greatplacewith great history. didn't stay here a night so not sure about the stay. however the food was good. the service a little slow due to the fact that it was busy.

ample of seating space inside and out. greatplacefor kids to run around in the back yard. and beer was perfect.

i'm surprised there aren't more foodies or outgoers trying thisplaceout. it looks like a old run down building from outdoors, but its great on the inside. it is one of the okdest buildings around - a must visit for anyone passing by!!

definitely an iconicplaceto stop for a drink and a bite to eat. we purposely travelled back to queenstown from wanaka this way to stop in at the cardrona. pub food done well, yes we were told that there would be a 45 minute wait on food, but hey at least we were told and theplacehad quite a few customers. and, what better way to pass a summers evening than with a speights in the garden! in the end the food arrived in 30 minutes, i had bangers ans mash and my friend the pork belly. the meals were huge and were delicious. definitely worth the detour and a stop :)

staff were very lovely and accomodating and we absolutely loved the rustic charm of this historic building (152 yrs old!) and how they have outfitted theplacefor its modern functions. good selection of beers and on tap and spirits on the shelves. the steak we had was done perfect, although we might skip the salad in lieu of dessert next time. looking forward to coming to this region again for a visit.

bestplaceto stop for a drink after a days skiing at cardrona! oozing with atmosphere and history, having been there since 1836.. everything is in character, with plenty of old cars, photos and paraphernalia around. there are three areas, the outside beer garden with open fire, the restaurant area and the original bar area. it was heaving with people when we arrived, so a bit of queueing to get our drinks. we were keen to eat but it seemed table service hadn't started at 5pm so it was a case of order at the bar. it was also a bit difficult to find a table since they all had reserved signs on them. we had the ploughman's platter which was top notch. all of the other food i saw going by looked great, so will have to try and come back some time!

loved thisplaceso glad we stopped here when we were on holiday.
huge servings of great food and the atmosphere is awesome. i would fly back down from auckland just to grab a bite to eat i'm hooked!

best dutch apple pie in the southern hemisphere! and that's a big compliment, coming from a dutchie. great coffees too. on a sunny day their big garden is a great spot for a break, in winter near the fire is a goodplaceto be!
