this restaurant was just a spur of the moment decision, as we were down this way from auckland for other reasons than to just eat, but when the time came to eat we came upon this place. it turned out to be a verygooddecision. when we first went in, probably as it was a saturday it was busy and we had no reservation so had to settle for a table outside.
that was when we first went in, but after a while we noticed that there were tables inside with no reserved sign on them, so i went in to ask if there was a slight chance we could get a table inside. and the nice young lady by the name of sam checked and did manage to find us a table inside. thank you so much sam!!!
after perusing the menu one of us chose the
nourish bowl, which as they say is made up of all things seasonal they being avocado, edamame, black sesame nori, cauliflower rice, quinoa, cucumber, green cabbage, lettuce, broccoli salad, kimchee, vegan miso mayo and you can choose either smoked salmon or fried chicken to go with it. she chose the chicken. i myself chose the
greenlea scotch fillet steak with creamy potato mash, mushroom and peppercorn sauce.
to sum up the mains. she had no complaints about her nourish bowl, perfect. as for my steak, well it may not look like much in the photo but it was enough to fulfil one's appetite and delicious to boot, cooked to perfection with a potato mash amongst the best i have tasted.
now to the desert, as fulfilled and happy as i was with the steak i just had to satisfy my sweet tooth and sample thier tiramisu. it consisted of italian chocolate soil, hokey pokey and dark chocolate pearls. what a surprise as i have never had a tiramisu like it. maybe you could call it deconstructed, as it was all the ingredients individually but together beautifully presented in a glass. and boy it tasted asgoodas it looked.
so overall i got to rate this place 10/10 even though we were sat outside at first. service, food and atmosphere all top notch. will definetly be back again... and the price wasgoodtoo.

this was by far the best avocado on toast i have ever had. they use volare bread. it kept its crunch even after i took my time to get though the meal and it was somehow light and fluffy yet very filling. the avocado, with the cheese and the hummus was fresh and worked well together. verygoodflavours, and the creaminess of all three components was on point. the only downside was the service, a table which arrived around 15 minutes after us got their coffee before us which was a bit disappointing, given the restaurant was kind of empty and we put a coffee order through as soon as we were seated. the waiter who directed us to our table wasn’t very friendly, he was older than the other staff working that day, maybe it’s wrong of me to assume this but can’t figure out whether it was because we didn’t look like the usual crowd that comes in, or because he maybe has been working hospo for too long 🤷🏻‍♀️. didn’t manage to crack a smile despite greeting him with a smile and being polite. however the other waitresses and waiters were friendly. the waitress who took over was straight forward and clear when taking our order and talking us through a couple of things on the menu and answering our questions.

drove out east to camarosa for anzac day breakfast. superb venue with both inside and outside seating. very nice location out side of town on agoodday. fresh air! tried both the brisket and the salmon and brie eggs benedict. pricey but very very good. the potato hash side is a must i could eat so many.goodgeorge on tap and a solid range of wines and non alcoholic drinks. probably the best brunch spot in hamilton hands down. on food and location. if you’re still peckish head over to the fresh berry icecream place next door.

lunch for two on easter monday.
place was busy so we had to sit in the (covered) outdoors bit. we were shown to our table and apparently fell off the radar! after about 15 minutes we called the waiter over to give our order. the waiter was good, and took our order.
we waited a while for our drinks, but the coffee's eventually got there. most other tables had received some water, we didn't. so we asked for some when the coffee's were delivered. we got some water soon after, but after the waitress had gone away we realised she hadn't provided glasses. another wait until our food arrived, to ask for glasses.
turned out that when delivering the food he didn't bring any eating utensils either, so another wait with food rapidly descending in temperature for these to be provided!
i noticed i had the wrong sort of bread with my meal and he explained the they had run out the other sort - lucky i wasn't gf or something.
anyway, finally i can say that the meals were ok.
i'd be a bit concerned if i was the manager/owner about these basic service errors. i can go to other cafes and get better overall service delivery - and will be more inclined to now.
the premises themselves are new and purpose built and very nice. the staff are prettygoodto. its really the service delivery that needs some attention.
overall, it is still not a bad place, and if you haven't been, then you should check them out. maybe it was just a bad day for them!
