highly recommend. you will not be disappointed. awesome friendly service with tasty mexican fair. many salsa choices too.

chubby’s tacos, the wildly popular fast-casual spot for tacos, burritos and quesadillas, does right by mexican food. whether you choose fish tacos (my favorite), steak fajita burrito or spicy carne asada nachos, satisfaction will always reign supreme. portion sizes are also impressive, particularly when it comes to the colossal burritos and the pressed-sandwich tortas. never mind the reasonable prices (tacos are $1.50-3 each; quesadilla grandes just $5.50).

amazing. i live 60 minutes from here but most every time i come into the big city i make time to stop here for some tacos - al pastor are my favorite!

very good fish tacos and burritos. i would eat there more often...items are on the pricy side. one very small soft taco was nearly $4.00! should have gotten two or a larger soft taco for the price.

bueno. a proper corn tortilla around excellent grilled tilapia. best mexican i've ever had this far north of the border.

what's all the fuss about??. oh...this place. hole in the wall...great food...lot of choices (for me) and the service....outstanding.

pictures do not do justice to the size of the taco. it was a frisbee folded in half and deep fried. but this taco isn't all size and no taste. the taco is spilling out of the shell with tasty chunks of ground angus beef, fresh lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. the strong crunch of the shell contrasts nicely with its soft, warm filling.

you can't get better than a couple taco's, and a lime soda. barbacoa and carnitas were excellent...

we both had the #1 three taco combo plus margaritas. they were out of frozen but the on the rocks versions sure hit the spot. the value and taste here are well above the normal fare. my fav was the tinga chicken - might be to spicey for some.

a bravo . everything good food ,prices,employees, and clean restaurant. a delight to visit. they give good portions on the plate. and parking is not a problem.

delicious food! shrimp tacos and carne asada tacos are flavourful yet banging and they have a salsa bar! it's a must try, go to restaurant.

a unique little dive that never disappoints as far as the food is concerned. the place could be a little tidier, but there is such a turn over of diners  that i'm sure it is hard to keep up with. the cost is very reasonable and the salsa bar is my favorite feature.

for my money, these are the best tacos in raleigh. relatively inexpensive, but not dirt cheap. make sure you check out the salsa bar and try each one. they also have cheerwine. only downside is that things get pretty crowded during lunch. be prepared to wait for a seat if going midday.

i love the food, my review is more about the recent price hikes. i believe the cheapest tacos have gone from 1.99 to 2.99, and my favorite, the chubbychanga - was raised from 3.75 to 4.99. a 33% price increase? that's ridiculous. i understand a little something about inflation, but a major part of the appeal of this place was the quality/value aspect. it's just not really there anymore.
