oh my god! these were the words i uttered upon descending to the depths of burrowcafein antipolo. the wooden door at the bottom of the 76-step journey opened to a sanctuary for the soul. it felt like a dream to be there as my relatives and i marveled on the scenery which was full of greens and natural elements. the structure itself was elegant and pleasing to the eyes. the sound of nature and water flowing tickled our senses. it was early in the morning when we arrived so the large windows were still opened and the early morning dew and wind were really evident. the menu as i know, changes every now and then. we ordered their tender beef tapa, beef short ribs with corn and green bean risotto, beef stroganoff pappardelle, eggs benedict with smoked salmon and bacon, nutella pancakes, coffee and fruit shakes. i personally liked the beef tapa best as it was really savory. the short ribs was a bit chewy for my liking but the risotto was really creamy and good. the papardelle was really heavy and creamy and the pasta noodles were done perfectly. service was exceptional! 😊

overrated.

the location, ambiance, and the place itself are good. it's chill and perfect for instagram, sure, until you try their food.

we ordered three (3) of their bestsellers and one (1) dessert namely (1) eggs benedict, smoked salmon, bacon jam; (2) lechon and gising gising bowl; (3) rigatoni, homemade italian sausage, spinach; and (4) creme brulee.

they could use some more seasoning 'cause the taste was disappointingly mediocre. serving is so so but it's a restaurant, or acafefor that matter, and i know jollijeeps (karinderia) in makati that serve better food than them. nothing special or notable about it at all. food presentation is nice tho.

pricing, you're probably paying more for the place 'cause the food is truly not worth it's price.

save yourself and your money.

had to reserve a month in advance and the only available weekend schedule then was end of the month! thiscafemust be that great.. not!😒

our appointment was 8:00am so, i expect we’ll be let in at 8:00am. turns out they open at 8 so, we had to wait 15mins. after thecafeofficially opens.

pre-ordered food but food came a little late. i understand food takes time to cook but the drinks was not served right away too.

safety protocol 👍
food was okay. didn’t find anything extra ordinary.
price is overrated.
venue/ ambience has a chill, industrial vibe.
service was excellent.

i guess this is just one of those place you pay for the view/ ambience and not the food. not a place we’ll comeback to.

okay, now on to the food. if you look at their menu, you'll be a bit surprised because given the selection the price can be a bit too steep. i thought of the same thing but hey, i also looked at the photos on zomato and they look amazing. i ordered the slow braised beef shank (p730.00), bse--bacon, sausage and egg (p480.00), dayap creme brulee (p160.00) and cold brew latte (p160.00).

the braised beef was tender and it melts in your mouth but the flavor was overpowering. i had to eat a ton of baby tomatoes and french beans to balance out the taste. the bse was okay, is there something special about it--none. the coffee was good and justified for it's price. the creme brulee was also okay but personally the addition of dayap didn't suit my taste, i like my creme brulee creamy.

would i go back?? i would! the food may be pricey but you're not just paying for that, you're paying for the ambiance, the experience and everything in between. i probably couldn't get anothercafein the metro that can offer the peace and serenity i had while dining--it was so quiet and peaceful i was left to wander with my thoughts while enjoying my meal.

if you are after good photos then this place is for you. if you are a visual eater then dining here will surely rake in the facebook likes. but if you are after that feeling of warmth and comfort of a place reminiscent of home then this is not the place for you.

why? because of the insincere service of the staff.

the food truly is a visual feast. as for taste, its good but not remarkable. the bar must be upgraded, they don’t know what a good coffee is because they can’t even get the temperature right. the vibe from the reviews is right. the place is quaint and relaxing but lacks authenticity.

we were there for sunday brunch, celebrating my 30th with 20 of the most important people in my life. we were having a good laugh, they were giving me well wishes then along came the staff apprehending us for making noise. other guests were complaining as what they’ve said. when in fact, the other long table whom some of us also knew, are also clapping their hands and in a celebratory mood. of course these are instances you won’t mind. if you happen to be in acafeand the other table started singing happy birthday of course you don’t complain. that’s exactly why we dine out - to celebrate, bond and have a good laugh with the people we hold dear.

and hence my review. burrow may be ig worthy, but it lacks the most important aspect of acafe- the very heart of the business, hospitality. if you can’t even give a sincere smile then you’re just in it for the bucks. who would want to hang out again in your place if that’s how you make your guests feel?

i hope the owners would really do something with the service of their staff. for sure they built burrowcafeto be a homey place of comfort and relaxation where guests can always come back and enjoy. from our experience, maybe not any time soon.

