hands down favoriterestaurantin minneapolis! great business ethics fueled by sustainable local ingredients. it is so hard to choose what to order, the chicken, brisket, and catfish (only avail at the st.paul location) are all coveted. to start, the salad has the incredible house dressing and incredibly fresh radishes mozzarella and romaine. the corn bread is also phenomenal, very sweet and savory with honey butter. i can't go here without also ordering a side of yucca fries, cooked and seasoned to perfection. the wait can sometimes be a bit since it is a quaint space, but they have a great beer and wine selection (sangria and rose are bomb) to tide you over! service is usually excellent as well (only one instance did the waitress refuse my request for all white meat and had a rude manor). can't wait to stop again

i have been to their st. paul location before and have absolutely fallen in love with that place. thisrestauranthas its own uniqueness from outside and inside... inside the restaurant, the styling is very much “chipotle-ish” in a way   but much better at the same time... we ordered mostly from the lunch plates and got some rotisserie chicken, pulled pork, pulled beef, pulled chicken dish, some yucca fries with garlic seasoning,  plantains  and whole bunch of other things... everyone loved the food. the best part of brasa is that everything is organic and locally grown. that makes the food taste so much better!

my new favoriterestaurantin the cities!. thisrestaurant(both locations are fabulous) has simple food that is simply delicious! this is where we bring all of our out-of-town guests when we want to treat them to a memorable meal. i love the pulled chicken, the braised beef, the rotisserie chicken, yucca fries, chips with guac...um...pretty much everything!

i am so impressed with the kids menu, too. the portion sizes are great for my (very) good eaters. i love it that every waitress we've had asks right away when we order if they should ask before bringing out the kid's dessert. that is good training by management!

also, i feel that the price is very affordable for the quality of food that you receive.

love, love, love this restaurant!

nebraska fan. thisrestaurantwas listed as one of the top 18 must visit in minneapolis and it did not disappoint!!! the casual outdoor atmosphere is great. the staff and patrons were wonderfully friendly and the food exquisitely yummy. there was a wait but even their waiting area with picnic tables and tree stumps for seating is uniquely designed and adds to the experience you are sure to enjoy!

soul food. hands down one of my favoriterestaurantexperiences. the food is served family-style with enough to go around, and you still have money left over in your wallet! candied yams, cheddar grits, creamed spinach, collard greens... pure deliciousness.

the ambiance of the place is excellent, as well. with garage style windows that open in the summer time, a fire pit and outdoor seating.

brasa is not only a local favorite, but boasts some pretty solidrestaurantcred. from a james beard best chef (alex roberts) to being named one of the five meals not to be missed in america by adam richman, travel channel tv host and author. now, brasa can round out their list of awards by adding a 5 star review from if you can stomach!

an affordable standout. great organic and local ingredients. lovely meats. tasty sides.. i've gone to brasa many times. i used to live down the street. once you get used to the menu's ordering options, you will understand that your experience depends on either working with the group family style, someone ordering for everyone else, or everyone ordering on their own.

if you're going alone or want something light - the sandwiches are great with really thought out extras and...oh yes - brasa's meats!

there are four - the rotisserie chicken, the savory gravy covered pulled chicken, the slow roasted pork shoulder, and the braised beef. personally my favorite is the pork shoulder. it is great in sandwich form with those pickled veggies and ginger mayo... just perfect.

these meats can be very tender. the meats aren't drowned in their flavoring like in many grills or restaurants. occasionally the chicken ends up a touch dry... not the whole plate but a few pieces within it. really though this is some of the best meat in town and you can read where it comes from on the menu - that is always a good sign.

if you go in a democratic group you will likely run into trouble regarding the sides. the crispy yuca with mojo is a must try. otherwise i'm a big fan of a brasa style cabbage salad to balance all the meat and heavier sides out.

the cheese grits may have been authentic but they aren't my favorite. my grandma liked them though. i'd prefer the masa corn and cheese cakes. the yams and andouille are a good pick. the creamed spinach and jalapeno was pretty good but i wanted more spinach. still i'd give it a good grade. and then of course there are plantains. they aren't los andes perfect - but they are pretty damn awesome. for chip eaters their homemade chips are out of this world. the guac is also superb.

overall there are many choices and no failures. everyone will have an opinion on the different sides. that's part of the experience of ordering in a group. there are also seasonal offerings so check with the waiter. (like black eyed peas)

surly is offered too, on tap. this local beer is just one of the locally-sourced ingredients that have made their way onto the menu. picky eaters that want organic and non-factory sourced meat and veggies should breath a sigh of relief upon reading the menu.

the atmosphere is humble. therestauranttakes on a new character when the weather improves. there is outdoor seating. overall i like the not-too-fancy interior with bright woods and an open kitchen.

once we sat ourselves inside the warm golden interior of the former car garage, both the menu and our server informed us of the concept upon which therestaurantis based. to quote, “our menu is inspired by the diverse and wholesome home cooking found thr
