oh... buen comer... 💙 not once did i regret listening to a friend’s recommendation to try this place 💙

we ordered:
1) steak and rice pilaf (288 php, good for 1 pax): sadly, they ran out of rice pilaf and we had the option to choose from garlic, plain, or bbq rice (we chose bbq). this was really good. you get what you pay for with the super tender, well-seasoned meat. they only give you disposable utensils and none got broken from slicing the meat. however, i think the rice pilaf would make a significant difference in upping the game of this dish. hopefully next time it will be available.
2) nacho potato crisp (168 php, 3-4 pax): a first-time order last night! no regrets. super sulit for the price and the huuuge, overflowing serving. the flavors work together but i found the potatoes to be a bit too salty. it goes well together with their guacamole (💚💚💚) and maybe i’ll just have them lessen the salt next time.
3) steak and fries wrap (268 php, 1-2 pax): winner winner steak dinner!!! my og, my go-to order whenever in buen comer! i’ve tasted their kare-kare burrito but still prefer this one because of the uber tender, generous meat serving with good ratio with the fries. one order is more than enough for one person.

i’ve heard alot about this hidden gem, and i’m glad i finally got to try it!

buen comer’s is basically just a garage of a house, which is pretty cool. so expect it to be really really uncomfortably hot & humid while dining in. you can have the food for takeout if you want a more pleasant experience.

of course i went for the kare kare burrito, and i was floored with how huge my order was! from the serving itself, you already get your money’s worth.

taste wise, i found the burrito to be too salty (maybe next time i should separate the bagoong). aside from the saltiness, the burrito is the perfect fusion of mexican-filipino cuisines.

i’ll be back to try their other offerings!

we got first dibs on buen comer poquellas’ new wrap! they’re pretty popular for their take on fil-mex burritos and quesadillas.

dubbed the hangover wrap, it consists of steak, crunchy liempo, two fried eggs, fried rice, and chili garlic.

they call it hangover wrap because this is something that they think is the perfect meal after a night of drinking.

this is one hell of a wrap! i like to call this a breakfast wrap because of its components and i can imagine eating this first thing in the morning.

the combination of the perfectly cooked steak and the saltiness and crunchiness of the liempo works really well and it satisfies the carnivore inside you. the addition of the eggs and fried rice makes this a complete and very filling meal.

it’s not on their menu so just ask them if you want to try it. definitely another home run for team buen comer. masarap!

kare kare burrito - amazing! i was already feeling full after eating half of the burrito. could have used more greens but i'm not complaining.

cajun fries - smelled so good! the first bite was a delight and there was no skimping out of the meaty topping. i couldn't decide which of the three sauces paired best with the fries too.

parking was just a bit challenging. we arrived at a non-peak time at around 3pm yet their side of the street was full already.

simply the best fil-mex food on this side of town. a personal fave is the kare-kare burrito which is packed full of crispy pork, pechay, and rice doused in that peanut sauce. the bagoong is great as well.

i’ve been going to buen comer since 2018! i already tried a lot from their menu but my current fave is steak and fries. the steak is so soft and perfectly cooked. every. single. time. talk about consistency!!

japanese wrap, nacho crisps, and kare-kare burrito is also a must-try.

expect a full house and street parking at 8 in the evening on fridays. you’ll need to order and pay at their cashier.

i highly recommend their nachos and kare-kare burrito! they used real potato slices for their nachos. you can opt to separate the bagoong (shrimp paste) from your burrito. their burritos are good for 2 persons.

finally, i was able to try the food in this place! the location is accessible and you can park along the side of the road. the place is not air-conditioned and simple but it is spacious. we tried their chicken quesadilla and burrito which both tasted really delicious and flavourful. the price are relatively lower compared to other mexican restaurants but their serving size is huge. really loved their food!

this is a good find in teachers village. happy that my friend knows about this and suggested we meet up here. everything we had were great, not to mention affordable. as a garage restaurant (literally in a garage) you can’t really commend the ambiance, but its deliciously filling food is something to recommend.

everything we ordered was fantastic! aside from the fact that the food was delicious, you’d also get your money’s worth from the serving size.
the chicken burrito had the right amount of flavor in it, and i also enjoyed the japanese styled chicken wrap. the servings themselves were so good, technically you don’t need the condiments anymore. but you should still add them because it elevates the food to a next level.

as for the ambiance, don’t expect an airconditioned place. they don’t have a great service too (no water), but overall a great experience. i would definitely come back.
