i ordered the mixed grill and i ate forever on it. the picture is what was left after i was done. the naan bread was phenomenal and the meats were all good. some of my chicken was a little overdone but all in all i think this is goodindianfood!

whether it was eat-in or carry-out, the food at bombay is spectacular!  flavors and dishes that will challenge your senses and tastebuds.  a few co-workers and i have even tried their lunch buffet and walked out very happy.  it was a small subset of their dinner offerings but everything was just as delicious.  the naan bread is a meal on its own, especially if you get their naan sampler.  this place screams out "authentic ethnic cuisine" and "comfort food" at the same time.  i never thought i would label anindianplace as "comfort food" but it seems everyone needs a nap after eating here.  and if you're looking for creating your ownindianbuffet at home, this is the place to go.  order a half dozen dishes, spread it out on the dining table and have everyone start grazing!  you'll have lots of happy tummies!!

we went there 4 days back. very disappointed. first of all, they don't understand the order properly since most of the staffs are non-indians. we were two and we ordered for tandoori roti, dal makhni and baingan bharta. the food is rubbish, tasteless and smells of tomato purée only. nowhere, anindiandish. the cook, i presume, is a mexican and have no idea how to cook an authenticindiandish. we were very hungry but couldn't eat even 20% of the servings, so bad it was. if you are looking for authenticindianfood, don't fall into this trap. it's rubbish.

overpriced, underwhelming food. i went here with my fiancé, and the food was medeocre at best. if you are hungry and find yourself here, you will be ok. you won't be thrilled if you've had legitamtely goodindianfood though, especially when you see how outrageously overpriced the dishes are. just under $20 for one serving of lamb tikka masala? the chunks that we got weren't good cuts of meat. i found it a little tough. the sauce wasn't as savory or creamy as it should have been. the tandoori chicken was ok. the spices used on it were good, but the (dark meat) pieces of chicken either weren't marinated or just weren't marinated long enough to have flavor. i literally are it and thought "this... tastes like chicken." the palak paneer is decent, probably the best part of the meal, so if you stay with the vegetarian dishes, you might be ok. i heard the lunch buffet is pretty inexpensive, so maybe that wouldn't be so bad, but i'm not willing to pay premium prices for medeocre food.

not bad. i was skeptical of tryingindianfood in alaska as it is hugely popular back home in england and i was unsure as to whether or not it would taste the same. the food was better than i thought it would be and definitely had an authentic flavor however i was pretty surprised by the prices. $17.95 for chicken korma is overpriced especially as there were only 5 or 6 pieces of chicken (although they were pretty big chunks). i also thought the naan were over priced $2.95 for a plain one is fine but to jack it up to $4.95 for adding garlic and literally 3 leaves of coriander??? also the poppadoms come with two of the tiniest pots of dipping sauce ever and if you want mango chutney with them you have to pay extra? in every otherindianrestaurant it comes with it... that's like a mexican restaurant charging for chips and salsa!
overall the food was tasty but i was put off by the prices. i have no issues with paying high prices when the food commands it and is worthy of it but this just wasn't worth it. i doubt i would go back.

bestindianfood in town! i hadn't really triedindianuntil bombay deluxe, but took a date here and loved it! the chicken tikka masala is absolutely amazing. i have it every time now, but the curries are great too. i go here for lunch sometimes for the less expensive buffets, but i also love taking a group of friends here for dinner, and this is where we had my birthday party. awesome!

great curries!. i was raised onindianfood, especially curry, so when i moved to alaska several years ago i was excited to find a restaurant up here for me to continue to enjoy my favourite type of cuisine! the curries here are delicious - my boyfriend and i usually get either the chicken makhani or just plain chicken curry. i would also recommend the samosas, chana masala, and any of the naans! also, 9 times out of 10 (once it was a little chunky for my taste), the mango lassies are delicious as well! -- a must for a spicy curry dish!
they also have a great online ordering and delivery service!

fyi: if you like spice and you're ordering one of the creamy curries such as the chicken makhani - spice up a level! a medium is pretty mild and the hot is pretty medium!

good food. this restaurant has the bestindianfood in anchorage. there are lots of options for vegetarians and vegans. their naan is soo delicious. the atmosphere lives a little to be desired, but isn't bad either. i always walk a way stuffed when we go here.

very enjoyable. my husband and i are new to anchorage. we have both lived all over the world and sampled a lot of excellent food. we were very satisfied with bombay deluxe. our server was lovely, the food was awesome! we had the chicken tikka lababdar ($18.95) and the aloo gobi ($12.95), no complaints about either dish. very authentic. the naan was awesome, wanted to try the garlic naan but it was almost $5 for a large piece cut into four slices. it is generally pricey, expect a $30-$40 bill for two people. we will be eating here a lot though, its that good. they also have take-out, delivery and order-online services. the decor is nothing special for upscale prices, also the wine list wasn't exceptionally impressive (but who drinks wine withindianfood??).

food looks like poo. i was using the restroom yesterday and for some reason bombay deluxe came to mind.

hate the food and don't like the owner.

beingindianand then knowing he has a place where people actually think the food is good makes me wanna hurl.

i said it "hurl" really people? go to nameste or yak and yeti.

owner is a dick and cheap. look at the kitchen? its dirty! ever heard of salmonella?

i guess people in alaska will eat anything crappy.

its okay. first of all, i'mindianand second the food here is alright the kebab and curry house on spenard is 200 times better than this place.
i don't get any cash or free meals from kebab house, i'm a engineer who moved here from la and ever since i moved here it has been a mission of mine to find really decent restaurants around town that even come close or is even worth for "you and i" the consumer to take out our hard earned money from our wallet and pay some guy who cooked for you.
bombay deluxe
pros:
1. clean place
2. nice variety of food during lunch
3. good service
cons:
1. bland taste not enough of the real thing
2. the manager is kind of rude
3. cheap on spices and seasoning

if you are not interested in tasting realindiandishes and just want to try something close to whatever.
this is your place. i wouldn't not recommend this place to friends who wanted to try something new and exciting.

greatindianfood!. we've enjoyed the bombay deluxe since they opened. these days we do the lunch buffet. our kids don't like spicy food so they don't eat much. the restaurant always discounts the buffet price for our kids. the adults always make up for what the kids don't eat. the food is so delicious that it's hard to stop. the food has been consistantly good with the exception of the last time we ate there when most of the food tasted like it had sat on a buffett for a few days. we'll be back.
ps: i do miss the cheese cubes in the spinach dish and the pistachios in the rice pudding, but then it is just a buffet. (march 1, 2012 update) we just had the lunch buffet again and i am glad to say the cooks are doing a great job again. everything was delicious. the bbq. chicked was delicious but the chicken in curry sauce was dry and tasteless.

love it but its way over priced. the food here is great, but forindianfood it is priced like it's a fancy steak house. you end up paying about $30 a person for something that any where else would be $15. i wish i could afford to go back.