🐽 food: we arrived right on time for merienda. we ordered the chicken inasal pao and their signature cheesecake. both didn’t disappoint.

🍹 drinks: hot chocolate 🍫 was really delicious!

🍴ambiance: easily my favouritecafein manila. it’s underground so the journey to get to thecafeis also an experience. it doesn’t feel like you’re actually in the city. it’s very cozy with simple architecture and interiors. the natural sunlight and plants bring lots of good energy and inspiration. thecafeis good for dates, catch ups, and even formal occasions.

they also have a beehouse but we weren’t able to visit it.

👫 service: crew were approachable and friendly. orders were served on time.

💸 price: affordable with such a wonderful experience.

burrow means a hole or tunnel dug by a small animal, especially a rabbit, as a dwelling. we went underground to dine. a regular breakfast and lunch menu and set hours in burrow cafe. how to get there:. you may waze burrowcafefor directions, we are located within beverly hills subdivision antipolo, at the end of the road.  look out for a wooden beehouse sign along bamboo fencing to your left.  entry tocafe- stay right along the wall, proceed to take the stairs down just along the gate.

food is delicious! quite on the more expensive side but tasty! they use organic ingredients. love the ketchup! burger is a must try! portion size is really good for 1 person. hope they could expand their menu selection soon!

reservation is needed since thecafeis only open til 4pm, we went there around 3pm and the guard said we're no longer allowed to enter but i told him we'll still ask thecafeand the manager allowed us to dine even without reservation. 👍

place is homey and it's like you just want to chill there all day. perfect for saturday afternoon 🙂

location and ambiance: path to thecafeis interesting and a unique experience. not recommended for the rainy season since it's muddy and you may slip on the steep stairs. btw restaurant is in a private subdivision and you have to pay 20 pesos for the gate pass. restaurant ambiance is nice.

menu and service: had problems choosing the food we want since there are no description or photos of the dishes. also, minimal choices. the wait for the food was super long, and was served one at a time. by the time my companion's dish came, mine was cold already.

food: nice presentation. taste was okay. value for money is too expensive.

burrow café offers a different dining experience. i came here with my friends and i can say that even though it's a little bit far from the busy life of the metro, it surely is a worthwhile trip.

the ambience of the location of the restaurant is really a good idea if you want to recharge a little, trees, plants and the stream makes you want to relax your mind for a little while.

i love the decor, on how it looks really really rustically made and the industrial design combination of the interiors as well, it blends really well with the nature.

we started our dining experience with their bread and variety cheese pate before we ordered our meal, had the corned beef, bacon and sausages, and their signature coffee.
we get to try their ube quezo de bola cheesecake and their carrot cake, both i love. we also ordered their crispy suman which is really a must if you're planning to visit.

all-in-all i love everything about this place, so i'm planning on bringing my family here.

boyfriend and i live in rizal so we tried this new undergroundcafein antipolo for a breakfast date.

place: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
the place is gorgeous!! there are only around 7 tables that makes the place intimate and serene. there are windows overlooking a forest that make thiscafeone of a kind.

food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
food is normal and a little bit overprice but i didn’t mind because i know that i also paid for the place. i ordered the sausege-bacon-egg which is good. boyfriend got the tapa which is a little sweet for my taste.

service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
the crews are friendly and accommodating. they ushered us to our table and refill our water from time to time. the food took some time (around 20 minutes) before it is served but there were freshly cooked and beautifully presented so i guess i’ll let that pass. :)

burrowcafehas one of the most unique location. located in the heart of taytay, rizal, it takes pride in its peaceful, earthy, and chill ambiance. the restaurant is inside a private subdivision and literally underground. there is a 1-2mins trek going down thecafebut it’s definitely worth it - might be hard for senior citizens though as the ramp/stairs going down is kinda steep.

we ordered the slow roast pork belly and beef tapa. the pork belly/lechon was okay..it was crispy but kinda bland. but the beef tapa was one of the best, if not the best, beef tapa i have tasted. you might think that all beef tapas are more of less the same, but this is different. a must try.

the ambiance is good and the place is very ig friendly. they have hammocks where you can chill or take your photos. overall, the dining experience was great (except for the pork belly).
