loved this cute little cafe in srinagar. they have a beautiful set ofteapots and cups. unfortunately, they do not have those on sale.

tried noon chai, a local chai preparation here. might be a little adventurous due to the salty taste but worth trying it once. also loved the meetha kulcha.

we visited this place the second time as well. tried kolkata street chai.

highly recommended fortealovers. even if you aren't, do visit this cozy and cute cafe for its beautiful ambience.

the appleteawas okay but the hospitality was extremely horrible. would not recommend for women travellers. they requested us to sit in a secluded place away from the main area without any rhyme or reason (probably cz we were women, there could be no other explanation)

chai jaai literally translates totearoom and this quaint littletearoom is a must visit in srinagar. their kahwa is highly recommended, especially in winters. it's a sweet experience with the servers pouring out the kahwa from samovar into dainty cups for you. noon chai is another recommendation at chai jaai. they offer an interesting variety of kashmiri breads and cakes to go with your choice oftea- and there is a wide choice of teas available.

personally, i love the décor of chai jaai. there are beautiful ceramic ware on display along with various interesting curios. the walls are adorned with beautiful traditional kashmiri painting. chai jaai overlooks the jhelum on one side, and makes for the most picturesqueteatable.

one of the prettiest cafés to which i have ever been
decked with knick knacks and so many historical pictures to be seen.
the café in itself is a visual delight
complimented by a beautiful river side.
the menu is very true to the local taste
and whole theme is very traditionally based.
i tried the kehwateawith some snacks
enjoying the ambiance which is very relaxed.
a beautiful café as if something from ones dreams
it deserves my highest praise by all means.

chai jaai - catchy name and so much hype!
so i finally decided to give them a visit along with my cousins. i have to admit i was very impressed with the interiors and the view and unfortunately that's the only 2 good things about this place.

the food is not good at all. i had huge expectations but all of them went for a toss. i ordered the following:

tea: i can make betterteathan what i had at chai jaai for sure. they nee huge improvement here .

namkeen tea: again nothing great, it was quite average.

pakore: you get way better pakore in kashmir on various stalls.

not only was the food bad but expensive as well. overall, it was a disappointing experience. my request to them is to improve their food and they can do really well.
