lovely local. we were delighted when ceyloninnopened down the road from us. the staff vary but the food is excellent. i love that the chef is willing to make my off menu favourites on request (obviously not when they are packed as they often are). have never been disappointed by the food and find the portions to be appropriate. great value for money. the decor makes the visit - just stunning.

birthday dinner was a success :). i have dined at ceyloninnbefore and was happy to try it the second time. i attended a birthday party last week and it was a reservation for over 15 people.

we were seated outside which was fine considering our large group. it was a chilly night however heaters were on which made it just as comfortable.

service was great. it was good to see the staff circulating around the restaurant. considering we were the only table outside isolated from the inside tables we were very well looked after. staff are clearing as they go and making sure we were ok for drinks and topping up our byo wines/beers.

our meals came out promptly - overall tasty curries and we overindulged.. next time, might have to order just one curry for 2. still managed to fit in a coffee. i'm really happy with what was served! didn't expect it to be good for a restaurant like this! i usually expect that in a cafe!

i will defnitely return. great place for intimate dinners and a night out with friends.

i hope your staff enjoyed the birthday cupcakes we have left for you ;).

disappointed. went to the ceyloninngraceville last night for a birthday dinner. the only good thing about the experience was the ambience - it is lovely! while the ambience is an important part of the dining out experience, for me, the most important part is the food, followed by the service. sadly, ceyloninngraceville did not perform well at all in both these categories.
we were part of a large group that attended last night. we ordered the tibetan chicken chasha and i requested that mine be made medium hot, instead of the mild option according to the menu. we were unaware of what the others had ordered as we were a bit late and they had already ordered. the meals took a long time to arrive, but i wasn't too concerned by that as i can understand that saturday nights are busy everywhere and the good company helped. when the food eventually arrived, i realised that two of the others had also ordered the tibetan chicken chasha. i asked the server which one was the medium hot one, only to be very curtly and rudely told that all of them were medium hot instead of mild, that he didn't take the order, he only made the meal according to whoever took the order. points to note - there is no need to be rude to your customers, nor is it professional to be whinging about the lack of communication in your restaurant - it gives a very bad impression. determined not to ruin my evening, i ignored the rude server and proceeded with my meal, only to be extremely disappointed with what i had been served. the food was extremely mediocre, lacked seasoning and was missing something. certainly not one of my better indian meals and i do know my indian. we also felt cheated with the amount of food served. it was a very small serving for $18.50! one of our fellow diners had ordered a mild lamb dish, as they cannot handle heat at all. what they were served was a searingly hot dish, that even others who could handle the heat found too hot. the water was never topped up and nor were we asked how our meals were. in fact, except for taking our orders and serving us, there was no other contact from the staff, something that is very unusual for an indian restaurant, as all the other indian restaurants that we have been to; the service has been extremely friendly and courteous. we had to ask for the bill - again i can understand that they were very busy, but shouldn't they have adequate (and courteous) staff for a saturday night?
all in all, a very disappointing experience and i will certainly not be returning.

we used to frequent the restaurant when it was in bulimba and we were so sadden to hear it go. we moved to the graceville area recently and found the ceyloninnby accident to our delighted surprise. the food is still amazing, the staff excellent and the decor retained its great ambience. our tastebuds are fulfilled again! 😋

the friendly service here is the best i’ve experienced anywhere in brisbane. such a warm, kid friendly vibe when you walk through the doors. the rogan josh and beef korma were delicious as was the garlic, spinach and cheese naan. and then to top a fantastic evening off, a belly dancer got us up off our seats for a dance. the kids loved it! as always - thanks ceyloninnfor another great night out!

i have been here before and there is no doubt that the food is usually fantastic. however, the other night i attended with friends and we all ordered. i watched as all our food arrived together, which is excellent. except my dish which while coming out with the rest went to another table.

after 5 more minutes i raised some concerns and there ensued a commotion as it was realised my food had gone to another table. after several servers told me 'one minute' and 'two minutes' several times, my food arrived 15 minutes after everyone else's.

it was cooked in a hurry and was not up to the standard that the food here usually is. it was slightly burnt and very dry.

these things happen (but i thought not here). the most disappointing aspect of all was the complete lack of acknowledgement of the mistake or any apology. my dish was finally delivered by the manager who simply placed it hurriedly in front of me and disappeared. i expressed disaffection of the whole affair with the staff but was simply greeted with smiles but still no apology.

