nice, trendy decor. i really like the self-served cafeteria style. my friend and i ordered the lemon and thecinnamonbuns waffles, they are both pretty good. the waffles were crispy on the outside and nice and soft in the inside. i definitely enjoyed them very much. definitely coming back.

light airy with excellent toppings. precisely as advertised.

the lemon (lemon curd and goat cheese) was a delight.

favourite by far was rachel'scinnamonbun.

i had the rachel'scinnamonbun today. it was excellent. $8 for a slab of waffle made to order, hot and delicious, strikes me as an excellent deal. freshly squeezed oj or brewed coffee from p&s round out a nice menu of sweet waffles. calgary has too few dedicated dessert places and this in one i can see returning to again and again. great experience.

overpriced for quality. waffles were quite small for price of $8-$9. don't get me started if you want to add another topping for $2-$3.

tried the lemon andcinnamonbun waffles, not terrible, but not so delicious i wouldn't go back and pay for that quality again. honestly, i felt that a safeway lemon doughnut tasted better than the lemon topping on their waffles. if you are wanting a dessert, save your money and head over to jelly doughnuts for a much cheaper, satisfying and flavourful snack.

what a lovely little indulgence my first trip to buttermilk was this weekend!  looking for a central place for a brunch with some girlfriends, someone suggested we give this place a try.  we lucked out and snagged a table right before a huge morning rush, as many of already started, the place is small so table space is a premium.  seating sorted, we got in line to order, i got the green eggs & ham minus the ham (still can't eat pork, still bummed about it), my friends each got the waffle benedict and we all went with the feature cocktail - a pomegranate mimosa.

i really enjoyed my waffle choice, obviously was missing the salt from the ham but with all the sriracha mayo and aged cheddar it was far from bland.  even the egg was nicely soft poached!  my friends really enjoyed their bennie's too and of course, we all enjoyed the mimosa's.  the staff here were all great - counter staff were friendly, helpful and engaging, the manager (well,  i assumed he was anyway) was walking around checking on everyone, chatting with customers.  the only off putting thing was our table was close to the entrance, so there are times that you literally have people standing over you waiting in line to order... we were debating our second round of waffles, because we had to try at least a sweet one to share, and a group was hovering over us waiting for us to leave the table so they could take it.  not buttermilk's fault, just a flaw in the setup and i guess a draw back of it being so popular!

the 3 of us decided on two sweet waffles to split to try - the fruit one, which we added a scoop of ice cream too because it's village creamery *insert drool face* and thecinnamonbun.  both were great, but i preferred the fruit one, ice cream or not.  our eyes were way bigger than our stomachs, we could not finish them, but we just had to give them a try before leaving.

we really enjoyed our visit to buttermilk, and i would certainly return again in the future.  though, as it is a bit on the expensive side, it won't be an every weekend thing, i can really see how some do make this a weekly (or more) stop.  thanks buttermilk!

the minute you walk into the cozy interior of buttermilk  you're greeted with the smell of fresh waffles. the staff are very friendly, readily helping me and my friend pick items from the menu and clarifying any questions we had. the space is incredibly inviting, with lots of seating and large windows so that the restaurant is almost entirely lit by natural lighting.

i finally decided on the reuben ($10) and the rachel'scinnamonbun ($8) waffles. my friend ordered the h.a.m ($10) and fruit ($8) waffles. both of our orders arrived promptly and were nicely presented, and we were informed that we can ask for our courses to be staggered in the future so that the waffles stay as fresh as possible. both waffles were absolutely delicious: perfectly crispy with a soft, almost cloud-like interior. the toppings were very fresh. i would never have thought to pair pastrami, cheese, and sauerkraut with a waffle, by the combination definitely works! the "secret sauce" was also good, however i would have preferred if the sauce was only offered on the side. thecinnamonbun waffle (what's better than having a waffle for both dessert and your main course?) was pretty astounding. with silky, rich, cream cheese frosting, cinnamoninfused syrup, and crunchy pecans, it was definitely the highlight of the meal. my friend thoroughly enjoyed both her waffles too, but found that her fruit waffle was especially good. it was topped with a raspberry cream sauce that had an almost frozen-yogurt tanginess to it. really, really good.

the waffles are slightly pricey, but the toppings are fairly generous and i definitely underestimated how filling two waffles can be. i'd definitely be interested in returning to check out some of their other offerings. if you're ever in the mood for fresh, delicious waffles, buttermilk is definitely worth checking out.

what a treat! buttermilk fine waffles is a definite unique gem with top notch offerings. we came early on a sunday morning to the inviting smell of fresh waffles and coffee. im not sure why there is so much distain for the prices as they offer a good product, decent portions with high quality ingredients. the 4 of us ordered the h.a.m., the reuben, a blueberry and thecinnamonbun and were also treated to a preview of the valentines day special. every waffle that came to the table was fantastic and full of flavour. friendly service, a comfortable ambiance and wonderful locally roasted coffee make it well worth it. we will absolutely be back!

ordered therecinnamonbun waffle and pina colada waffles. they were good and not sweet. the place is a bit pricey though for what you get. what i bought cost $14 bucks (two sweet waffles).

i recommend this place as a decent dessert alternative.

i loved this place. good atmosphere and decor and the food was delicious. you get loads of toppings like pecans and berries. i had the village waffle with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce as well as thecinnamonroll waffle and bother were delicious. the person i was with had a blueberry waffle and they loaded on the blueberries.

the waffles are quite overpriced for the amount of toppings you get on it. thecinnamonbun claims to have cream cheese frosting but it was in fact a glaze to my disappointment. the only saving grace for the village was the ice cream on it. the waffles were on the soggy side too.

love!

the restaurant is beautiful, nice and bright. there are lots of good choices and i really can't wait to try a few more waffles from here. service was friendly. prices were pretty reasonable for a nice light meal.

came here at 10pm on a saturday night and it was just perfect! split the ham waffle and thecinnamonbun waffle with the bf so we could both have a sweet and a savoury. they have a number of games to choose from to play at your table so we grabbed connect four to play while we waited. we only got two rounds in before our waffles came.

the waffles were cooked perfectly. nice and light, not greasy. the flavour combinations are really incredible. i am most looking forward to trying the blueberry next time.

me and my boyfriend went one morning for breakfast and we got the angular, fruit andcinnamonbun waffle. we paid $34 the waffles were so small, nothing special. slow service, they had plenty of staff on so not sure why it was so slow and wasn't busy. i wouldn't go again when you don't get much and it's exactly the same as what you make at home if you were to put toppings on yourself. no wow or like yea that was really good, just mediocre.

i love the idea of fun waffles. they had a great selection of sweet waffles but i was surprised at the minimal selection (2) savoury waffles. i had thecinnamonbun waffle which was delicious and not overly sweet. the batter they use is great - crispy and fluffy while moist. they're losing points on the lack of savoury alternatives and the temperature inside the restaurant was ridiculously hot. for a place that makes waffles, it isn't a place where you would want to sit down and chat with a few friends for too long. great service though!

who doesn't love waffles?! these delicious buttermilk waffles are worth the money. i have tried rachel'scinnamonwaffles and this past visit i had the fruit waffle which is strawberries and blueberries with raspberry cream, whipped cream and syrup - yum! they are very sweet, but soooo good. plus paired with the freshly squeezed orange juice, you can't go wrong for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
