nom nom nom!! grilled fish, grilled chicken & steak fajitas are great with good portions! chips & salsa bar are flavorful. great hole in the wall for happy hour too! friendly staff.

great fish tacos. love this place for the fish and shrimp tacos! just wish they were more consistent with the amount of ingredients each time.

chubby’s menu features tacos at $2 and $3 ranging from barbacoa to grilled shrimp. try one of their delicious tacos on corn or wheat tortillas. their grilled tilapia taco is covered in a creamy sauce and spiked with onions, fantastic! or their tacos al pastor: pork marinated in pineapple juice, yum!

the best cheap mexican in the land of raleigh. great salsa bar.

this place is by far the best mexican place in this section of raliegh. plus, their salsa. bar is awesome!

yummy tacos. i used to go to chubby's for lunch quite frequently. the tacos are the main draw and they are certainly good. i appreciate the wide selection of salsas, which are also well made. the only time i've been disappointed was when straying from the tacos and getting a quesadilla, which was very greasy and heavy due to having way too much cheese.

tasty and fresh!. amazing food, great people. all of my friends and neighbors repeatedly told me that i needed to check out chubby's. i finally figured out what the buzz was about. everything on their menu is fresh and delicious - and their gucatillo is out of this world. i highly recommend that anyone in need of a quick, easy and delicious meal try chubby's.

can't beat the prices. i love love mexican food, and i also love an afforable dinner! this has become a tuesday night ritual for my husband and i - all of their tacos are so fresh tasting. and their margartias (esp the mango!)...

i went for the first time tonight. friday night. 8pm. packed. folks with thier kids, adults out for a fun night out- a very mixed festive crowd. i got the burrito special to go. it was served up fast, hot, and with a smile. i love this place.

this is absolutely my favorite restaurant ever! i always get 2 rice and bean tacos with gaucitillo salsa, which with chubby's homemade chips is phenomenal!

absolutely wonderful food & great prices! my only complaint is that there aren't enough tables for the huge crowds. consider getting takeout.

great mexican tacos. went to the chubby tacos in rtp and loved it. had a few of their tacos to sample what they had and loved every bite. the salsa bar had fresh cilantro which i really liked as i love cilantro in all my tacos. very affordable, friendly staff, and great service. definitely a regular lunch location for me.

chubby's in north raleigh!. my tacos were perfect. the carnitas taco was light and fresh with a nice balance of cilantro and lime juice. the shrimp taco was marvelous with the chipotle sour cream adding a nice counterpoint the shrimp and tomatoes. her imperial majesty's burrito was a massively over-stuffed thing that we - meaning both of us - could only manage to finish half. it was delicious with the spicy tinga nicely complemented by the crispy lettuce and the just wilted spinach. in retrospect, we probably should have approached it with a knife and fork.

just like the other locations, the food was well prepared, relatively cheap and quite tasty. service was swift. is it an asset to north raleigh? yes. is it a reason to visit north raleigh? only if our chubby's is closer than yours. will it make north raleigh fashionable? no, but it's a heck of a start.

good food and selection.. i had to update my original review of chubby's. originally i was quite pleased with the vegetarian selection. as time went on, however, i have found that the allure of this place has worn off. i've found that their vegetarian fillings are a bit oily for my taste and haven't been back in a while. when out in rtp i used to go to the chubby's out there, but now i go over to screaming coyote just across the street. i might go back to chubby's in the future to see i still feel the same, but then again i might not.