service is sometimes lacking in australian restaurants but l thought the ceyloninnmight be above placing money in front of customer service.

an apology for sending my food to the wrong table, for providing me with a sub standard rushed meal, for having me eat almost by myself as it took so long to come out - or even an acknowledgement by the manager that there was a mistake goes a long way to keeping customers coming back

i won't be back.

i've tried many indian places in brisbane, trying to find a stylish place reminiscent of the wonderful and sadly gone scheherazade. ceyloninnis not that perfect place but its close enough. breads are good. curries ok for me. good variety. limited alcohol (hint: byo), tea and coffee choices. limited deserts. but a very reasonable local curry. easy parking. ambience. recommend.

great place.. ceyloninnis a truly awesome restaurant. the food always tastes amazing. i highly recommend the ceylon (their signature dish). we use to visit the one in toowong all of the time. the service was always very prompt with lots of friendly staff at toowong and this one seemed no different. the atmosphere is very nice in the restaurant; i don't think it is quite as good as the old ceyloninnin toowong, but still awesome.

poor quality food - poor service. have been to the ceyloninnon few occassions over the years. each time it has been a different experience, ranging from good to acceptable. well last night was very unacceptable! the service was shoddy, from the water being poured all over our table instead of in the glasses. to the handling of our complaint about a curry being watery, bland and indeible, being brushed aside with the presentation of salt and pepper shakers to self correct the tepid muck. the naan breads were dried out husks that looked and tasted as if they had been cooked by being left out in the sun for two weeks.

will never eat there again and would certainly not recommend the food to others.

my girlfriend and i went to ceyloninnat graceville this evening and we we both agreed that this is 'the best' indian in brisbane. beautiful layout, good ambiance, friendly staff and the best chicken tikka masala i have had in brisbane.

i wouldn't mind someone taking me out here, though i wouldn't pay myself. ceyloninnis okay, decor is very exotic and staff seem to be friendly.
i myself love butter chicken and they do a pretty nice one, not the best locally nor the worst.

we have tried ceyloninntwice with different experiences each time. both were take away so i didn't have the decor to be dazzled by. curries had good flavor and quite a bit of spice, however the meat was awful. the beef was sinewy and looked like offal. not very impressed with the naan either.

it always amazes me to read the negative comments about ceyloninnat graceville, because i've been there many times and it's been consistently fantastic. i have never been to india and don't know if it's "traditional" indian food, but i do know it's amazing. we went again recently - the decor is gorgeous, the staff are attentative, and the food comes quickly and is delicious. my personal favourite is the ceylon chicken - incredible! my friends last night had a prawn dish and a beef dish - both fabulous, and the beef just fell apart and melted in your mouth.

average - there's much better around. i'm a big fan of authentic indian cuisine. if you are too, i wouldn't recommend ceylon inn. don't get me wrong, it was "nice," but nothing spectacular.
the atmosphere is great, the decor is interesting and the swinging chairs were different, if not altogether practical.
we ordered a banquet, consisting of 1 meat dish and a variety of side dishes. we asked for lamb, and we received chicken. after waiting for an hour for our meals, i wasn't about to take it back and wait again. besides, we don't mind chicken either, so we dug in.
the highlight of the meal was the raita. honestly, all other dishes were a little bland. not bad, just bland. from an award winning restaurant, i was expecting much more.
the service was slow and a little clipped. nobody asked if we were enjoying our meal, otherwise i would have happily pointed out the chicken / lamb mix up.

we wont be recommending ceyloninnto our friends. a night in india (toowong), bombay dhaba (west end), punjabi palace (springfield) and singh's (corinda) are all much better restaurants.

went out to ceyloninnfor dinner last night in graceville. automatically the stunning interior and design caught our eyes. it was beauitful, from the plush chairs to the wooden carved poles. we were greeted at the door and shown right away to our table. the restaurant was packed to the max and what surprised me was how great the service was! we were not waiting long at all to place our food order, and they were constantly checking up on us to see if everything was fine. the only downfall was the food. it was not very spicy and rather bland. the naan was too doughy and you could not taste the stuffing. the food itself looked better then it tastes. all in all it was a lovely experience, perhaps if you are a big indian food lover, ask the waiter to have the food cooked extra spicy. would defintly go there again. great for functions or birthdays. :-)
