the fried chicken is amazing! the service was friendly and attentive. the one (minor) downsize were the mediocre fries.

excellent. i was starving and irritable but found this oasis. seriously the best fried chicken ive ever had. i was putting the fried skin between white bread and soppin up homemade awesome baked beans. some good fresh fat tire on tap and ice water with that small slushy ice. and if u like the blues well this is the place

juicy chicken, excellent service!. champy's has a fantastic laid-back atmosphere and no-nonsense chicken. portion sizes are huge, exhibited by plates piled high with chicken and sides. i was here during the nba finals, and though the game went past their normal hours, katie and shay continued serving great meals to the bitter end. a must-visit for natives and travelers alike.

awesome fried chicken! the wings were the best & i never thought i'd eat light bread soaked with chicken grease, but i did! good baked beans & decent potato salad & their house made hot sauce is sooooo good!

40's and chicken. never have i ever had a bad meal here. it's definitely a popular place, but there's never a long wait and your food comes out hot. the chicken is perfectly breaded and juicy. the sides are wonderful. my favorite side is their italian green beans. if you are a fan of fried chicken liver, they have excellent livers. very creamy with the perfect batter crunch. you can purchase a 40 oz. beer here, have it set in a bucket of ice or in your very own koozie, and then serve yourself! the locals seem to really like this. they also have super awesome desert (homemade of course). the staff is very friendly. fun place to hang out and relax for a while.

fun place, great food. casual and fun place. we had an excellent server, tanika, who took good care of us, even though it was crazy busy. on her recommendation, we got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans for sides. everything was tasty and delicious, may have been the best green beans i ever had. chicken was crispy and juicy. thanks for a great meal champys.

although many fried chicken places refer to their chicken as “famous,”  champy’s famous fried chicken  can actually back it up. after  a chicken tattoo ad at the lookouts stadium  was  published by tmz and went viral  and then  being visited by hln’s “making it in america,”  the restaurant has gained some national attention in addition to all the word-of-mouth publicity it receives. owners seth and crissy champion first set up shop in 2009 near the university of tennessee at chattanooga —their restaurant anchored by fried chicken made from a 40-year-old  mississippi delta  family recipe. they have since expanded to three more locations in alabama, but i recently roamed to the funky building on m.l. king boulevard that started it all. read the rest of my review at nooga.com!

wow!. i cannot say enough about this place! we were driving home to nashville from atlanta a few weeks ago and stumbled upon champy's while searching the internet for a place to eat. we all ordered the fried chicken i almost died and went to heaven with my first bite. our server shelby was great and upon her recommendation, ordered the tamales and key lime pie. we are now trying to plan our next trip around getting back to eat some more haha! great food, great service! we will definitely be back!

surprisingly delicious. champy's chicken is better than most grandmas can fry, and we were served huge portions for very reasonable prices. tamales were served in corn husks and were excellent. fried pickles were yummy, too!

try the sausage, cheese and pickle platter. it's delicious! they make great plates to take to a party.
