delicious lunch spot andgreatchoices if you want to be healthy or indulge!. the lunch menu was fantastic and i wanted to order everything on it. they have a lot of salad and healthy options as well as several fishes they prepare with olive oil and tomatoes. the pastas looked very appealing but we opted for the lighter options which were perfectly prepared and delicious. i would love to go back sometime and try the pastas. te dessert was ok but next time i would go to dolcezza for gelato instead.

i recently stepped into casa luca dc for the first time as i was researching sustainable restaurant practices in the dc area for immersion travel magazine.  not only did i get to sample somegreatvegetarian dishes which made me think “if i had a chef who cooked this type of food at home, i would totally be a vegetarian” but chef erin clarke was kind enough to share her delicious broccolini with toasted pine nut pane fritto & broccoli “pesto” recipe with the dining traveler readers.  the broccolini is sourced from path valley farms in pennsylvania and uses every single part of the vegetable for this dish, to include the stems to create a “pesto”.

the lamb was phenomenal!!! if you're looking for a weird and slightly pretentious dinning experience this is the place for you!! went on a date with my husband and had agreattime! if you sit inside be prepared to get comfy with your neighbors, cause it is a tight fit! with 2 drinks total, an appetizer, the spaghetti entrée and the lamb entrée, we dropped $160 after tip, at this place. it's not the most expensive place i've been, but don't expect an olive garden bill.

they also offer a "wine school" on saturdays which could be cool. don't worry about a dress code, jeans and a t shirt seemed to be par for the course.

their homemade pasta is a selling point, however skip the red sauce cause to be honest a 97¢ can of hunts spaghetti sauce with 1/4 c cream would taste about the same. better splurge for some thing a bit more rare and unconventional, like their tiger figs! yum!

the prosciutto is really just salty unflavored beef jerky. i mean, it is thick cut for sure! typically it is sliced thinly due to its very strong flavor and how expensive it can be, but money apparently was no object here. the goat cheese and huckleberry compote was fantastic! ultimately, i'd go again, but maybe just for lunch.

march 12th, 2015 | by cori sue tweet pin it it was a cold, wet, rainy day—the first of march no less—when i gathered my dc bitches for a catch-up and planning session. annie, or social bitch, and amanda, our baby bitch, joined me for brunch at casa luca. it was nice to catch up with the ladies, but we also had to set about planning. you see, the bitches turn next month and we’re throwing a five year anniversary brunch in april, as well as a white party on the roof of the penthouse pool in may. be on the look out for invites in the coming weeks! we schlepped in to casa luca, which is cozy and upscale, with an attractive private dining room. the staff was extremely attentive and knowledgeable about all of their brunch offerings. jamming to the eclectic music choices in the warm atmosphere made us almost forget the dreary weather looming outside. last year, we rated fiola mare as the best brunch of the year. so, i was excited to try casa luca, it’s downtown cousin—also owned by fiola and maria trabocchi. while the brunch menu is expensive, there are two affordable options as well as a bottomless option. the first option is a three-course prix fixe—with your choice of one appetizer, one brunch entree, and one dessert plus bottomless beverages. agreatdeal considering the prices and quality of cuisine. there’s also maria’s light brunch, a $26 healthy entree and mocktsail, which is the dish annie ended up having. the drink menu is solid: with cocktails, mocktails, and fruit juices. there are three cocktails: a silician mimosa (blood orange with prosecco), a gazpacho bloody mary, or sangria. you can order bottomless of any of the three cocktails for a mere $14. amanda selected the sangria, made with donna laura sangiovese red and generous helpings of fresh fruit. the delightfully strong cocktail and frequent refills made for a relaxing sunday afternoon fit for a leisurely brunch. annie ordered the luca’s derby “mocktail,” which was festive and light. the combination of gr

great experience at the casa luca. i was in washington, dc for business. my birthday happened to land on this trip and i brought my adult daughter along with me.
we decided to try casa luca for my birthday dinner. it was the perfect choice!! it all started with agreatwaiter who explained the menu items. he even got the chef to make a dish which wasn't currently shown on the menu. the food was fantastic and the service was even better. from topping up the water and wine glasses to the special birthday coffee cake, after dinner liqueur and a personalized birthday card signed by the staff. the general manager even popped by to make sure all was well.
i highly recommend casa luca and will definitely return next time i'm in town.

we had such a nice time. the ambiance was lovely. slightly loud, but not so much that we couldn’t carry on a conversation. it was more of just a buzzing hot spot. the food was delicious. inventive, but distinctly italian and hearty. our service was prompt and helpful. all in all, we had a reallygreatdate. we’d definitely go back and we left feeling more inquisitive about the other restaurants run by trabocchi.

the washington, d.c. dining scene was changed for the better when chef fabio trabocchi and his wife maria moved to town and opened fiola . it’s a beautiful and classy restaurant that delivers fine dining at its best. this friday, july 5th they will open their second restaurant casa luca in the old againn space located at 1099 new york avenue nw. the restaurant is named after their son luca, and is supposed to be a family gathering place, similar to the meals the trabocchi’s enjoy at home on sunday’s with their own family. a few friends and i were able to get a sneak preview yesterday as they kindly extended an invitation for us to try the food during “friends and family” week. after close to 3 hours of plowing through the extensive menu, i can confidently declare that casa luca will begreatsuccess just like its sister restaurant fiola. the space: for those who spent time at againn, you’ll immediately be surprised at how they were able to transform the interior. what used to be a dark
