great cheese. sensational range of cheeses, mighty tasty toasties and a reallygoodcup of tea in front of a log fire. made me pretty happy.

hard not to buy a heap of cheese to take home.

i love cheese. there i said it. cheese is more than a tasty little snack, it's almost an obsession but i digress. this place is a cute little place were you can try half a dozen cheeses and a few in house beers. they also serve sgoodselection of cheese platters, baked brie, wood fire pizzas, cakes and slices. a great little stop!

after reading loads ofgoodreviews about this place, we finally visited it. the cheese tasting you can probably avoid. other than that, the milkshakes, pizza and mushroom & cheese sandwich were out of the world. a must visit for cheese lovers.

our first destination was the bruny island cheese co. & beer co.
the restaurant was really cosy, we took a table outside to enjoygoodsunny weather while enjoying fantastic warm weather.

we ordered “bruny island cheese platter” for 30.00 aud.
we chose the following cheese options:
- raw milk c2 *hard, natural rind, raw milk* ( it is the sort of cheese found throughout the mountain of france and northern italy. a classic cooked curd cheese made in the traditional large wheels. c2 matures for 6-12 months, during this time it develops a sweet aroma & mildly nutty flavour. the rind is wiped every week to encourage the surface bacteria that provide this cheese much of its robust integrity )
- george *hard, natural rind* ( it is a semi hard cheese aged for 6-8 months. savoury with a creamy mouth feel and flavour reminiscence of cheddar )
- o.d.o *fresh and marinated in olive oil*( it stands for one day old and that’s what it is. a simple fresh cheese that relies inherently on the quality of milk to deliver its flavour. it has a relatively low salt content and a strong lactic acid flavour. odo is marinated in olive oil with fresh garlic and herbs )
our favourite respectively was c2, george and o.d.o.
this cheese platter wasgoodvalue for thegoodquality of cheese.
the platter was also accompanied by the fresh baguette.
note: you need to ask for more baguette *free* if you’re running out of the baguette while having with cheese.

we also ordered the cappuccino for $4.50. the coffee was too pricey and it wasn’t really good.
the taste wasn’t balance. not recommended to order the coffee when you come to this place.

overall, we had great time of the cheese platter and not the coffee.

came on a monday morning and ordered the cheese platter, which was pleasant and came with bread and some pickles. we also ordered some coffees, which were absolutely dreadful, i would assume at a place that is so focused on milk products that they might serve decent coffees... 
we ordered at the counter, which is fine but the staff seemed a bit scattered and it wasn't clear who we ordered with or who was already serving people. it's agoodthing we were there early as well because when we went in to check out the cheese store section it was absolutely packed.
it's also lovely to sit outside if the weather isgood- it can be quite tranquil as long a big tour bus hasn't stopped.
not bad if you just want to come in and taste some cheese or purchase it but i wouldn't recommend the coffee!

came to bruny island to look around and this place was on the main road after we got off the ferry. they had a really nice rustic surrounding, perfect for relaxing brunch. we ordered ploughman's lunch platter for $25. the portions were very small, but the smoked salmon was just so mmmm, their cheese were really nice and their home made sourdough rye bread was really nice as well. it would have been reallygoodif the price was $18 mark😁

loved their sourdough fruit toast with butter and locally made jam. it came out with about six thinly cut slices which was still nice and warm. the toast wasgoodenough to have on its own. yum!

wife and i had the $30 cheese board which was big and tasty. some of the cheese wasn't to our liking but it gave you agoodsample of what they offer for sale. staff weren't friendly which was disappointing.

great place to have breakfast or lunch especially for cheese lovers. nice seating aread outside of the shop. you can get many interesting local products there as well. we had baked otto and ploughmans platters for brunch, both were lovely presented. newly found that semi soft or baked cheese tastes reallygoodtogether with tomato relish.

delicious cheese and the young guy doing the tastings was friendly and knowledgeable. we ordered the cheese plate for 2 and loved the cheese but the bread was very disappointing - it seemed stale and this kind of ruined it. spiced cherries were yum. if the bread had beengoodit would have been perfect.
