awesome atmosphere in here, beautiful decor/setup, very cool to watch the bartender make all the drinks. our waitress sucked at her job but at least she was friendly.

best pub food on main. after too many frustrating long waits for a table at the portland craft, we decided to try the cascade room on a rainy saturday night. i half expected it to be busy, but when we arrived at 6:30 p.m. the bar was only half full. i was immediately impressed with the overall atmosphere, the service and the food menu. there were only a few items to choose from, but all sounded very intriguing and unique. i debated between the grilled haloumi cheese salad and the veggie burger (chickpea, pearl barley & gruyere patty). i chose the salad and was very happy with the generous portion. my boyfriend had the cumberland curl susage and champ mash with mashed potatoes and peas and he was very satisfied. our bill was pretty steep - but 100% worth it. i will definetely return to the cascade room again!

good food, fun atmosphere. went here for the first time on a busy friday night. we were seated right away, surprisingly. i ordered one of the specials, the lamb shepherd's pie with salad, my partner ordered the chicken and goat cheese pot pie with fries and salad. delicious! tons of flavours, reasonable prices, large portions and great selection of beer and wine.

a few complaints: the music is a little too loud for a restaurant; the regular menu is quite small.

terrible experience. one of the worst restaurant experiences i have ever had in vancouver. the service was ridiculously slow despite it not being very busy. ordered a drink and 30 minutes later i asked the waitress again for it and she rolled her eyes and said it was coming soon. no apology or explanation. eventually someone took our order, but it was not worth the wait. the food was cold, bland and mushy. i had a veggie burger, which had very little flavour. the bun was stale and the patty and chips were cold. my husband had a roast beef sandwich, the beef, chips and dip were stone cold. none of our friends like their meals either, except the polenta fries which were the only dish that came out hot. my husband sent his sandwich back, the waitress brought it back a couple of minutes later. it had clearly been microwaved because it was now mushy and unevenly hot. the waitress said, if he didn't like it this time he probably didn't know what a roast beef sandwich was meant to be like. she then snatched the plate away and said "we are done here". no offer to order another entrée. my friends were then triple charged for one item and the waitress and manager said "it was too complicated" to determine if we had been over charged until they cashed out at the end of the night. they offered to call if they determined we had been over charged, however they never asked for a phone number. avoid this place, there are way too many other places in the same city that offer the same food & drinks but have better quality food and service.

the scotch eggs are killer !

we are regulars at cascade and are never disappointed.
the cocktails are the best in the city and we loved the new menu items.
the guinness mac and cheese with bbq ribs was delicious and the mussels were juicy, we asked for them to be made spicier and the chefs did a great job.
can't wait for the next quiz night.

always a good experience. i've been to cascade a few times for their music bingo on mondays. it's always a fun time, and the food, drinks and service are always great. last time i went, i had the veggie burger with polenta fries. hands down, the best veggie burger i have ever had, and everyone at the table was stealing bites of my polenta fries.

about the only thing i didn’t love was the service. while it wasn’t exactly lacking, it was sitting right on the line. a puff of air from the kitchen could have sent it right over into bad. there was no smiling, there was no picking up of feet (by that i mean service was not slow but sluggish), and there was no…enthusiasm. we were looked after and suggestions were made based on what we were drinking (which could imply attentiveness) but even this was done so apathetically as to be disappointing. we’ll see how that goes. i will kee you abreast of any developments after future visits.

likin' it. on our first visit here, the place was packed on a wednesday night, which is a good sign in itself.
the good: hostess, service, the room and the food. all met or surpassed expectations, especially the food.
the bad: our table (next to 2 sheets of plywood, a ladder and a hand cart) and the d-bag who hassled us down the sidewalk on the way into the place.
overall: really good experience, will be back.

i like the cascade room. it's a nice socially ambient place for food and drinks.

the calamari was as good as any but the salmon plate is a delicious selection for anyone who desired to sample some british columbian salmon.

boring. food was blah. cocktails were blah.

good hang out. this is a great place to meet friends and watch a game. the service is good and the atmosphere is alive. the appetizer menu is not great.

energetic place. great place for a date night or night out with friends. their drink list is great and the food is quite good.

the service the night i went was slow - probably due to it being grey cup weekend. but the manager ensured our drinks got to us when the waitress did not.

it is a fantastic place to get together with a group of friends and a pretty awesome place for a date night. the restaurant is comfortably loud but not painfully so, you can still hold a conversation. the decor is pretty cool, with some elements that make it feel like a updated version of a 1950s hotel lounge and some awesome modern elements. the menu is decent sized and focuses on local sourced products. the prices are reasonable, the portion sizes are great, and the service is always friendly and attentive. in a nod to british pub culture, monday nights have become quiz nights at cascade. questions are "general knowledge, " registration is between 6-7 for a prompt 7:00pm start. maximum of four per team, $2 to take part, and the winning team scoops up the proceeds to go to the charity of their choice. this quiz was not easy!!!! questions ranged from topics like world population, current events, geog

had a good variety of drinks and the appy's were good. the prices is comparable with other lounge/bars.
