no bar?. eating at charlie brown's is like eating in an old english college library. weird. the hot peppercheesebites are amazing. the beer prices (and especially mixed drink pitcher prices, i noticed) are fine. but where is the draft beer? that's crazy. i guess they know beer trappe across the street has that covered. oh well.

great burgers, different atmosphere. ok, it's a really different place: dark. can barely read the menu. but, it's a really neat spot for drinks and some of the better burgers put on a plate. they cook them to order and medium keeps them very juicy. my black & blue burger had nice spice with a creamy salty bluecheesesauce. fries are real potatoes and good. the southwest burger was better without the salsa (we ordered it on the side and ended up not using it) as the flavors of the meat andcheeseneeded nothing else. there are no beers on draft, but they have a good bottle and can selection. cocktails seem popular. service is a little spotty. we were forgotten about twice as our server had a table outside and seemed to prefer it there. wouldn't keep me from going back though.

a staple of the chevy chase area. a lot of people have mentioned it before and it's true, probably the coolest hangout eatery in lexington. the couches, the dim lighting, the books covering the walls, it's original and no one else will ever duplicate this place.

now let's talk about their food. it has it's hits and misses but if you stick to the greasy foods you'll be pleased. the biggest hits for me: the caribbean jerk chicken sandwich and the southwest burger. their best i think comes from their appetizer menu; the hot pepper cheese. fried jalapenocheesebites that come with ranch and salsa. all i can say is they are delicious and a must try.

they also have a solid happy hour with $2.25 domestics, and $10 carafe mixtures. the pricing on their food is reasonable for a local establishment. overall it's charlie brown's ambiance that shines more than anything else. it's worth a visit if your around the chevy chase neighborhood.

great hang-out - okay bar food. i don't really go to charlie brown's for the food... it's just a great place to hang out and have a drink. and for a drink is what i recommend that you go for.

if you're feeling munchy then i suggest the beercheeseappetizer. it hits the spot with whatever libation you may choose.

i love it!. charlie brown's has been one of my favorite spots to have lunch for years. a menu of 20 or so excellent hot sandwiches, daily specials and hot peppercheeseon every visit. try the bavarian alpine - a huge turkey sandwich.

this place is dark with plenty of couches to relax on. the jukebox is on free play and the walls are lined with books. the legends say there's a $100 bill in at least one of the books on the wall. i haven't found it yet.

my favorite seat is next to the fireplace.
