oh... buen comer... 💙 not once did i regret listening to a friend’s recommendation to try this place 💙

we ordered:
1) steak and rice pilaf (288 php, good for 1 pax): sadly, they ran out of rice pilaf and we had the option to choose from garlic, plain, or bbq rice (we chose bbq). this was really good. you get what you pay for with the super tender, well-seasoned meat. they only give you disposable utensils and none got broken from slicing the meat. however, i think the rice pilaf would make a significant difference in upping the game of this dish. hopefully next time it will be available.
2) nacho potato crisp (168 php, 3-4 pax): a first-time order last night! no regrets. super sulit for the price and the huuuge, overflowing serving. the flavors work together but i found the potatoes to be a bit too salty. it goes well together with their guacamole (💚💚💚) and maybe i’ll just have them lessen the salt next time.
3) steak and fries wrap (268 php, 1-2 pax): winner winner steak dinner!!! my og, my go-to order whenever in buen comer! i’ve tasted their kare-kareburritobut still prefer this one because of the uber tender, generous meat serving with good ratio with the fries. one order is more than enough for one person.

i’ve heard alot about this hidden gem, and i’m glad i finally got to try it!

buen comer’s is basically just a garage of a house, which is pretty cool. so expect it to be really really uncomfortably hot & humid while dining in. you can have the food for takeout if you want a more pleasant experience.

of course i went for the kare kare burrito, and i was floored with how huge my order was! from the serving itself, you already get your money’s worth.

taste wise, i found theburritoto be too salty (maybe next time i should separate the bagoong). aside from the saltiness, theburritois the perfect fusion of mexican-filipino cuisines.

i’ll be back to try their other offerings!

kare kareburrito- amazing! i was already feeling full after eating half of the burrito. could have used more greens but i'm not complaining.

cajun fries - smelled so good! the first bite was a delight and there was no skimping out of the meaty topping. i couldn't decide which of the three sauces paired best with the fries too.

parking was just a bit challenging. we arrived at a non-peak time at around 3pm yet their side of the street was full already.

simply the best fil-mex food on this side of town. a personal fave is the kare-kareburritowhich is packed full of crispy pork, pechay, and rice doused in that peanut sauce. the bagoong is great as well.

i’ve been going to buen comer since 2018! i already tried a lot from their menu but my current fave is steak and fries. the steak is so soft and perfectly cooked. every. single. time. talk about consistency!!

japanese wrap, nacho crisps, and kare-kareburritois also a must-try.

finally, i was able to try the food in this place! the location is accessible and you can park along the side of the road. the place is not air-conditioned and simple but it is spacious. we tried their chicken quesadilla andburritowhich both tasted really delicious and flavourful. the price are relatively lower compared to other mexican restaurants but their serving size is huge. really loved their food!

everything we ordered was fantastic! aside from the fact that the food was delicious, you’d also get your money’s worth from the serving size.
the chickenburritohad the right amount of flavor in it, and i also enjoyed the japanese styled chicken wrap. the servings themselves were so good, technically you don’t need the condiments anymore. but you should still add them because it elevates the food to a next level.

as for the ambiance, don’t expect an airconditioned place. they don’t have a great service too (no water), but overall a great experience. i would definitely come back.

if you’re looking for a not-the-usual burrito, buen comer is for you. the first time we went here, we had a hard time ordering because they don’t have a classicburritoin the menu! apparently, they only offer specialty burritos and some sides. when you order their infamous kare-kare burrito, you will be asked if you prefer the bagoong mixed in or separate. tried both and we liked it better without the bagoong.

with bagoong mixed in - just your normal kare-kare but handy
separate bagoong (they’ll just serve the bagoong in a condiment cup) - much better! you’ll get to taste their kare-kare better.

in general, all their burritos (even their nachos) are fully loaded. they’re generous with the amount and the size of the ingredients in the wrap.

one of the best fil-mex restos in the metro! their servings are massive and definitely worth the price. it’s in an isolated residential area, with not much foot traffic but i’d gladly eat there every week. the ambience is not very fancy but it’s enough, given the prices and target market. i would recommend getting the kare-kareburritoand steak with rice. although my favorite thing about the place would have to be it’s triple sauces. i pour it on everything.

while i love the concept of the place, their food was too salty. the nachos was plentiful yes, but the cheese overpowered everything. there is such a thing as too much cheese and that would be too much cheese-turned salty dish. theburritowas also a sell out, but i find it overpowering. mexican food is supposed to be flavorful but buen comer’s lacked balance— it was supposed to be flavorful yet not ‘nakakaumay’.

a mom and pop located in the food haven area in teachers village.

a typical teachers village house where it’s an old house turned into a restaurant.

for buen comer, it’s acasual setting , they turned their garage as the dining and a food truck where they prepare food is also within their property. not hot and spacious.

love their food from theburrito, nachos , quesadilla.

a must try is their kare2 burrito. it’s their speciality.

always order their nachos, highly addictive

parking is limited but attendant will assist you.

i am swearing on buen comer bcos it is the best hole in the wall food place everrrrr.

the serving & quality of the food for it’s cheap price? definitely a steal, a winner!! my personal faves are:

crispy potato nachos
steak & fries burrito
chicken caesar salad wrap
japanese style fried chicken wrap

btw, my boyf & i share in 1burrito(it’s divided into two upon serving) and 1 nachos. sobrang solve na yon!

another plus in this place is their staff and the owner (who is very hands on btw you will see him there). they’re very approachable and friendly! this is a must visit in qc. it will neveeeeer disappoint.
