bon temps grill

steak was good - rest of meal not noteable!. ate here for the 1st time last week. small place, friendly servers. a lot of families were there, which is usually a good sign. a little loud for my taste, though. we were seated in a corner booth and unfortunately, a speaker was mounted right overhead and the music blared all throughout our meal. could barely carry on a conversation. next time i will request different seating. had the 8 oz sirloin, rare. was cooked perfectly; not a great cut of meat, but not bad. came with two sides and i had the house salad, which was excellent. the balsamic vinaigrette dressing however, made my lips pucker - the vinegar was overpowering. my other side dish wasgrilledasparagus and the cook killed it. i mean, seriously - it was burnt to a crisp. not what i would callgrilledby any stretch of the imagination. i am willing to give the place a second chance, though - so to be fair, i will be back to try it again.

pleasant surprise!. went in for lunch with a friend and we were both surprised at the quality of the food. the service was great. the food came in a timely fashion and the garlic bread that was complimentary was entirely too tasty (if you know what i mean). one of the owners came by the table and seemed genuine when he asked how we liked it. i have already been back and found that the freshgrilledveggie sides are outstanding as the delicious entrees. i will be back and highly recommend. i can't wait to try the burgers ( which were huge) and the crawfish pot pie.

lots of potential here...give it a try!. my family and i decided to try bon temps grill since it is only a couple of miles from our house. this place has alot of potential! first of all, the staff was very enthusiastic and welcoming. our waiter was just a really nice guy who went out of his way to give good service (wish i could remember his name!). the menu has a lot of variety with some creative dishes which was a pleasant surprise. first, we were served this very garlicky bread which we all loved. my husband ordered thegrilledfish and i ordered the crawfish pot pie; we both got the zucchini and the jalapeno grits. my husband thought his fish was very good and seasoned well. my crawfish pot pie was so big and not only looked beautiful but it was delicious!!! one minor problem was that it was just above lukewarm in the middle. when a lady came by (a manager maybe???) and asked about our meal, i told her about the issue and she seemed very receptive. now, we did find the zucchini to be disappointing...soggy and bland. also, the grits were very dry and just didn't have much flavor. however, with the eager employees and the excellent service i think the food will only get better! definately worth giving this place a try!

nice atmosphere. the cypress and tin look really nice. i had thegrilledfish, which was very good. my gf had thegrilledchicken pasta, also tasty. it's traditional la food, slightly more upscale and refined.

different, interesting menu. gets lots of positive reviews. but i'm not a big fan. the food sounds and looks a lot better than it tastes. the crawfish pie in particular is a disappointment. thegrilledmeatloaf, on the other hand, tastes better than expected. in my book, this restaurant is a bit of a disappointment.

everything i have had here is amazing!!! my favorite is thegrilledtuna blt. burgers are huge and perfectly seasoned, crab cakes are the best in lafayette. they also have great service!

stopped here for a lunch on saturday. i was in a horrible mood when we arrived but bon temps grill soon changed that! the food and service were both excellent. the bbq shrimp and grits app were some of the best bbq shrimp i've ever had. for my entree i chose thegrilledredfish w/ sage sweet potato mash and brussels sprouts -- it was perhaps the best piece of fish i've ever eaten. we'll definitely be back!

wow... what a great place! tried this place for the first time tonight and will definitely be going back! we had stuffed mushrooms which were very good then salads. the creole ranch was very good! i had the special,grilledamberjack with citrus sauce over cheese grits and asparagus and it was fabulous! the fish was cooked perfectly as was the asparagus. my husband had blackened tilapia over sweet potatoes topped with crawfish and herb cream sauce. the seasoning was perfect. for dessert, we shared the bananas foster bread pudding... oh my yumminess!!! every staff member we came in contact with was very friendly and professional. the atmosphere was clean and comfortable and i am glad we got there when we did because this place filled up very quick! now i see why the parking lot is always packed. i am very happy with my experience at bon temps grill and would recommend it to everyone!!!

great lunch spot. i like this place for a slightly more upscale cajun meal. they have the usuals, plus fish tacos,grilledfish with choice of sauce, crawfish stuffed shrooms, a list of delicious sides and more. recommended. the place is small, though, so either go early or don't be in a hurry.

we were starving coming back from new orleans to lake charles. decided to take a chance and use urbanspoon to find a good place to eat. we hit the freaking jackpot. amazing food, awesome waitress, and prices weren't terribly scary. i would pay much more for the same food and atmosphere again. kids had gumbo, they didn't leave a drop. husband hadgrilledspeckled trout with lump crab and i had the shrimp and tasso pasta. all awesome. if we are ever in the area again we're gonna make it a point to stop back by.

disappointed. first time here. waited over 40 minutes to be seated. our server was fantastic. suggestion would be that when out of the special of the day inform your servers before they come to the table to promote the special. while our server was great, the kitchen sucked. once we were told that they were out of the special another choice was provided and suggested. when our entree's finally arrived my redfish was luke warm at best and thegrilledveggies were cold. management did speak with us about the temp of the meal. the owner wasn't very friendly about the poor kitchen service. did comp the entrée. don't believe i will return or recommend this establishment. no good time here.

great food. finally tried out bon temps grill last month and could not believe i waited so long! the food was delicious, the service was good and the portions were huge. the jumbo lump crab cake appetizer was melt in your mouth good, the shrimp poy-boys were big enough to feed two as was the crawfish pot pie. all of the main dishes were cooked and seasoned to perfection. thegrilledveggie side was undercooked but really wasn't even noticed with so much amazing food on the table. we finished off with the best bread pudding i have ever eaten; their bananas foster bread pudding. if you go for nothing else get that dessert.

food is absolutely delicious. the crawfish stuffed mushrooms are too die for! rich and earthy porky and creamy slight cheesy with a touch of red belll pepper it's a party in your mouth that you will not regret! just had the specialgrilledamberjack with roasted vegetables topped with a cream sauce and lump crab. me and girlfriend devoured it. we were both amazed with how elegant and well seasoned and prepared everything was. just outstanding! (previous visit) the brussels sprouts were tender, roasted just right and cooked with garlic and bacon. the jalapeno grits were very tasty and the beef short ribs were tender and on point. everyone at my table was very pleased with service and the food.

lying about orders?. i called in a to-go order yesterday, 2 burgers. i was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. i got there in 15 minutes; there seemed to be confusion about whether the order had been entered. i kept being told it was "almost done" and "being boxed right now" until i finally got the order. total time from placing the order: 42 minutes. i was charged full price, also. clearly, i was being lied to the entire time.

if they'd just admitted they forgot or had some kind of problem, and hadn't started the order, i would have left and eaten elsewhere, but would have gone back another day. now, however, we will no longer go there, and will not recommend it: that level of inconsiderateness to customers is inexcusable to us.

good burgers. i had a burger with bacon and cheese. the mister hadgrilledfish. others with us had burgers and alligator stuffed with boudin. everyone enjoyed their food. service was friendly and attentive, though they were very busy.

it's noisy and crowded -- i don't care for that kind of environment, but it seemed cheerful. the parking lot is usually packed in the evenings.

the fish portion was surprisingly large, well cooked, with a nice sauce. my burger was very good, and came with a side --grilledpotatoes -- which was adequate. the bacon was nicely crunchy, not all limp and rubbery, as sometimes happens with bacon in a burger.

we will definitely go back, maybe on a less crowded day, for burgers.

went for lunch, get there early. started get busy at noon. had tuna tartar was better than i expected. we had thegrilledsnapper andgrilledchicken. every thing was really good. will difinetly be back
