chart house

very unhappy. we went to celebrate our anniversary, great table, lovely warm hostess and it went down hill from there. i do not know whay it takes 10 minutes to deliver a drink in a half full restaurant, sent back first drink, then second (how can you screw up jack on the rocks) and switched to beer. left second beer on table as it was delivered after i had finished my meal. food was ok but nothing i would go back for and no i did not go to salad bar. waitress offered to bring manager,i said no, i was so upset i just paid the bill and left

it is not the same restaurant it was a few years ago. our service was quite slow, and i couldn't finish my meal because the tenderloin medallions were soggy.

great food. i've always had good visits to ch, it seems many people on here have not. i wish i could afford to go there more often, but since i am a college student, i cannot. i would say i've been there atleast 6 times in the last year, and the service was great each time. love the stuffed mushrooms. yum!

good view and service. i have gone to the chart house for special occasions and have never been disappointed. we were seated in a reasonable amount of time, had an excellent view of the potomac and the boats cruising around and found the food to be excellent. all in all, a good time was found for all. joan m. cowley

don't waste your money!. the food quality has gone down, down, down. went there last year for our anniversary. what a terrible mistake that was. the steak was dry and over-cooked, the lobster also over-cooked. expensive! you don't mind expense if the food and service are top drawer but this didn't even come close. even the key lime pie has gone down hill. and for sure, don't ever consider thanksgiving at the chart house. terrible food! management has really let this place run down when it comes to the food and the service. there are so many other places that have fine dining and you don't feel cheated when you pay the bill.

great views, excellent food. i go here almost every time i go to washington. the food quality is consistent, service is good, and one of the best views of the potomac from a restaurant in the city. it is very popular, so make a reservation.

when you want seafood the only place to go is the chart house. the fried asaragus was wonderful. the macadamia nut mahimahi was excellent and view is unbeatable.

basic steak/seafood house. i've been to the chart house a few times for lunch and yet i can't think of any remarkable memories from it. (although the bathroom was gorgeous and very clean!)
i think the biggest draw for going here is the potomac river view - be sure to ask for that if you're interested, since not all tables have the view.
very traditional and attentive service staff. large menu with all the basics. whatever i had (probably a sandwich or salad) was good but not particularly remarkable. like i said, go for the view not the food.

great food & great atmosphere service was good (slow weeknight), and the food was as good as the ambience. will come back.

don't bother. save your money. overpriced, lacking in quality and taste, and just plain bad. the only bright side used to be a great salad bar and i don't know if that is still in the same condition or not.

great food, horrible service. the resteraunt reminds you of many on coastal towns both west and east coast. we had reservations and were promptly seated with a great view, a very attentive waiter, and got okay cocktails right away, but before we could order, a (manager ?)of some sort came to chat with a guy at the table that sat next to us as the couple was finishing their meal. this chick (manager?) stayed and chit chatted for no less than 25 minutes. the girlfriend that was at the table looked board out of her mind, the head manager cam buy to tap the chatty gal on the shoulder, but no one actually told her to move on. the whole thing was uncomfortable as this person stood right next to us through our starters and main. she finally left just as the waiter was trying to suggest desterts. for an expensive meal, i would rate the food good, the ambieance fair, the timing (i felt rushed although there were plenty of tables) poor and the service of the waiter good. we did tell the supervising manger (or what ever he was) as we were leaving, he was obtuse and pretended not to understand what we were talking about nor did he even pretent to care.

awesome experience. we got there at 10pm on a saturday and were greeted warmly and not rushed at all. we were promptly given a window seat upon request. the food and service were both excellent and for the food quality and ambiance the price was reasonable.

eh.... i just was not impressed with any aspect of this restaurant... the food was ok, the service was passable, the atmosphere reminded me of a club house.... just not the "fine dining" experience i anticipated.

food wasn't good, service not much better and overpriced. u can get great views all over- not worth it at all!
