cascade room

came here for dinner anddrinkswith a friend. the server was awesome. really made our experience that much better. i was excited to have a burger and treat myself after so long, however found the burger bland. it's so simple to under season i suppose. the cocktails were great. loved the soju sour. prices are reasonable and for a trendy restaurant on main it's one of the last restaurants you can just walk into without a restaurant. suppose because it's such a big space. fills up though foe sure.

i came here to meet a friend for a drink. they had some food on the table that they weren't eating. i didn't have any either. i did order a drink. it was $12... the restaurant itself looked nice. our waitress seemed to be in a bad mood or something. she didn't really say much and didn't seem too excited to be there. oh well though. i don't really care about that. seemed to be kind of a classy place in my opinion. overall i don't really have anything good or bad to say about it. i probably won't come back though, just because thedrinkscost an arm and a leg and i'm assuming a first born child for the top shelf selection.

terrible experience. one of the worst restaurant experiences i have ever had in vancouver. the service was ridiculously slow despite it not being very busy. ordered a drink and 30 minutes later i asked the waitress again for it and she rolled her eyes and said it was coming soon. no apology or explanation. eventually someone took our order, but it was not worth the wait. the food was cold, bland and mushy. i had a veggie burger, which had very little flavour. the bun was stale and the patty and chips were cold. my husband had a roast beef sandwich, the beef, chips and dip were stone cold. none of our friends like their meals either, except the polenta fries which were the only dish that came out hot. my husband sent his sandwich back, the waitress brought it back a couple of minutes later. it had clearly been microwaved because it was now mushy and unevenly hot. the waitress said, if he didn't like it this time he probably didn't know what a roast beef sandwich was meant to be like. she then snatched the plate away and said "we are done here". no offer to order another entrée. my friends were then triple charged for one item and the waitress and manager said "it was too complicated" to determine if we had been over charged until they cashed out at the end of the night. they offered to call if they determined we had been over charged, however they never asked for a phone number. avoid this place, there are way too many other places in the same city that offer the same food &drinksbut have better quality food and service.

always a good experience. i've been to cascade a few times for their music bingo on mondays. it's always a fun time, and the food,drinksand service are always great. last time i went, i had the veggie burger with polenta fries. hands down, the best veggie burger i have ever had, and everyone at the table was stealing bites of my polenta fries.

energetic place. great place for a date night or night out with friends. their drink list is great and the food is quite good.

the service the night i went was slow - probably due to it being grey cup weekend. but the manager ensured ourdrinksgot to us when the waitress did not.

had a good variety ofdrinksand the appy's were good. the prices is comparable with other lounge/bars.

over rated. i met friends fordrinksand dinner at cascade room in may 2011 and ordered the sausage pizza -- it was terrible. soft, thin, mushy crust and way too much sausage - didn't taste very good. over-priced as well.

cascade room is for the see-&-be-seen types, not for those looking for quality food, reasonable prices.

love the place, the food is good, thedrinksare good, and the place is full by 7:30. so what does that tell you? one of main st.'s best restaurants. good service too.

started out so well.....but incrementally has gone downhill.. when the cascade opened it was the bomb. the bartenders were excellent they knew theirdrinksthe staff were fun. it was as great place to go. it seems as it as gotten busier the quality of everything has been going down. the food was never all that great. thedrinksthe best quality and best deal in town so the food was easy to overlook. the menu has not improved the staff are getting like old mules. if they aren't working they are hanging around talking with the ones who are working. a large group of my friends used to meet there often but the last few months every time cascade comes up no one really gets excited about going. it's sad since it was the best place in the city by far for a lot of reasons. it seems like it's time to clean house get some less miserable staff and switch up the menu or the kitchen altogether.

however, i think their food menu could use some work. there isn't anything like hot wings, nachos or something that is small and decent priced. i wasn't hungry enough for an entree or a pizza. i felt like wings or something that i could snack on with meat and wound up ordering raw tuna? it was good. just needs more variety and food that someone might be looking for when they walk in there.
