always enjoy our dinners at charthouse. i enjoyed my snapper hemingway and my husband always gets the teriyaki medallions. appetizer of the stuffed mushrooms was really good too. we also ordered the lava cake dessert which is totally worth it!! it is a made from scratch chocolate cake with melted chocolate center. yummy! in saying how much we love it, i do think it is a bit over priced and we only stop in once a trip.

always.a great dining pleasure. we' ve been here on several occasions but not in the last couple of years. so my wife and i decided on the chart house for our recent anniversary dinner. they did not disappoint us. my wife had the salad bar ( always a great choice ) and the romano chicken and she loved it. i had the salad bar and a remarkable spicey ahi tuna and cooked just the way i like it. both entrees were wonderfully presented too. our server gio was terrific and very attentive. next time i won't wait so long to get back to the chart house...

filet was cooked (warmed really) perfectly. the blue crab filled prawns were very good. essentially a tiny crabcake in a little shrimp bowl. the scallots were very good considering i don't like them normally. the lava cake was worthy. and my duaghter ate all her coconut shrimp before i had a chance to steal any...ingrate!

a true dissapointment. the level of food quality and presentation did not match the price. the food was just ok, and i expected excellent for the price. i would not return unless they hired a new chef that could do the great menu plan some justice. good service and pretty view otherwise.

went there last night for a birthday dinner. server was great & attentive. we were seated with a great view of the evening bay lights. oysters rockafeller appetizers were piping hot & delicious. i had the shrimp & artichoke pasta special; hubby had the roasted beet salad, lobster & filet medallion special; friend had prime rib. all were wonderful entrees. it was a great evening & would go back there again.

reasonable experience. while the restaurant appear adequately staffed it took over ten minutes for someone to approach our table, then another ten minutes to get a drink before we were allowed to order.

if this could be improved on i would rate my experience higher

the ambiance is really nice. there is a bit of choreographed sales pitch. however they make up for it with good service and excellent food.

marina del rey
food not worth a repeat performance. the chart house in marina del rey is in a beautiful setting overlooking the marina. it is appealing inside with a friendly staff. that's where it ended for us and 6 guests celebrating our granddaughter's birthday. on the positive, they mentioned her birthday at the top of the menu. overall, this rating is given for taking so long to deliver the food and the quality of the food was not very good. one liners: they placed 2 small baskets of rolls/crackers on the table that were not fresh and did not refill them when empty (we were hungry so ate them since it took them so long to deliver the hors'd's). the hors'd's (artichokes were soggy and we know artichokes, the hummus on the tray did not taste fresh along with stale pita bread). now we get to the main meal - salads: i had the chopped salad which was limp with hardly any salad dressing and others had the ceasar salad they said the dressing wasn't that good; my husband had the sampler meal and he said it was terrible - i had the prime rib that was like eating rubber along with the baked potato (how can you mess up a baked potato - well they know how). the mushrooms were very good as was the water. i had read former blogs where they were slow to serve but thought it may have been a bad day for the staff. this meal took 3, yes, three hours to serve and finish the meal and we had a limo with it's meter ticking. i had requested window seating as the guests are not from the beach area. they were not busy when we arrived at 6:00 pm and the host said he got the next best location - behind the first row of tables. this disappointing evening cost almost $900 - we will take our money elsewhere in the future!

when you come here, ask for todd to be your server. he is funny, knowledgeable, and just down right awesome.

solid choice. we have been to this restaurant over a dozen times since 1998.

we had only one so so experience and they made it right.

food has always been good to superb. service has always been superb. atmosphere is always energetic and the place is busy. can be a bit noisy.

i recommend this place - we keep going back.

hideous. i must tell you about our experience. we called for reservations 3 weeks prior, specifically asking for a table at the window. we were told that it wouldnt be a problem. we arrived, only to be told that we would have to wait an additional 1/2 hour to 1 hour for a window table, but "all our tables are close to windows". we were seated on the other side of the dining room across from any windows. the server was not professional. all the tables but ours had bread - we had to ask 4 times for bread. drinks went unfilled often. gazspacho was barely passable - more like canned soup with some cucumbers thrown in. where was the sour cream? gazspacho is typically made with bread and some sherry. nowhere in this one. my crusted mahi, for which i paid $37, was horrible. tasteless. the risotto was like wallpaper paste. one spear of asparagus? are you kidding? one of my partners ordered the filet medallions oscar medium rare - it came medium well, but of course our server didn't come back for 15 minutes, so there was no way to tell him. final straw - my cheesecake was inedible - it was old and pasty - like it had been left out to dry out. it had that texture. for $200, i expect far more than the junky service and food i got. i am thoroughly disappointed and will not return.

i had prime rib and my wife had a filet. both very good. chocolate lava cake for dessert was outstanding, so save some room. chopped spinach salad was nice too. and, make sure to ask for a window seat. great view of monterey bay.
