what a sweet place in baltimore!. had no idea where we were inbaltimoreand were looking for a breakfast spot after an orioles game the night before. i had a thebaltimorebenedict, my god what a meal. everything is perfect at this place, sit outside smell the air and enjoy the food.

mid town delight. this review is a tad bit late but it was from my visit on 2/15/12. i was in town and we ended up here. the decor is simple but nice and it was not overly loud. we were seated in the area behind the bar. it is a small area and all of the tables were taken but it was not too hard to have a good conversation. we started with the calamari and spiced rubbed tuna. i thought the tuna was done wonderfully. the calamari and banana peppers was light and cooked well. not rubbery or oily. while i am not from this area my father and his ancestors have been inbaltimoresince the 1850s. my father passed along to me his maryland crab cake recipe. growing up on a river that provided all the blue crabs we wanted i am very used to eating crab cakes. with that being said i ordered the crab cakes. something i would suggest you not try down south for the most part because you will get some god awful bread junk. i was delighted by what was presented in front of me. the meat was fresh and well prepared and they tasted wonderful. it was refreshing to actually get something i grew up eating in a restaurant. i cannot attest to the other items on the menu but what i had was wonderful. not living inbaltimorei may not be back at this establishment for a while but based on what i had i would recommend and i will return upon my next visit. happy eating!

pleasant surprise on cathedral st.. went to city cafe for an early valentine's day dinner. frankly, everything was superb. this is what dining out should be! lamb chops appetizer was delicious, and is a must have. lobster mac and cheese was creamy and loaded with lobster. steak frites were done perfectly and extra flavorful.baltimoreclub sandwich was very good. dessert may have been the best of all, heath bar bread pudding and flourless chocolate cake were both home runs. based on the food, i would go back time and again. service was excellent and the manager even gave us little boxes of their signature mints. hooray for city cafe!

all good things, city cafe. while visiting some friends who live in dc and maryland, they recommended city café for a sunday brunch. with me being primarily vegetarian, their suggestion was a hit. the friend who took me had bagels with cream cheese, salmon and capers. they got it right. you would be surprised at how many places get it so very, very, very wrong. i had the tuscan omelette: omelet filled with mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, and cheese, served up with potatoes and wheat bread. that appealed to my vegetarian palate nicely. and then we ended with a flight of desserts: flour-less chocolate cake, creme broulette, bread pudding. don't ask me how we walked away from that restaurant without having taken a nap first. no more rushing tobaltimoreharbour for me. it's all about city café.
