the best mexican restaurant in okc. looking for an authentic, inexpensive, family-owned mexican restaurant located in the oklahoma city area? look no further than casa perico mexican grille. with two convenient locations in northwest oklahoma city, casa perico is my go-to whenever i’m craving quality mexican food.
casa perico is family owned, giving it a warmer and more inviting atmosphere than typical, flashy tex-mex chains.
with quick and friendly service, i am always seated promptly, with little to no wait time. immediately after being sat, servers place the smoothest, tastiest queso you will ever eat, delicious salsa with fresh vegetables, and homemade tortilla chips in front of each guest. i use the word guest because at this homey restaurant, you are treated as more than a customer.
there seems to be a low-turnover rate for casa perico’s employees, with familiar faces greeting me almost every time i come in. it is evident that they care about each guest’s experience, as they provide quick and courteous service every day.
after receiving the set-up of chips, queso, and salsa, you are given the option of ordering tortillas to tide you over before your meal arrives. my family always opts for the mix of both corn and flour tortillas because both homemade choices are delicious in different ways.
casa perico offers traditional tex-mex favorites and more signature, authentic mexican entrees. the chile relleno platter has a perfect mix of spicy and savory flavors, while the carnitas de puerco is a local favorite. the chicken or cheese enchiladas are a go-to and the carne asada is a delicious option. after my main course, i can never refuse the fluffy and delicious complementary sopapillas.
to wash down the tasty entrees, casa perico offers a wide variety of premium beverages. the authentic mexican beers like tecate, dos equis, and negro modelo provided in frosted, salt-rimmed goblets are a nice compliment to your meal.
the mexican grill has been around for almost twenty years. mike and paula porter, the married owners, founded the business and have been running it ever since. they truly care about the quality offoodand the satisfaction of their guests.
the porters strive to create a long-term clientele. many guests, including my family, have been regulars for the entire time that casa perico has been in business. this is due to the great quality offoodand friendly service of employees.
i have been a loyal customer of casa perico since the time that i had to use a highchair. casa perico was my family’s weekly restaurant choice throughout my childhood. we even had the fajitas, enchiladas, chile rellenos, and rice and beans catered to my graduation party. they provided all the necessities to make serving a large group of people in my home as painless as possible, including heating racks, utensils, and platters. thefoodwas definitely the hit of the party!
look out chain tex-mex restaurants! this mom and pop’s mexican diner is one to watch in oklahoma city.

casa perico. their lunch is a little pricey for the small portion that they give. overall thefoodis good!

gone downhill. service was good.foodtotally sucked. salsa tasted awful, that's a good indicator for the rest of the meal. they have scaled back their menu quite a bit and ingredients are out of a can. these good indicators that business is circirling the drain. hopefully the next owner in about 6 months will be more successful.

service issues. this place has been a longtime favorite of mine and my family's, but the last few visits have been not so good. thefoodis still pretty good, and the new menu looks nice and everything, but the service doesn't match up. service is often more important to me. may give them another chance.

un pequeño problema. i've raved about casa perico to my facebook friends and anyone who will listen and i've been a faithful customer.

but today i feel slightly cheated. i ordered tacos pioneros ($9.99 menu price) and was asked if i wanted chicken or beef. i said "beef." seems simple enough.

upon receiving my dish, i noticed the tacos were different, not the shredded, stewed beef i've had in the past, but chopped this time. i didn't think much of it until my check arrived and was much higher than expected. i was charged $11.49 for the tacos pioneros. my first reaction was not that i had been wronged, but that maybe the restaurant was raising prices and the menus were not yet reflecting the prices - innocent enough, i thought.

so when i asked if the menus were out of date, and pursued the issue with my server, i was told that i had ordered something extra. and when i expressed confusion and irritation, the response was sheepish smiling. excuse me, but are we pretending to have a language barrier in order to pad the customer's bill? i really hope not. because i know what i ordered. if you are going to charge more than the menu price, you need to communicate that to the customer and that will probably save you from reviews like this one.

it will be a while before i'm back guys.

overpricedfoodin an old old braums store building. it is okay food, but there are better options for less money.

move to oklahoma from phoenix three years ago. perico mexican grille is by far the best mexicianfoodwe've had anywhere in this state. highly recommended!

great find. we were in okc for a wedding and craving mexican. looked on urbanspoon and this was close to the hotel thought we would give it a try. did not disappoint. thefoodwas great as well as the service and i loved their habenaro salsa. 2 thumbs up!!

not horrible, but there are much better. my bf likes this place, (nostalgia for childhood dinners with his grandmother i suspect) so i'm not going to go out of my way to bash it. quick review: queso is white and very bland.foodtastes like a less flavorful version of ted's. no sopapillas were offered. service team was very anxious for us to leave and continued to stare at us even after receiving a 25% tip.

yummy!. my husband and i have been here several times and have never been disappointed! thefoodis always so good and the service is friendly and professional! i love mexicanfoodand this place is at the top of my list! we try to eat at places that are not franchises and this is a good place to start and stick with!

very good excellent service. thefoodis outstanding. the service is the best around. there aren't very many places that you can go these days and get good service. thie price is a little high but the service makes up for it. i just don't eat there as often as i would if the prices weren't as much.

the best service ever!!!!!!!!. not only was thefooddelicious, quick and fresh, but the service was amazing, i ordered a beer and it came in a tall frozen goblet like glass with lime pulp and salt on the rim, best mexican beer!!!!!!!! i recommend the tacos and enchiladas, great great place will go again and again!

no liquor on the patio!. the whole reason i went to casa perico was to get their skinny margarita! i talked them up to my friends and we all went there expecting to sit on the fun patio and drink! they can't have liquor served out on the patio. you can get beer though... thefoodwas okay, but i was really dissapointed in the patio and inside atmosphere. :(
