worst food. we have been here a few times over the years but never again! thefoodhas become so bad, on our last and final visit we couldn't eat it. we asked for the bill, paid and left without eating. new chef required, applicants apply within

loved thefoodhere! so different from other places! the service was pretty good as well! i would definitely come back! we had a huge breakfast for 2 and make sure to order the pancake too!

this is one of the bestfoodplaces in bondi for breakfast, lunch and dinner. cafe food, but special. excellent ingredients. make sure it’s open before you go!

agree with some of the comments below -foodwas amazing. however one of the female staff who served us was really rude and snotty, it pretty much ruined the whole experience (other staff were really nice and helpful though) ..

we took our overseas guests here . thefoodwas outstanding - we loved the extra touch of olives, bread and brownies . i had the fish pie which was scrumptious ! service was great ! will def be back

they have lovely fried egg with herb. this kind of mediteranianfoodwhich suit for your hungry tummy. nice place with good environment around

give yourself a bit of time because thefooddelivery is a bit slow, but definitely worth the wait, nice accurate preparation and tasty dishes.

my boyfriend and i went here for a dinner the first time we arrived in australia and loved it! we tried to come back again about three years ago, but couldn't get a spot without a booking. spending a weekend in sydney was the perfect occasion to come here again. all their meat is free range which means i can pick anything from the menu. we took the charcuterie board, the rib-eye with a coleslaw side and had a chocolate fondant dessert. all of it with a bottle of amazing italian red (forgot the kind it was). thefoodwas lovely, with as top dish definitely the dessert. still love this place and would definitely come back again (don't say that often!).

found this place through a zomato search, and boy was i glad! only a ten minute wait for a table for 4 on a sunday morning during peak-hour was excellent. the service was friendly and thefoodwas exceptional. only gripe was the granola should come with milk, but otherwise we were pretty damn pleased with this little corker. we will be back!

a local friend recommended the place, so stopped here for brunch before checking out the sculptures. expected the place to be full for saturday brunch, but it was only about half full. however it still had a great vibe about. thefoodwas devine! i had the asparagus & parmesan poached eggs with jamon serrano (spanish ham). the truffle oil added great fragrant to the dish, the poached eggs were perfectly oozy. the service was ok. a good brunch option around the area.

got told to visit this cafe by a friend of a friend because thefoodwas really sensational. i agree - thefoodwas amazing and had it not been for the rude and snotty staff i would be back in a flash. unfortunately, the staff didn't accommodate. they weren't happy to see us nor were they checking up on us with ourfoodand drinks. we didn't get thanked when leaving or even a goodbye. maybe we weren't bondi hipster enough for them - not sure. but i'll never return which is unfortunate on the chefs because they made a great meal. disappointing.

the only thing that lets this place down is the incredibly poor service.
i visited brown sugar with my sister for breakfast as she told me the pancakes were the best she'd ever had! the breakfast/ brunch menu was extensive and deciding on what to order was difficult because it all sounded great. unfortunately, we waited around 25 minutes before even being served despite the cafe not being too busy. when we ordered, the waitress was rude and inconsiderate. i was reluctant to even stay because of the poor service we received.
when thefoodfinally arrived it was good. i tried some of the pancakes which were really nice and i ordered the mushroom/ veggie breakfast which was tasty. thefoodhere is fresh, tasty and unique but if you can't get past exceptionally rude and poor service then i wouldn't bother visiting brown sugar.

heard very good reports about this cafe from lots of people, and being a massive foodie i was naturally very keen to check it out.. but i was very disappointed! service was pretty ordinary and very slow, and when thefoodcame out i was disappointed but my mates looked a lot better still very small considering the price but was nice , and the pot of tea i ordered was a rip off barely got a cup and a half out of it.. hopefully if i come back it will have improved.

i cannot fault this place. the staff were so friendly and attentive. but thefoodwas the shining star. we started with one of the specials which was a grilled fig salad, the flavours were an explosion. i had the barramundi, chick pea and black rice dish for main along with a beetroot and goats cheese salad as a side and it was probably one of the tastiest dishes i've had. and to top it off we didn't order dessert but they gave us a taster of their brownie on the house. boom!
