we had hoped to. it could have just been a rough night, though, and it didn't really taint our experience too much.

all that to say, if you have a good 2+ hours to enjoy your full meal (drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert), i definitely suggest dining at clusters and hops!! fantastic atmosphere and experience!!!

best food evarrr!!!. ok, perhaps i exaggerate but only by the slightest bit because the food here is mind meltingly awesome. we had the goat cheese, fig jam, and truffle oil sandwich and the truffle macaroni and cheese. i swear when i ate this sandwich, a heavenly chorus appeared. i don't usually like macaroni and cheese too much but on this day, i was a die hard fan. best mac n' cheese ever! this quiet little wine store, secluded next to a mattress shop, is officially my favorite restaurant in tallahassee
