try it for breakfast or brunch. they have a great morning menu !! the muffins are fantastic too. sitting outside is fun and the server was smiling and attentive. maybe i will try a mimosa next time.

in an area of town where you have authentic middle eastern at the casbah fare and damn good bbq at the newer mojo no. 4 within walking distance and many more outstanding eateries within a short bike or car ride, brick is just not up to par with competitive cost and quality of food. as well they advertise a modern american menu that just serves classic dishes ranging from the 1970's through the 1990's without out as much as an updated plating technique. though from the sounds of the people i have talked to about brick, the average patron goes to enjoy a glass of wine and a sandwich or burger, which do happen to be the better deals on the menu.

forgot to mention the desert!! we got the" chocolate decadence"- to die for! it was wonderful and the best part of the meal!

i'll give it another shot- my husband and i just moved to jax and someone told us about this place so we went there our first night living here. i'm from north dallas and the atmosphere and surrounding shops reminded me of home! way smaller, but still! :) i got the ruben panini.. don't know why they call it that since it wasn't a ruben- no thousand island or s crout. but it was decent. my husband loved the fish tacos though! it was a cool place so i want to give it another shot- perhaps brunch next time!

not worth it. i have been to brick several times since moving to jacksonville. each time i go, i say i will never go again. i will usually wait 6 months to a year before i "forget" how much i don't like it and give it another try. the food is boring, usually not cooked well and way overpriced. if you are going to charge those prices, you need to offer a superior product and the fox across the street offers a product superior to brick. having never left there feeling anything other than disappointment, i can say i will not go back again. i do believe the only reason that restaurant stays so busy is because of the location. the interior is nice as well, but the restaurant doesn't seem to be well managed. servers are not personable or attentive and everyone seems to be running around without a clue.

dined here several times and always had good food and fantastic service.. the wait staff does a great job. the menu is varied and interesting. for appetizers we've enjoyed the calarmari appetizers, brie, ahi tuna and onion soup. i love to get the french dip sandwich and the cuban panini is very good. the baby backs are prepared well and have a delicious unique flavor. my daughter likes the rack of lamb. the brick is definitely part of a growing list of places that we enjoy dining at for dinner or lunch.

neighborhood gem. i absolutely love the brick. it's a comfortable spot, great for special occasions, a first date, or just a casual night out. service is good, food is good, all consistent. i suggest sitting outside on the patio for brunch...just an all around great find.

our server tina was amazing. so sweet and accommodating. the sangria are local and to die for. the atmosphere was pleasant. the food, over priced and over cooked. the lamb and the scallops were over cooked. i won't be coming back anytime soon for food.

the brick is an average place to go. great if u want some expensive, fair quality food. they have a good atmosphere. and good drinks. i kinda recommend

we had a great time at this restaurant. great food, great wine and the service was very good and quick. we didn't have to wait long for our food. i had the crab cakes with sweet potato fries and a side of the coleslaw. everything was really delecious. and my bf got the ribs. he also liked it very much. for desert we shared the cheesecake.it tasted good but for my taste it was too rich. but this is maybe just me. the next time i want to try the key lime pie!!

a little loud, but some of the best prime rib i have had in a very long time! the night we were there, they had a wonderful live jazz band. delicious cheese and charcuterie board too.

this particular area of avondale is very competitive due to the abundance of some spectacular restaurants, and  the brick,  has held its own for many years in this location.  definitely a neighborhood favorite gathering spot and on good days, the outside tables are in high demand.  i often bring my dog for lunch, they have one of the best veggie burgers available of any of the dog friendly spots i have visited. they do not take reservations, so it can be tricky to score a spot. it was early so we stopped in  for appetizers on our way to dinner at another spot.  we were fortunate to score one of the outside tables, like the last one, and on a beautiful florida day it was perfect.   service has always been sketchy but today we hit the mother lode.  our server, was just grand, he chatted with us, we ordered some wine and told him we would let him know when we needed more.  he took the cue and although he stuck his face out to check on us he never approached until we beckoned him.

the food leaves something to be desired but there is a fantastic bar scene. drinks are always really tasty and the apps are fabulous. in a great location and the atmosphere is great for a date or for catching up with friends.

brunch eggs-traordinaire. went for brunch last sat. got the de rigueur bloody mary. it wan't over spiced, no big chunks in the glass, just a good, well mixed drink. had the crab & artichoke dip that was tasty. we both had the surf(crab) and turf(tenderloin) benedict. the eggs were perfectly poached for the yoke to mix with the housemade hollandaise into a great sauce. the sweetness of the crab was a great counterpoint to the "grillness" of the tender steak. homefries were basic cubes, nothing special but fine. service by jeremiah (was a bullfrog) was on point, didn't lack for anything. next time: grits instead of potatoes and i'll order 2 bloody mary's!

i'm not entirely sure a french dip sandwich is worth $15 but ok. i like this place i will give it a try again and order something else.
