as soon as we walked in, the staff were so friendly and happy which was nice. they checked up on us throughout the night and made sure we were having a good meal.
the curries we ordered were pretty good as well as the pakoras and overall was a nice indian meal.
the decoration of the restoration is so lovely as well and would be an even better atmosphere when the place is busy!

this indian restaurant has been around for 20 years or so in the same street. it has to be doing something right! you can always count on good food and good service. a safe option...if nothing else.

good indian here. service is a bit up and down - had trainees before. some of the tables are a bit awkward to sit around just saying - bit of an awkward distance between back rest & table. the food is what matters though & it is good here. used to get the lamb kofta & pretty much all dishes are safe options. nothing ground-breaking though to warrant a higher rating but i would recommend. lots of the dishes have this iconic smokey flavour to them that i only seem to notice at this place which is nice

visited here on a monday evening with our interstate visitors. arrived at 7.40 pm and were told to leave at 9.10pm as the waiters taxi was coming. the food was average but the service appalling. our visitors were horrified that we were told to leave even though we had a few mouthfuls of wine left. the waiter was rude and i will never go or recommend this local restaurant again. ps the toilets were filthy!!!!

this restaurant is extremely popular with locals.  we've been here a number of times and have had good experiences; food has been tasty!  request a seat away from doors/windows on cold nights as they are often left open.  if we're back in the area we'll be sure to come again.

this is where we get out weekly takeout from. delicious butterchikcen and garlic and cheese naan. we ate in last week and throughly enjoyed the coconut fish dish. the staff are always friendly and the decorations give the place an air of authenticity. if you're looking for consistently delicious indian on the west side of brisbane you cannot go past ceylon inn.

this is an indian lankan place. food quality and taste is average. the place has a nice ambience with all the cane furniture around. service was quite decent.

i've tried many indian places in brisbane, trying to find a stylish place reminiscent of the wonderful and sadly gone scheherazade. ceylon inn is not that perfect place but its close enough. breads are good. curries ok for me. good variety. limited alcohol (hint: byo), tea and coffee choices. limited deserts. but a very reasonable local curry. easy parking. ambience. recommend.

great place.. ceylon inn is a truly awesome restaurant. the food always tastes amazing. i highly recommend the ceylon (their signature dish). we use to visit the one in toowong all of the time. the service was always very prompt with lots of friendly staff at toowong and this one seemed no different. the atmosphere is very nice in the restaurant; i don't think it is quite as good as the old ceylon inn in toowong, but still awesome.

average is an understatement. a friend and i decided to try something different and dine in at ceylon inn, after a recommendation from a friend.

to our surprise, average is the first word that came to mind after our chicken tikka entree.

we thought it may have been a slight mistake with a very bland tasting tikka sauce and disappointing thigh fillet chicken pieces.

but let's get to mains with a sugar coated butter chicken and once again, thigh fillet tibetan chicken.

as i sit outside this establishment and belch the excessively cheesy and garlicky naan, i would recommend steering clear.

$70 for two people.. i would recommend elsewhere.

great indian takeaway. had some indian takeaway from this place last week, the curries were very flavoursome and tasted great! also the garlic naan and rice was very nice.

horrible been twice both times sooo bad. never get our meal rights tonight was bad no offer of a refund and got charged for cold rice. disappointed will not be back.

staff are out dated.. lovely location, and wonderful food. the serving sizes are excellent for the money you pay, and definitely worth the wait for the quality you're delivered. if the older women serving could pay a little extra attention and not rush the customers- i might consider becoming a regular. apart from the employees, a wonderful meal is constantly had.

recently dined here with a friend on a weeknight. we were pleased with the decor and atmosphere upon arrival.
it took about 10minutes before we were given menus and then another 15minutes before our order was taken.

we waited over an hour for our food to arrive, and commented on the delay to our waitress when we noticed a couple who arrived after us at another table received their meal before us. she was not in any way apologetic and instead blamed their busy evening as well as other excuses.

we ordered pakoras (these were delicious), two curries (beef korma & a butter chicken) as well as a garlic naan. the naan was burnt and completely overpowered by garlic. both curries were average and lacked any real flavour. the beef was exceptionally tough.

when we left and asked how our meal was, we explained all of the above. we were given a bland apology and told that "yeah it's been a pretty bad night tonight" as an excuse. there was no effort made to help improve our opinion.

we definitely will not be dining here again.

good but not mindblowing.. the mains were lovely and filling, the brownie was to die for but the service was a lacking. we were given the wrong order twice and despite calling and booking a table for dinner the moment they opened we had no table reserved and ended up being asked if it was ok to sit outside which we didn't have an option seeing as inside was packed. tables outside were all on a slant which was not to my liking. will go again, but maybe only for take away.
