this is simply one of the best restaurants in the marine drive area. it can be a little expensive on your wallet but it is worth every penny. in the mornings there arebreakfastbuffets by the evenings it turns to a lounge have been here quite a few times on my visits to kochi each time the restaurant served a unique experience

well i stayed at the hotel so i have visited this restaurant not only for lunch but also buffet. service is very warm as is the case at most taj hotels.

the lunch is good if you order biryani and any dish in fish. portions are generous so one dish can be had with two people easily with more to spare.

thebreakfastwas efficiently run but nothing special in terms of taste.

bubble cafe is located in the taj gateway hotel, ernakulam and the view from here, is to die for. you can have a peep into the beautiful kerala backwaters, while you savor the food. as i stayed here, i had thebreakfastbuffet on 3 days and no complaints at all. you name it and they have it. right from pancakes, waffles, eggs to different varieties to dosas, they have it all. the waffles and the multigrain dosa was super yummy. also, the appam with vegetable stew was really good as well. the spread included idlies, a speciality in idly( like ragi idly, multigrain idly), puttu, variety of preparations in raw banana and many more. the puttu with kadla curry was my ever favorite. not to forget the chutney. it's easily one of the best i've had.

i was staying at the hotel for 3 nights and had the opportunity to try out theirbreakfastbuffet for 3 days. choices include a mix of local cuisine, indian and english spread. local cuisine - puttu kadalai, appam stew /egg curry , thenga chural and a few non veg items that i did not try. there was a counter for varieties of dosas , eggs , pancakes,waffles, french toast, puri bhaji . options of fresh juices, fruits and baked goodies was also quite extensive. service was great. we had an infant in hand and the hotel staff offered us a cradle to have a handsfreebreakfastwhich i thought was awesome. food may get repetitive when you have it for over 2 days. take the table by the marine for an awesome view.

i stayed over an extended weekend (june 29-jul 02)at gateway, kochi. bubble cafe was ourbreakfastand dinner destination. i can't decide upon what was better the staff and service or food or the location.

standard buffet menu with no localization. awesome live counters offering at least 5-6 varieties of dosa(oats, ragi etc)

gets crowded duringbreakfastif you are late else lovely staff recommends and serves with a lot of love.

some authentic kerela food here is a must try. overall the buffet spread forbreakfastand lunch was amazing with enough options.
food quality food and good ambiance.

however was disappointed with the staff and service . when we book a taj stay we expect no mistakes and also an extra mile to make our meal enjoyable. this lacked here.
have been to gateway and vivanta taj in most cities in india. and could clearly see kochi needs to work on its staff training.
will come back here only for the food whenever next in kochi.

one of the best authentic kerala food i enjoyed in a long time.breakfasthas a long line up of choices which any nationality or state would find most comfortable. if anyone wants to experiment, you should try the freshly made appam with any curry combos, it is unique.

now, coming to the lunch, it's commented as less spread than its competition in the area but i couldn't find any reason to complain. the tiny finger size fish deep fried was heaven. each dish has a unique flavour and texture which you can't miss noticing. overall, excellent experience.

had a couple of meals here when staying at the taj gateway hotel.. it's usp being a multicultural cuisine restaurant and it does what it's advertised

thebreakfastwas a selection of buffet tables with mixture of cereals, fruit table, table of variety of yogurt topped with fruit shooters, freshly squeezed juices and the usual fair of south indianbreakfastitems

the dosa was made to order and acceptable with the variety of chutneys to boot. also available was the omelets made to order which is highly recommendable.

thebreakfastwas overall on the average side compared to the others that we have had.

dinner was also very nice. the fish curry with the kerala paratha was nice and finely balanced with the well known delicate spices and heat. a disappointment for the meal was the panna cotta which was heavy, stodgy and being served in a glass to mask the fact that it didn't have the required 'wobble' to it... this was especially a let down given that it was marked as one of the chef's signature dishes.

overall a reasonable experience but there are much better places to eat in the kochi/ernakulum area...

i like the buffetbreakfastbrunch here. it is skewed a bit to the continental side and a just like all other taj vivantas / gateways buffet breakfasts they offer a good selection of cheese and olives. the spread is lavish and can leave any foodie smiling.

a la carte is overpriced and not tasty somehow. pav bhaji was the worst and it is supposed to be signature dish! was onion and tomato paste, i felt conned.
all buffets especiallybreakfastbuffet is delicious. worth every cent.

this place is having a wonderful view point with respect to the water front..

it serves a buffet in the afternoon, which had combination of all food cuisines but in a limitation of the same...

limited food but quite good to enjoy the view and enjoy the same...in the hot summers also it is good as place is closed cubical type...ac bills of the hotel should be quite high...

but the view also compliments to the food and enjoy the same...

it also servesbreakfastand dinner at the same place ...enjoy the same...wine collection seems to be good
