try it for breakfast or brunch. they have agreatmorning menu !! the muffins are fantastic too. sitting outside is fun and the server was smiling and attentive. maybe i will try a mimosa next time.

dined here several times and always had good food and fantastic service.. the wait staff does agreatjob. the menu is varied and interesting. for appetizers we've enjoyed the calarmari appetizers, brie, ahi tuna and onion soup. i love to get the french dip sandwich and the cuban panini is very good. the baby backs are prepared well and have a delicious unique flavor. my daughter likes the rack of lamb. the brick is definitely part of a growing list of places that we enjoy dining at for dinner or lunch.

neighborhood gem. i absolutely love the brick. it's a comfortable spot,greatfor special occasions, a first date, or just a casual night out. service is good, food is good, all consistent. i suggest sitting outside on the patio for brunch...just an all aroundgreatfind.

the brick is an average place to go.greatif u want some expensive, fair quality food. they have a good atmosphere. and good drinks. i kinda recommend

we had agreattime at this restaurant.greatfood,greatwine and the service was very good and quick. we didn't have to wait long for our food. i had the crab cakes with sweet potato fries and a side of the coleslaw. everything was really delecious. and my bf got the ribs. he also liked it very much. for desert we shared the cheesecake.it tasted good but for my taste it was too rich. but this is maybe just me. the next time i want to try the key lime pie!!

the food leaves something to be desired but there is a fantastic bar scene. drinks are always really tasty and the apps are fabulous. in agreatlocation and the atmosphere isgreatfor a date or for catching up with friends.

brunch eggs-traordinaire. went for brunch last sat. got the de rigueur bloody mary. it wan't over spiced, no big chunks in the glass, just a good, well mixed drink. had the crab & artichoke dip that was tasty. we both had the surf(crab) and turf(tenderloin) benedict. the eggs were perfectly poached for the yoke to mix with the housemade hollandaise into agreatsauce. the sweetness of the crab was agreatcounterpoint to the "grillness" of the tender steak. homefries were basic cubes, nothing special but fine. service by jeremiah (was a bullfrog) was on point, didn't lack for anything. next time: grits instead of potatoes and i'll order 2 bloody mary's!

this is my 2nd review. i used to like this place but today left me annoyed. i am 6 mon preggo and had a 16 mon in my arms. no one brought me a high chair they were all standing around looking at me, even the host as i was standing at my table. they were not busy, the other servers just passed me by, our server mia, so my friend walked to the back and grabbed one. our server saw that and said nada, she had no personality. my burger was not well done like i asked, i left pretty much the entire thing sans 4 bites around the huge red middle. server did not acknowledge it, again don't care. there was raw shredded cabbage under my patty, um ok?!? maybe that's a new addition or not. overall this place needs new servers who don't stand around and watch patrons. also learn how to cook a burger, that's kinda important. waste of $, waste of time. positive- loaded baked potato was great, spinach dip always good, i did enjoy that.

yummy. i go here a lot and consistently have hadgreatfood and service usually. there have been a few off days for service and once the fish entree was pretty much inedible and filled with bones (they comped me after they noticed i didn't touch it and the pile of huge bones). but overall, i do like the food here, the salads are fresh, the soups great, the weekend brunch is sooo good. i will return :)

lovely saturday evening spot, withgreatwine, food, & live music. all of my friends ordered something different and none were disappointed. service was average (not in a bad way)

love love love this place. the servers are superb. brunch has huge portions and the grits..... it's like a religious experience..... so good! josh is our fav server. all the servers are great. the management really cares about their guests. they know us by face and our puppy. this has to be my fav place ever to eat. the ambiance at night isgreattoo.

brick is brilliant. we wandered into the brick of avondale last saturday after a visit to the cummer museum and gardens. we had no idea we just missed the brick's famous brunch, but it really didn't matter. the meal and service we enjoyed were superb. we were greeted and seated immediately by a cheerful host. our waitress, anita n. was friendly, knowledgeable, and offeredgreattestimonials to our menu questions. my son tried the kobe beef burger with cheese for $14.50 and exclaimed "this is the best burger i've ever eaten!" truthfully it was his first kobe experience so that accounts for something. the burger came dressed with lettuce, no tomato, bermuda onion, pickles with mayo and ketchup on the side. he accompanied it with chilled couscous that was so yummy (yes, i sampled it.) hubs ordered the cuban panini at $9 and said it was very delicious - the best of both a traditional cuban sandwich and a hot, pressed-panini. he also tried the chilled couscous. when i asked the waitress if the warm turkey sandwich was any good, she offered "so good it has its own facebook page!" she was telling the truth. it was scrumptious and only $10. it had caramelized onions, swiss cheese, the chef's dressing and was served on ciabatta bread. the sandwich really melted in my mouth. i paired it with fresh cut sweet potato fries, which quickly left my plate as everyone in the group tried them and came back for seconds, thirds, etc. we will definitely return, and perhaps next time we'll try to sample that famous saturday/sunday brunch. if you find yourself hungry in avondale, there are several good places to eat -- but give the brick a try. ask if anita's working and request a table or booth in her section. you won't regret it.

what agreatplace to sit outside, under an awning watching the rain while having lunch! service was great, friendly and relaxed. we were made to feel welcome to enjoy a leisurely afternoon with our 3 (very quiet and well behaved) dogs. the lump crabcake sandwich was full of delicious crabmeat and the cheeseburger cooked to perfection. we will definately add the brick to our favorite eateries.

good service, poor food. i went to the brick today for a late lunch/early dinner (on a thursday). the decor in nice and the front house staff friendly. they seated my self and my 2 yr old with no trouble and even offered a choice of highchairs! wow don't see that everywhere. then things took a turn for the worse. my server tookgreatcare of us, no problems there. i ordered the potato encrusted grouper with creamed spinach with sweet potato fries as the side. garden salad , no croutons, and the champagne vinaigrette, this is an add($) on salad. the server told me it would be a couple of minuets for the bread, it was heating up in the oven. well , someone forgot to pull out the the par baked bread and while in the oven i still received bread with a refrigerator cold center and warm ends. i received new bread with no issue, it was fine. then the salad arrived. it did not have the croutons i didn't want, and the substitution on onion i did want. so far so good. here in my problem the cucumbers looked freeze damaged and the carrots where dry as if the where cut the day before. the tomatoes had no flavor, obviously kept too cold ( cold kills the flavor in tomatoes). the salad mix was washed but not well there where bits of wilted greens stuck to other leaves. now we come to the entree. the food runner brought it to the table and as soon as it was passing in front of me i noticed a smell. not so nice but i tried to pass it off as someone in the area having a bit of gas. with a bit of trepidation i took a bite of the grouper. first i want to say it is more or a grouper gratin , broiled mash potatoes on top, and a barely visible creamed spinach underneath. i took a bite and immediately spit it out, my daughter thought it was funny. the distinct flavor of ammonia and iodine lingering on my palate. i ate not another bite of food. the manager comped my meal, and i expressed my opinion as to the food. she told me they have been having trouble with their purveyors, small excuse for a restaurant with a good reputation. i think they have a kitchen staff that does not care and a chef that can't or won't properly train his/her staff. i believe in second chances but it will be a few months before i return.
