we just got takeaway. it was pretty good for australia (an especially for brisbane). looks lovely inside. will be going back for a sit down meal.

poor service. with a table of five, the waiter took our order by memory (?!). two entrees never arrived, one of the mains was incorrect. the correct main wasn't delivered to the table until everyone else had finished, with no apology. when the bill arrived we waited half an hour for a waiter to collect the card to pay. we gave up and walked the bill over to the till. whilst the decor is very impressive and the food was okay, the service was terrible. i took friends from out of town and was embarrassed by the whole experience. never again.

good food and beautiful atmosphere, but average service. the staff member who took our 5-person order by memory forgot one entrée altogether, and ordered one altogether incorrect main which then had to be corrected while the rest of the table began eating.

we have tried ceylon inn twice with different experiences each time. both were take away so i didn't have the decor to be dazzled by. curries had good flavor and quite a bit of spice, however the meat was awful. the beef was sinewy and looked like offal. not very impressed with the naan either.

it always amazes me to read the negative comments about ceylon inn at graceville, because i've been there many times and it's been consistently fantastic. i have never been to india and don't know if it's "traditional" indian food, but i do know it's amazing. we went again recently - the decor is gorgeous, the staff are attentative, and the food comes quickly and is delicious. my personal favourite is the ceylon chicken - incredible! my friends last night had a prawn dish and a beef dish - both fabulous, and the beef just fell apart and melted in your mouth.

average - there's much better around. i'm a big fan of authentic indian cuisine. if you are too, i wouldn't recommend ceylon inn. don't get me wrong, it was "nice," but nothing spectacular.
the atmosphere is great, the decor is interesting and the swinging chairs were different, if not altogether practical.
we ordered a banquet, consisting of 1 meat dish and a variety of side dishes. we asked for lamb, and we received chicken. after waiting for an hour for our meals, i wasn't about to take it back and wait again. besides, we don't mind chicken either, so we dug in.
the highlight of the meal was the raita. honestly, all other dishes were a little bland. not bad, just bland. from an award winning restaurant, i was expecting much more.
the service was slow and a little clipped. nobody asked if we were enjoying our meal, otherwise i would have happily pointed out the chicken / lamb mix up.

we wont be recommending ceylon inn to our friends. a night in india (toowong), bombay dhaba (west end), punjabi palace (springfield) and singh's (corinda) are all much better restaurants.

enjoyed the look and feel of the restaurant and the curries we picked were beautiful - the entree, mixed platter, was average but would definitely head to this restaurant again. good service too.

after reading some of the bad reviews, we weren't sure what to expect. we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. the staff were lovely, the food was amazing and the restaurant decor is beautiful. it is a little on the expensive side but we were happy to pay.

went out to ceylon inn for dinner last night in graceville. automatically the stunning interior and design caught our eyes. it was beauitful, from the plush chairs to the wooden carved poles. we were greeted at the door and shown right away to our table. the restaurant was packed to the max and what surprised me was how great the service was! we were not waiting long at all to place our food order, and they were constantly checking up on us to see if everything was fine. the only downfall was the food. it was not very spicy and rather bland. the naan was too doughy and you could not taste the stuffing. the food itself looked better then it tastes. all in all it was a lovely experience, perhaps if you are a big indian food lover, ask the waiter to have the food cooked extra spicy. would defintly go there again. great for functions or birthdays. :-)

well worth the visit. this is one of the best indian restaurants i have visited in a long time. the food was divine, the service was excellent and the surroundings were just perfect...all i can say is give it a try for yourself and find out :-)

enjoyed eating here. i have been here twice and have shared six different meals all have been fanastic. the service was equally pleasant.

consistently good. we have been here on numerous occasions. its a pleasure to find a restaurant which in our experience always produces excellent quality delicious food. long may it last!

awful manager andrew. though most of the staff were delightful and attentive, we were very unimpressed by the service delivered by the management. they were extremely offensive, and although we have been here before and enjoyed ourselves, this experience has left a very bitter taste in our mouths. we will not be returning, nor will many of our friends or family in the graceville area. for failing to deliver a very simple customer service gesture, the arrogant manager andrew has lost himself much future custom. do yourself a favour, and travel to the kenmore or toowong restaurant if you are after the ceylon inn experience.

excellence every time. whether its for eat in or take away from the ceylon inn, youre always in for a treat! this has long been our favourite spot to dine and we've never had a bad experience. the staff are always friendly, the food is always superb. try the ceylon chicken, its to die for! price is great for value and taste, you cant go past this place! have recently revamped the place and the atmosphere is incredible!

interior is beautifully set out, tight spaces but very intimately warm and can cater to large numbers. i organised a party of 20 and we were all delighted with the food. although they did take a while timewise bringing out meals, a friend of mine said it would depend on the chef as she went on a friday night, full house and their meals were served quickly. i went on a wed nite, so i guess the chef was having a bad day. still, loved this place. recommend highly. plus im vego so definitely go
