we had visited kashmir for the first time and had gone for our first anniversary, we are from surat (gujarat). i loved the ambience the staff and view and chai and food everything about this place. i just can’t forget the mosiac cake i don’t know why it’s not even anywhere on the feedback and their pages it’s out of the world dessert. don’t miss it. if possible can the chaijaaishare their mosiac cakes picture with my review on their page or somewhere. or share me then i might post it with my review.

chaijaailiterally translates to tea room and this quaint little tea room is a must visit in srinagar. their kahwa is highly recommended, especially in winters. it's a sweet experience with the servers pouring out the kahwa from samovar into dainty cups for you. noon chai is another recommendation at chai jaai. they offer an interesting variety of kashmiri breads and cakes to go with your choice of tea - and there is a wide choice of teas available.

personally, i love the décor of chai jaai. there are beautiful ceramic ware on display along with various interesting curios. the walls are adorned with beautiful traditional kashmiri painting. chaijaaioverlooks the jhelum on one side, and makes for the most picturesque tea table.

now that winter is here, chaijaaiis the place to be for traditional and veritable kashmiri cuisine. dipping makai tsot in honey, sipping on the warm chai, sitting and enjoying the view of jhelum, these moments get etched in your mind forever. this place provides a great experience but on the downside it’s a little overpriced in my opinion.

if you wish to spend a peaceful evening in srinagar then chaijaaiis a perfect place. they serve amazing kahwa with a view of jhelum & sufi music in the background, which sums up to a perfect evening.

chaijaai- catchy name and so much hype!
so i finally decided to give them a visit along with my cousins. i have to admit i was very impressed with the interiors and the view and unfortunately that's the only 2 good things about this place.

the food is not good at all. i had huge expectations but all of them went for a toss. i ordered the following:

tea: i can make better tea than what i had at chaijaaifor sure. they nee huge improvement here .

namkeen tea: again nothing great, it was quite average.

pakore: you get way better pakore in kashmir on various stalls.

not only was the food bad but expensive as well. overall, it was a disappointing experience. my request to them is to improve their food and they can do really well.
