brasa...mmmm...in my dreams. that's how good this place is! not only is it simply clean and straightforward in atmosphere, but the food is the same - fresh, simple, great flavors.

this is my top spot to expose anyone to who comes into town. no bells, whistles or hefty bill at the end for some "fancy" plates of trying too hard cuisine - brasa just knocks other places out of the water! what i love the most? there's not a single dish that i have tried (i've had most at this point, although i'm a creature of habit) that i didn't love.

i'd recommend the chicken in whatever amazing creamy white sauce it's in and the yucca fries with it's amazing side sauce (i could take 4 orders of these in one sitting. lol.

ate here w/the family after a long day at the moa. what a fantastic surprise! i love the way you order family style, but there are smaller options for ordering also. we had 6 pc chicken (note "piece" = 1 qtr chicken), small beef, small pork, chips & guacamole, crispy yuca, 5 cornbread muffins, a beer, a sangria, & a mexican coke. $66 + tip. ordering method was good for kids, as our 2 rarely eat much. still, we had enough leftovers for at least 1 heavy meal, & i thought it was good enough to take all the way back to ok in a cooler. service was also extremely attentive. only downside was outdoor or un-air conditioned indoor seating. food is well worth overlooking that. please, please do yourself a favor & try this place over the moa options - you'll thank me for it!

good place, but plenty of better alternatives up the street. brasa's swell, and i've eaten there many times.

but many of the same great south and central american menu items can be found up the street at family places that are -shock!- actually owned by people from south and central america - often at lower prices.

for example, one of brasa's best meats is the slow-cooked pork. but it's no match for the roasted pork at chimborazo at 2851 central avenue ne. brasa's rotisserie chicken is more than matched by the halal rotisserie chicken at holy land.

as i said, brasa is great, and has that all-important hipster cred, if that's important to you. but the best news is that there are many great places just up the street in addition to the two places mentioned before - la colonia, taco reindo, adelitas - that will have great food at your table in less time than waiting in line at brasa.

finally!. after about a year on the wishlist, we finally crossed off brasa this past saturday. we arrived around 6pm and were told we'd have a 30 minute wait. considering that it was a saturday night, we had absolutely no problems with that. and considering oberon was on tap, i was a happy man. about halfway through our first drink, a table opened up and we were seated.

we had the 4 piece chicken, and small servings of pulled pork, rice and beans, slaw and the yams-and-chorizo dish. everything was absolutely delish. service was super fast and friendly.

there's not much i can write about this place that hasn't been written but i will say that the slaw had quite a bit of vinegar zing, which i personally love.

we ended up having some leftovers which i cannot wait to delve into tonight. well done, brasa, we will be back!

go there for lunch. they have amazing lunch deal where you can get a half sandwich (which is pretty big) and a side order. my favourites are the chicken sandwich, the pulled pork sandwich and the creamed spinach. delish! oh try the pickles with the sandwich and the guac with chips. this is what i love about america – you’ll find this gem of a place that serves amazing food at really cheap prices.

i will definitely be going again and will also begin taking people that visit from out of town. it's one of those cool little places that when you pull up your unassuming guests won't know what they're in for (since it looks like a automobile service center) and by the time that they leave, they will be in shock that a cute little place like that can have that level of cuisine.

i love meat!. this year's wedding anniversary fell on a monday after a long day at work. we just wanted something new and good, but didn't want to make a big deal of dinner. we made an excellent choice. casual, fun atmosphere with amazing food. don't pass up brasa if you are anywhere close. can't wait to get back and sample more!

great food!. i love this place. the best pulled pork i've ever had this side of the mason dixon. i used to go to this place weekly. since i moved a little further away its now become a monthly 'cant miss dinner'. i always take my friends from the suburbs here, due to the fact that this food is really amazing. not just suburb amazing, but seriously good, especially for the price.

i will tell everyone on here this, if you haven't been... go now! if its six in the am while ur reading this, just go wait at the door until they open! lol

brasa for paleo. went to brasa on a saturday evening and had a great meal, and was able to stay relatively paleo-clean the entire meal.

the saturday crowd was intense, but we made it just before the big rush (we got there at about 6). once seated we were right by the door, which made things a bit louder than usual, but it didn't ruin the dining experience.

the pork was the paleo meat of choice along with the cabbage and apple slaw. we order a small squash dish with andoullie sausage as well (sausage not so paleo). the food was great, the server was competent, and the night was off to a great start.

awesome, no frills food.... you can't miss with this place. the flavors are so rich, the portions so filling, the concept so great, and the price so right. i wish i lived behind this restaurant.

very good southern style soul food. i went here with my boyfriend and another couple and we had a great dining experience. we did have to wait for almost 45 minutes to get a table, however once we did we were not disappointed. we all had some drinks and decided to order a bunch of things and all try them. that is definitely the way to go because the prices are a little high and that way you get to eat a variety of items! we loved the food and will definitely be back!

finally made it.... and it's fantastic. had the rotisserie chicken with sides of plantains and andouille and yams. plantains were unreal- cooked perfectly and as addictive as crack. after going i see that everyone raves about the pork shoulder- will have to go back and for that and the yucca.

great food and good vibes. brasa has great food for the price and location. i like that they use the best ingredients and produce food that is comforting and tasty.

their roast pork sandwiche is truly one of the best meals i have ever eaten. just perfection with every bite.

i would stay away from the chicken though - in my experiences it has been very hit or miss. who likes dry chicken you know?
