you would think that since thisplaceis so popular the owners would hire a good wait staff. but no, they are sub par at best. the steak is very good but not worth the price of sitting next to multiple tables full children who run around and no one from the restaurant says a word.

best steak in el paso. thisplaceis the best in the el paso area.the coleslaw is also really good. very kid friendly. nice atmosphere. views are also fantastic. they also no how to make martinis and other mix drink right. thisplaceis a 10 compared to the other steakhouses and restaurants around el paso. to bad you have to drive out of el paso to get good food but thisplaceis worth the drive.

need a mini-vacation? look no further.... cattleman's was always such a treat for me and my friends. the menu was small, but the meat was the main attraction and it was always done right. you'll have to wait a while for everything to come out, but that just ensures you don't fill up beforehand.

out of the 8 times i've been there, i've conqured both the cowboy steak and the full rack of beef ribs (not at the same time). both were wonderful.

the real draw to this place, though, has to be the setting, building itself, and the animal zoo setting around back. i'm a grown man, but still enjoyed seeing the ostrich's, peacocks, rattlesnakes, horses, livestock, etc. the views during the sunset are definitely world class, so try to get a table in the west-wing of the restaurant to enjoy it.

otherwise, can't say much more about thisplaceto recommend it! truly a one-of-a-kind!

awesome view and great food. the cowboy is a must. it's kind of out of the ways, but totally worth it. secluded in a ranch/frontier fort type of style, there are tons of things to go see around. thisplaceis more than just a restaurant.

best steak in the el paso area. for the property alone, thisplaceis worth a visit! seating is plentiful!! scenery is drop dead gorgeous. get there before the sun goes down for the best views and make sure to check out all the animals!! you can't go wrong with a single dish on the menu. good cowboy cooking and the best meat selection around. the filet will fall apart in your mouth.

when i first went to cattlemen's i remember it was bit of drive east of el paso out in the desert off a dusty little road a few miles from the interstate.  still a 30 mile drive, but well worth it even now.

a little different, however, in that it has grown from a very rustic old-west type of restaurant into more of "touristy"placewith animals for the kids to see and so forth.  but, the food was as good as i recall with great steaks and other choices like beef ribs and, even seafood (really, in the desert?) plus all the trimmings from cole slaw to beans served up as "all you can" with the entree.  very pleased overall.

so, not a 5?  well, it caters a little too much for the tourists and the server was a bit off his game with little interaction with the guests - so, not perfect.  worth the drive, however, and i would recommend going just before sundown to catch some scenic sun sets over juarez and el paso.

ps:  i can't find any site on zomato for juarez - so, i have to mention it here:  try la borrega for mexican food if you feel safe enough to be in the town.  made up for the just average food i had the night before in el paso.

hands down my favoriteplaceto eat. the lobster and steak is phenomenal. the environment has a country feel. it is quite pricey so be prepared for that. once you've eaten you can walk around their zoo of sorts, take a hayride to old movie sets, and sit by the lake and watch the sunset. the most romanticplacein west texas.

thisplaceis a meat eaters dream. vegan's burst into flame when they get within ten miles of this place. the steaks come from beef that is raised on location as this is foremost a working ranch. furthermore, they of course do the butchering on location as well. all the meats are flame grilled and the rolls are freshly made on location and the sides are bottomless. take the family and enjoy the grounds before or after you eat. the only issue i've ever had is the service can be hit or miss.

don't care about customers. my husband and i waited outside the gate to be let in for well over 1 1/2 hrs with out 8 month old daughter. they keep making you move in line, would tell you to line up over there, move you, and you never got anywhere while others that just got there were being let in. i talked to the so called manager and he was of no help. we never made it inside and we left. i will never be going back to thisplacewho cares so little about their customers.

filthy!. i cannot understand all the oohs and aahs over this place. it's very filthy, the food is palatable at most, granted the meat portions are large but the flavor is poor. it seems like something the poor or obese might enjoy.. the "any food is good as long as the portions are big" type.

the carpets are filthy, the entireplacemade my skin crawl. i would take a month with a steam cleaner.. no, i'd have to rip all that carpet up and put down some wood or tile. i can't imagine what peoples homes look like whom call that "a great place". it's disgusting!

look no further!!!. if your looking for a great steakhouses in the el paso/faben's area look no further. catleman's steak house has the most succulent, juicy, flavorful, and well seasoned steak. hands down best steak i ever had. when you take a bite it melts in your mouth and the flavor of the steak hits that spot in your mouth that stimulates that area that triggers you to salivate and grave more even when you are full. you know the type of food you keep on eating even though you had enough but it is so good that you keep eating? well, that's cattleman's in a but shell. sides are delicious but who cares. the steaks are what you are after. get some jalapeños and eat them with your beans and steak. forget about it. theplacehas been featured on the travel chanel on numerous shows including the top 10 steak houses in the country. need i say more? i'm doing you a favor, just go get you some.

poor quality - all hype. the beef tastes very gamey, not fresh at all. the food is very overpriced and the side dishes "fixins" are very bland. thisplaceis all hype, eat he food without listening to "oh such great steak!" and you can truly experience what old, gamey, meat tastes like it. never again.

my goodness, that food. we are in town picking up my sister who flew into fort bliss after deployment. we had 4 different people tell us that we must try thisplacebefore we left. i must say, i was not disappointed. we had the sausage and shrimp cocktail for appetizers, which themselves were excellent (the shrimp cocktail has a very unique and excellent flavor). my mom had the shrimp-filet kabobs, my sis and her army buddy the t-bone, and her other buddy and myself had the filet. we also had some of the mushrooms. first bite, we were in love. by the time we were done and thoroughly full, we were quite happy. it took them a little longer than average to bring the checks, but the food will make you easily overlook that minor issue. hands down best food. especially those daggum mushrooms! we begged several times for the recipe, to no avail. i wish we were able to explore the grounds, but we were just so full and content we all were snoring (minus the driver) by the time we hit 10 again. well worth the far drive out of el paso. time to go into a food coma now!

food good/service bad. i can't understand why aplacewith such delicious food has terrible service at best.
the food is pricey but good. we had a huge t-bone steak that was so tender it actually cut with the fork without a knife. the mushrooms are delicious and the coleslaw and beans are super good. the bread is hot and delicious too.

the service on the other hand is not that good. our waiter took forever to bring us our food and even drinks. they seem to be focused on playing around and telling jokes than doing their job. if you need a drink refill, you would be better off getting up and getting it yourself -which i did.

when i paid my tab, i was asked how was my meal. i told management about my experience at their establishment. instead of acknowledging the issue with the time to get our food and lack of service, they became defensive. they really shouldn't ask questions they don't want to hear the answer to.
