anniversary. my hubby suprised me yesterday with reservations for 7:30. it was our 12 year anniversary and my accomplishment in graduating with my associates in science degree in criminal justice which i recieved in tampa florida on the 24th of july. i had asked him for almost two weeks, where are we going and kept teasing me. this was our first time here and we will be back, despite the price was extremly high but worth it.the food was excellent, the view was excellent. i really enjoyed myself with the fine dinning and our waiter was friendly and nice along with the other staff.

wonderful view of the potomac. chart house is right by the waterfront, and looks out to the potomac on both lower and upper level. the lower level is where the bar is located, while the upper level has a little nook where the entire wall is glass. sam and i decided to be spontaneous on a friday night and go to old towne alexandria; so did the weather that night. we watched the lightning above the potomac as we had our dinner by candle light.

i had ordered the bbq salmon with mashed potatoes and greens. sam had the mahi mahi. we shared a slice of key lime pie for dessert. it was a very good meal, with a great view. if you want to try chart house- i recommend visiting it during alexandria's restaurant week when participating restaurants including chart house has prix-fixe dinners at an extremely affordable 35$- either for a three course dinner or dinner for two (depending on the restaurant).

yes, it's a little pricey, but no more than any other high-end steak house. stuffed flounder was awesome and the filet mignon was as good as any i've ever had!

very nice atmosphere, very good service. the food was mediocre at best. the lobster and corn souffle was not a souffle, it was a flavorless pile of mush. the chef can't even make mashed potatoes, a little seasoning might help. the best thing is the lava cake.

wonderful place. my husband and i go here frequently when we want to celebrate. when my husband called for reservations in january 2011, they asked if this was a special occasion and he told them it was my birthday. when we arrived, we were presented with personalized menu's with the words, "happy birthday, gigi" imprinted on the top of the menus. what a wonderful surprise! we have never had a bad meal or bad experience at this restaurant. there is also not a bad seat in the house. the restaurant is round and all views face the waterway. my favorite appetizer is the crab, avocado, mango stack and the lobster bisque is my second one. i usually have the new york strip steak and it is always cooked to my preferred temperature, while my husband normally orders the prime rib. this is a great place to spoil yourself.

not worth the money. presentation was sub-par and the waiter was lacking cs skills. food was not bad but not worth the $160. however, if you are looking for a nice view to impress, this is the place.

decor is beautiful. service is nice. ambiance is terrific. food was so-so, at best. for the money, not worth it.

love the salad bar. my husband and i really like this place. it is on the water and i always have a quality meal here. i absolutely love the salad bar and the lava cake!!!

chart house is definitely high on the list of placed to revisit. prices are pretty high, but the quality of food is worth the price across the board. service and facilities were all top notch. they have an excellent assortment of fish and steak meals. appetizers, cocktails, and wine lists are full. beer is more limited, but still a great list. we'd reccommend it to anyone in the area!

great family dinner. this restaurant was a great and fun experience. the waiter was very impressive and timely. i had the macadamia nut mahi and it was fluffy and legit. the draft beer was a little over priced and the lava cake was beyond delicious. make sure you bring your wallet. i recommend this place before sunset for the great view.

somewhat ok. brunch menu was ok. nothing spectacular. good view of the water. waiter was sleepy, but i guess that is expected on new years

if your in monterey and love seafood and 5 diamond ambiance, you must eat here. one of thd greatest food experiences ive ever had. superb high class food and service. thd view is amazing!

you pay for the view. food is good enough.

great food with a wonderful view. stay away from the lobster and crab rolls. they sound great but disappoint. don't be araid of the prime rib. overall an 8.

great view,good food, bad service. the charthouse has a wide selection of food ranging from seafood to steaks. the food was served to order, and it was also served at the perfect temperature. the service was very slow, at one point we ordered food that was forgotten and our server was very bad at drink refills and he was just never there to check on us. the charthouse is a great restaurant if you want to have a great view of the water way but in terms of service and price it was not worth it. the service was slow and that ruined the whole atmosphere of the restaurant.
