cafe beignets of alabama

little place at the end of the same strip as rouse's grocery store. popped in for breakfast at 8:55 am and there were only 2 tables occupied. our standard order is one plain (3 in an order) and one vanilla filled. in less than 10 minutes, we got our coffee and piping hot beignets. they do not skimp on the powdered sugar. delicious! sometimes thebeignetsdon't come out full formed, i wish they would toss it rather then serve it. but it does taste the same. as we were leaving around 9:20, every table was filled. they open at 6:30 so early birds, you know where to go!

for 1st time visitors, grab an open table and sit down if you want to eat there & wave at a waitress. go to order counter only if you want takeout. people standing around are just waiting for their takeout order. i hope this clears the confusion of your first visit.

i could not eat here every morning but it is not because i would not want to. hotbeignetsand powdered sugar. what can you say. bring cash.

top shelf, troy dunnam. fine friendly folks, service is excellent, conversation with cafe staff and guest is very enjoyable. i recommend that this cafe be included in your stops at gulf shores, thebeignetsare delicious and coffee is hot. 5 star in my book.

lydia at the front was very helpful! i will call to make sure she is working before i buy again.beignetswere fantastic but who ever that other woman was needs to review her attitude and make some serious changes. i am in the service industry and i would never roll my eyes, argue with a customer or have such a nasty disposition. just smile and be nice!

no problems at all, and good beignets. we had read a lot of the service complaints on here, but had no problems when we went. we did hear two guys remark about them only taking cash, but they have an atm right next to the counter. thebeignetswere great as well.

beignets done right. i have been going to this place for a long time. traditional i must say... it's always a must when i'm in town for the summer. it's funny when i hear people complain about the staff's attitude. as far as i'm concerned, they are friendly and fast. just don't waste their time. they know who has been there and who has not... you look like a tourist when you take more than 10 seconds to order. it's an one page menu on the wall.beignetsand coffee. that's it. just walk in and tell them how many dozen and if you want coffee. these are made to order and let me tell you, it's worth the wait. lite, little crispy and plenty of powdered sugar on top. so if you're driving in the morning hours, forget about doughnuts. stop here and hate yourself for not finding out about this place sooner.

tasty deep fried to order squares of dough that form a "pillow" in the fryer, they dust them with powdered sugar when done. the formula is simple and the results are delicious, if not quite as light as the originals in n'awlins. the young lady taking orders could have used a friendly pill the day i was there, but the product was tasty and i took it back to the condo, so she didn't impact my experience to any large measure. still, a smile and a kind word isn't that difficult, so cafebeignetsonly gets a 3rd gear rating.

m-m-m !. on vacation last year we got up early and grabbed the keys and went to get somebeignetsat cafebeignets! light billowy sugary goodness... coffee was awesome. if you can't get to cafe' du monde in nola then get yourself here cause ~
you need to eat here!

fast service. every trip it is a tradition to getbeignetsto bring back to the house for the family. they are always quick to get us in and out the door. always very good.
