via pennicott wilderness journeys. best cheese you will ever have id say. absolutely delicious, and to top it off they do great beers too!  the shop has all kinds of sauces/jams/relish/spices - all high quality. tried several cheeses that day and a beer, bought a 500ml bottle of their stout and a nice sized block of their cheese to snack on during the rest of my stay in hobart. i was hooked though, once i got to launceston i tracked down some in a craft beer shop and bought another 3 bottles. now 2 weeks later back from my holiday,  i have made an online order for more cheese and beer  :)

great cheese. sensational range of cheeses, mighty tasty toasties and a really good cup of tea in front of a log fire. made me pretty happy.

hard not to buy a heap of cheese to take home.

had smoked salmon pizza. too salty, not much toppings for $28. my little girl found plastic in her mouth when we already had it all. never visit again.

i love cheese. there i said it. cheese is more than a tasty little snack, it's almost an obsession but i digress. this place is a cute little place were you can try half a dozen cheeses and a few in house beers. they also serve s good selection of cheese platters, baked brie, wood fire pizzas, cakes and slices. a great little stop!

after reading loads of good reviews about this place, we finally visited it. the cheese tasting you can probably avoid. other than that, the milkshakes, pizza and mushroom & cheese sandwich were out of the world. a must visit for cheese lovers.

is it a tourist trap? no
is it a foodie/cheese trap? yes if you let yourself go.
it's one of those spots where u know the cheeses are made with love and served with lots of care too. a brief but informative cheese tasting session helps one along in purchasing cheese.
now, i will start ordering cheese from here!!! been receiving the emails but never took too much notice.
the hard cheeses are my favourites and i can't wait to try the one wrapped in prosciutto.
would have rated it 5 if there were smaller portions of cheese to purchase.

absolutely love the setting here. the cheese tasting was disappointing, however. thought the cheese was bland and lacked flavour. i've been told the beer is awesome though!

we ordered the “otto” cheese- cheese wrapped in prosciutto baked in the oven served with wood fire sourdough, jam and beetroot relish.
the cheese was amazing melty goodness, and the combination of all the flavours meshed well.

highly recommended!

i visited this place a few years ago, and this is the second time being here. the business used to be very quiet, but it is now full of tourists. taste of their cheese is alright, and i personally don’t like the strong and bitter flavour in cheese. tried their farm fresh milk, which is really good.

a trifecta of greatness. great cheese, truly amazing woodfired bread, (using local stoneground wheat) and awesome beers.

the cafe is also a great way to sample the offerings here.

4.5 for me.

our first destination was the bruny island cheese co. & beer co.
the restaurant was really cosy, we took a table outside to enjoy good sunny weather while enjoying fantastic warm weather.

we ordered “bruny island cheese platter” for 30.00 aud.
we chose the following cheese options:
- raw milk c2 *hard, natural rind, raw milk* ( it is the sort of cheese found throughout the mountain of france and northern italy. a classic cooked curd cheese made in the traditional large wheels. c2 matures for 6-12 months, during this time it develops a sweet aroma & mildly nutty flavour. the rind is wiped every week to encourage the surface bacteria that provide this cheese much of its robust integrity )
- george *hard, natural rind* ( it is a semi hard cheese aged for 6-8 months. savoury with a creamy mouth feel and flavour reminiscence of cheddar )
- o.d.o *fresh and marinated in olive oil*( it stands for one day old and that’s what it is. a simple fresh cheese that relies inherently on the quality of milk to deliver its flavour. it has a relatively low salt content and a strong lactic acid flavour. odo is marinated in olive oil with fresh garlic and herbs )
our favourite respectively was c2, george and o.d.o.
this cheese platter was good value for the good quality of cheese.
the platter was also accompanied by the fresh baguette.
note: you need to ask for more baguette *free* if you’re running out of the baguette while having with cheese.

we also ordered the cappuccino for $4.50. the coffee was too pricey and it wasn’t really good.
the taste wasn’t balance. not recommended to order the coffee when you come to this place.

overall, we had great time of the cheese platter and not the coffee.

must stop place when visiting bruny island. we had the one day old brie wrapped in prosciutto and baked, with a big bread serving it was delicious and was a great snack. we also tried all the cheese in the deli section and ended up buying a saffron cheddar which was expensive but delicious. the beer taster paddle was also good!

took the ferry across and the views were great from get go. unfortunately got here same time as 2 tour groups so the staff were stretched thin. but great friendly service once we did get served.
the cloudy bay ipa is perfect for the cheese platter we got. and sourdough is made from wildfire so well worth trying. and the cheeses are fantastic. the 1792 was a stand out.
