captain scott's lobster dock

perfect on a nice day. we were surprised by the long line at 11 a.m. on a weekday but the lobster rolls were worth it. i love the picnic tables for an outdoor meal on a beautiful day. the salad was surprisinglyfreshand perfect for our vegan guests. the only thing we did not enjoy was the clam fritters. they were mostly breading with no distinct pieces or even much flavor of clams. we will go back, but skip the fritters next time.

this dock is an amazing place to have seafood. the lobster roll here doesn't disappoint. fish--chips wasfreshtoo as like the lobsters.
be ready for long queues. there's ample seating in the open. not suitable for winter though. but you'll have a great time with your people at this place.

lobster delight. the whole maine lobster is worth the trip!freshand delicious not at all greasy, it's worth the drive from alabama. ambiance could use some help,but the price is right.

the meat isfreshpicked, never been frozen, they don’t pick it themselves, but they get itfreshpicked from a place nearby, according to the gal at the counter. there is tail and claw meat, nicely cooked, tender, tasty and the butter manages to coat the meat, not be too hot and drip off onto the bread. the bread is a standard wonder type bun, i would rather they went with a more bakeryfreshone, but it is good, nicely grilled and somewhat larger than the usual bun.

update: got the chance to go through new london and stop here again. in addition to a full lobster dinner for $18.95 and great chowder, we found that captain scott's has a fish market and we were able to bring home some beautiful scallops and oysters. heaven!

several years ago, while leading a group of american and japanese teenagers around the country, i asked the local hotelier to recommend an authentic seafood place on the water. she and a council of three other employees said that, hands down, it had to be captain scott's lobster dock.

this is the real deal. place your order at the window and, when called, take it to one of the many picnic tables. dynamitefreshlobster, wonderful chowder...and affordable.

when i'm in this neck of the woods, stopping here is a must.

great place. love thefreshseafood and the atmosphere. i had 4 lobster rolls, 2 scallop rolls, a bowl of lobster bisque and a cheesburger one night. loved it.
