must try the cheese fries and cheese burger. the buns are deliciously soft and the burger feels light to eat.

for kids try the mac and cheese which is so good too.

for dessert the classic waffle is perfect and the best end to the delicious meal!

absolutely disappointing went to grab a bite just before closing at brooklyn brothers bedfordview , despite a decentservicethe kitchen managed to disappoint together with the manager on shift. a shift manager should of been around to check the order is correct. order a vegetarian burger with extras of mushroom and guacamole only to be disappointed at home with nothing but a patty with a bit of tomato and lettuce and bland flavour. thank goodness i ordered the extras ( neverless to say those extras were not around to add to flavour ) a place that was once a place of choice i will rather go to a more reliable fast food joint than wait for quality food that simply doesn’t deliver. funny how they remember the extras they didn’t charge for but remembered the two additional beers. won’t be recommending them any time soon.

quiet night in bedfordview,servicewas on point and fast however the food didn't live up to the hype. i had a custom made burger and onion rings . the burger patty was tasty but unfortunately the bun had far too much butter which detracted from the taste of the elements in the burger. perhaps my experience will be better next time.

and i finally made it to my first brooklyn brothers..  having eaten at and been to brooklyn in nyc several times over the past ten years, the name caught my attention a few months back but life happened. 

this modern american diner, specialising in buffalo style chicken wings, burgers and craft beers popped up on my radar again though recently, whilst trying to source the best sticky chicken wings in johannesburg and was recommended to me by several foodies as having just that! 
why? my partner's favourite meal is sticky chicken wings! and off i went in search of the best chicken wings in johannesburg learning just how bad some chicken wings actually are at restaurants around south africa. 

the bb interiors have a distinct brick face look about them, almost a rough and rugged, no frills look.

brooklyn brothers pride themselves on their wings, which come in portions of 4 - 100 (yes 100). these wings are crispy fried and handspun, then served in a variety of 20 different flavours:
buffalo honey 
honey teriyaki
tikka
bourbon bbq
peanut satay
jazzed hoisin
garlic parmesan
honey mustard
lemon, herb & garlic
sticky maple, 
smokey bbq
lime, coriander & ginger
sour cream & chives
salt & vinegar
cajun

then there are the hot sauces:
suicidal
screaming
scorching
sizzling
smiling

wings: 5/5.
service: 3/5.
ambiance: 3/5.

i sadly did not have my camera on me for this visit, but shall return soon to photograph and do these chicken wings justice! 

 *recommendation: if you are looking for a no-frills joint toserviceyour sticky wings craving, (so far) this is best one that i have discovered in johannesburg and i can assure you that they have a sauce to suite every taste!

had a quick lunch here today.serviceis really fantastic. the staff are super friendly and attentive. burgers are nice, but a little oily to be honest. definitely better than roco mammas. cheesy bacon fries were pretty damn good. also had a bourbon smash cocktail, was enjoyable and refreshing. will be back to try the wings cause they looked really good.

great burgers, all round not a bad option for a quick bite in a mall. reasonable beer selection although a tad pricey for some fairly common beers. theservicewas good.

have had recommendations for this place and decided to go through for a casual lunch and try it out .servicewas good and waiters were friendly . we had the "brooklyn brothers " burger and the "the boss " burger with a large fries to share . burgers were reasonably priced and i liked the selected extra toppings that were "on the house". burgers were big and filling , however both were quite flavorless and lacked that sensation of wanting more . the "brooklyn brothers" burger was average and "the boss" burger was more like a mid-level employee . overall the experience was mediocre and i would prefer another local burger franchise as my personal preference.

amazing place... foods good all around, drinks are on point,serviceis outstanding.... if you are a fan of rocca mamas you will love this place over all better experience but rocca still has you on the burger.... enjoy the beer selection and novelty drinks aswell

i decided to try brooklyn brothers today after hearing rave reviews about it. i got a take away of their single cheeseburger (beef) and regular fries.
theservicewas great and i received a friendly reception.
when i opened the stapled bag to eat my meal, the fries were piping hot and delicious. unfortunately, i discovered they had cooked my burger 'medium'. i always eat beef 'medium-well' to 'well-done', and had i known this was the way they do burgers here, i would have requested it to be made to my preference.
i decided to try it anyway, but after a few bites, i could not go on. i just could not stomach the rare meat.
i wish when they take your order they would ask you how you want your burger done.
i will know the next time to say 'well done' or 'medium well' at least.
the flavour of the burger from the bites i had was good, and the bun was so soft, and fresh.

update:

went back to bb bedfordview for lunch. a complete 180 experience. we had a really good meal and the bacon and cheese fries was a winner this time. i will definitely be back for those. the staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. this branch of brooklyn brothers has upped their game!

initial review:

theservicewas not great. the place was not busy however after being seated we were ignored and had to get up to locate the waiter, who was quite dismissive towards us. despite placing a small order he forgot our chips . this did not make for a good first experience but the thing that will never make me go back is the fact that i found plastic in my bacon and cheese fries! not sure how this place remains open.

firstly i'd like to thank the owner of this little restaurant for inviting us back to retry their menu that changed just because of an intital bad review! the first time we visited brooklyn brothers we were very disappointed and my review was absolutely terrible. the management read the review and got straight back into contact with me and invited my brother, mother and i back to retry their menu that had been changed based on my initial bad review.

the food we were served up was fantastic and absolutely abolished the memories of the bad food we had at the first time. the nachos and chicken wings i initially was so heartbroken about had now evolved into something more delicious and spectacular than i could have ever imagined and i devoured it in minutes flat! we had milkshakes and hot chocolates which were like a gift from the gods and the only bad thing i could say about it is that you finish them! eventually there is an end... they are so scrumptious you don't want an end to them!

this place's customerservicereally impressed me and so too did their food. so much so that i could not help but to change my review in a heartbeat. this place has really great food and i'd recommend it to anyone who's in the mood for some good food. i decided to keep aspects of my initial review as there were positives as seen in the following paragraphs.

let's start off with the place's staff. we walked in at 8:30 and were greetes by a troop of smiling and pleasant staff. they didn't even tell us they were closing at 9; we had plans to sit and watch the game tonight and only upon asking the waiters what time they close they let us know but said they would be willing to wait until we leave before they close completely. we were warned that they would start cleaning at 9 though at that point. our waiter was so friendly and for someone as indecisive as my brother and i; he was so helpful in helping me decide what to eat and being patient with my brother who ordered - cancelled - ordered again and cancelled and then couldn't decide what he wanted... and this was all over a milkshake. the barista offered some interesting conversation and the coffee he served up was fantastic! my mom had some sort of vanilla rum which was extraordinary. their waffles are fantastic and so too are the desserts.
