you would think that since this place is so popular the owners would hire a good wait staff. but no, they are sub par at best. the steak is very good but not worth the price of sitting next to multiple tables full children who run around and no one from the restaurant says a word.

best steak in el paso. this place is the best in the el paso area.the coleslaw is also really good. very kid friendly. nice atmosphere. views are also fantastic. they also no how to make martinis and other mix drink right. this place is a 10 compared to the other steakhouses and restaurants around el paso. to bad you have to drive out of el paso to get good food but this place is worth the drive.

great place! went again last night and watched the coyotes eat the scraps that were thrown outside. had the 14 ounce ribeye. it was very good, but not as good as the cowboy t-bone i had last time. beans and cole slaw's also very good. service was friendly, helpful, and quick. next time i plan to order the rack of ribs. they look great.

i love this place!. the food and the atmosphere and the people - guests and staff - they are all great. i usually share with my wife to maintain portion control in my life. so, we have them pack up a doggie bag. it's fun walking around the grounds at el paso's most unique restaurant.

need a mini-vacation? look no further.... cattleman's was always such a treat for me and my friends. the menu was small, but the meat was the main attraction and it was always done right. you'll have to wait a while for everything to come out, but that just ensures you don't fill up beforehand.

out of the 8 times i've been there, i've conqured both the cowboy steak and the full rack of beef ribs (not at the same time). both were wonderful.

the real draw to this place, though, has to be the setting, building itself, and the animal zoo setting around back. i'm a grown man, but still enjoyed seeing the ostrich's, peacocks, rattlesnakes, horses, livestock, etc. the views during the sunset are definitely world class, so try to get a table in the west-wing of the restaurant to enjoy it.

otherwise, can't say much more about this place to recommend it! truly a one-of-a-kind!

you know you’re in texas here.  i attended an event that began with a tractor-pulled covered wagon ride.  as the sun set, it took us out into the desert through the property’s indian cliffs  ranch where we viewed the remnants of filming sites for a variety of movies, including “resurrection,” “the border,” and “courage under fire.”  then, while our meal was being fragrantly prepared, we indulged in margaritas and wandered out to the children’s zoo for encounters with goats and longhorn cattle.  even rattlesnakes in a snake pit.  kids are catered to with the fort apache playground and indian maze.  though i don’t usually eat a lot of red meat, when i’m in texas i know better than to say no to a steak, and cattleman’s does make one of the best i’ve ever encountered (the other one was also in texas at the big texan steak ranch in amarillo).   my memorably delicious steak was accompanied by tasty several sides--potato salad and beans--but, surprisingly to me, no baked potato or lettuce salad.

spent $188 on lousy service. had to ask for water & drinks. drinks served with no alcohol in them. the steak was dried & flavorless. baked potatoes burned & coleslaw warm. very disappointed😡😡

way out in the desert, but worth the drive. i had the ladies 7 ounce filet that was the best tasting steak i've had in years. had dinner with a group and the meals were served family style with bowls of cole slaw, baked beans and bread kept filled by attentive servers. will definitely make the effort to get back here next time i'm in the area.

awesome view and great food. the cowboy is a must. it's kind of out of the ways, but totally worth it. secluded in a ranch/frontier fort type of style, there are tons of things to go see around. this place is more than just a restaurant.

best steak in the el paso area. for the property alone, this place is worth a visit! seating is plentiful!! scenery is drop dead gorgeous. get there before the sun goes down for the best views and make sure to check out all the animals!! you can't go wrong with a single dish on the menu. good cowboy cooking and the best meat selection around. the filet will fall apart in your mouth.

when i first went to cattlemen's i remember it was bit of drive east of el paso out in the desert off a dusty little road a few miles from the interstate.  still a 30 mile drive, but well worth it even now.

a little different, however, in that it has grown from a very rustic old-west type of restaurant into more of "touristy" place with animals for the kids to see and so forth.  but, the food was as good as i recall with great steaks and other choices like beef ribs and, even seafood (really, in the desert?) plus all the trimmings from cole slaw to beans served up as "all you can" with the entree.  very pleased overall.

so, not a 5?  well, it caters a little too much for the tourists and the server was a bit off his game with little interaction with the guests - so, not perfect.  worth the drive, however, and i would recommend going just before sundown to catch some scenic sun sets over juarez and el paso.

ps:  i can't find any site on zomato for juarez - so, i have to mention it here:  try la borrega for mexican food if you feel safe enough to be in the town.  made up for the just average food i had the night before in el paso.
