one of the most popularbreakfastkitchens in atlanta, buttermilk kitchen does not dissappoint. atlantians seem more than happy to line up for the $15 chicken biscuit among other menu highlights. the delicious harmony of sustainable and local ingredients shine throughout the menu.

my favoritebreakfastin a long time. took my mom here today to celebrate her birthday. she had the eggs benedict, which has already been raved about, and i had an omelette with pimento cheese and bacon. i tried her eggs benedict, and it was fantastic. they do not skimp on the amount of ham, which is nice, but be warned: it is salty. this, along with the bacon that was in my omelette, has the most amazing smoked flavor unlike anything i've ever had in abreakfastdish. i don't know if this is done on site, or it comes to the restaurant that way, but it adds an incredible flavor. my omelette came with an excellent biscuit and this sweet/spicy jam that went well with it. we also shared an order of french toast, which was really good, but seemed a little dry. i can't wait to go back and try the pancakes and many of the other items on the menu. also met the owner, who was very cordial. our service was fast and the projected 30 minute wait ended up only being about 15 minutes. i can't recommend this place highly enough.

they hate kids!!!. my wife and i were invited tobreakfastat buttermilk kitchen by another couple. we both have children. 4 adults, 2 young children; simple enough. after waiting for 30 minutes, they tried to seat us at a table for 4. only one high chair was available for use at the table due to its configuration. when we explained this was an issue to the server, she couldn't comprehend. i asked to speak to the manager hoping to work through this. the manager was rude and dismissive as if this were our problem because we brought children. she offered to seat us at separate tables or else let us get back in line (at the back) and wait for another 30 minutes. we left. i have never eaten the food there and never will. for all i know they may have great southern cooking, but i can tell you they have no understanding of southern hospitality.

what barney said.... seriously, i can't really say anything different from what barney has already said; he described the eggs benedict perfectly. they weren't a flavor overload, instead it was very balanced and the little bit of sweetness from the apple jam was a nice touch. the poached eggs were cooked perfectly and had nice, runny yolks. these were some of the best eggs benedict i've had in a while. the french pressed coffee from dancing goats was quite good, too.
the place itself was nice and cozy. it has a sort of farmhouse vibe to it without being kitschy at all. the staff was exceptional and really easy to talk to.
i look forward to coming back forbreakfastagain, and hopefully for one of their fried chicken dinners, which are byob!

impressive attention to the food. stopped in forbreakfastearly on a sunday morning (they open at 8am!) and couldn't pass up their unique take on eggs benedict (poached eggs, house-made english miffin, country ham from pine street market, apple jam from emily g's, and their "red-eye hollandaise."

i've gotta say that was the best "eggs b" i've had in a while. not overpowered and drowned in a thick sauce, instead this was a perfect balance of rich, salty, a little sweet, and very fresh flavors. every single bite was seriously good with the last being as good as the first (no overpowering flavor fatigue going on here!). chased with a solid cup of strong coffee, and this was a perfect breakfast. worth every penny.

had a chat with the owner and my impression is that she's pretty serious about quality and local sourcing and it isn't just lip service. it has me wanting to go back and try a lot of things, including one of their special chicken dinner nights.

thebreakfastwas amazing. everything was very fresh and prepared to perfection. we had bacon, eggs and the best fresh baked breads! also the eggs benedict was out of sight. the french press coffee is also something you do not want to miss. the staff was friendly and the chef came out to check that everything was prepared to our liking. great experience!

the buttermilk kitchen was horrible. i spent $42 on abreakfasti didn't even eat! i ordered the sourdough waffle which was not tasty at all. my eggs were not fresh eggs and the sausage tasted spoiled. mybreakfastmate had the shrimp and grits which i think the shrimp had been precooked. i am chef and will not be referring this place any of my friends. it literally left a bad taste in my mouth!!!

i had a wonderful experience here! great atmosphere and friendly staff. yes, there was a wait but it's a newbreakfastrestaurant on a sunday morning, of course there is going to be a wait. i had the pimento cheese app that was some of the best pimento cheese i have ever had! i ordered the blueberry cobbler pancakes which were also really good and a nice creative twist on traditional blueberry pancakes. french press coffee is superb. also saw they do a tuesday night fried chicken dinner club which looks really cool. great new addition to the buckhead restaurant scene.

insult to injury. i had an absolutely terrible experience at buttermilk kitchen. a group of co-workers and i went there for lunch to try it out this week. the menu is very basic and pretty pricey forbreakfastfood and sandwiches...especially with a lackluster quaility of food. we had to wait over 45 minutes for our food from the time we ordered until we finally got our food that they tried to give to another table before getting to us. one of my co-workers got the chicken sandwich and the bacon on it was completely raw and inedible. bacon is supposed to make everything better but not when it is uncooked. i got pancakes and bacon (cooked) for $11 and could have gotten the same quality of food at ihop for half the price. to add insult to injury, i had left my tip in cash on the table but apparently that was not sufficient. when i checked my credit card online the restaurant took the initiative to add an additional dollar of tip for themself from my card. i am livid and will never go back. i love the atlanta food scene and really enjoy going out and trying new places. this was by far and away one of the worst restaurant experiences i have had in atlanta in the six plus years i have lived here. i belong to dinner clubs and go out all over town and have never been so disappointed.
