salsaman - self proclaimed food critic. i own the bombay deluxe restaurant. obviously, i am shocked to see kazi salsman's review about bombay's food. i just couldn't resist responding to his criticism. moreover, it wouldn't be fair to let his 'professional review' go as one of the anomalies.

i don't believe a professional food critic sits on the toilet and thinks about which restaurant i can bad-mouth today. all i can say is kazi's taste buds do not agree with close to 90% satisfied bombay customers' who have sent us positive feedback on urban spoon. the other 10% (besides kazi) do provide constructive feedback and we take their suggestions very seriously.

what do you say to a habitual complainer in a diplomatic way? - if this food tastes like poo, then you must be full of ????. maybe one should stick to his own field rather than be a self-proclaimed food critic or better yet open your own restaurant and prove you are right.

was that a turd!?. me and my friend showed up and ordered the mix grill with some coffee. we waited anxiously while the coffee brewed. when the coffee came, the creamer was from a goat, and made the coffee bubble up. when the food came, we were shocked when one of the meats was shaped like a human turd. after poking it with a fork, i decided to eat it and let my friend just have the bread. even though it wasn't, i felt the chef might have shaped it like a turd just to be funny. overall i thought this place sucked.

i ordered the mixed grill and i ate forever on it. the picture is what was left after i was done. the naan bread was phenomenal and the meats were all good. some of my chicken was a little overdone but all in all i think this is good indian food!

whether it was eat-in or carry-out, the food at bombay is spectacular!  flavors and dishes that will challenge your senses and tastebuds.  a few co-workers and i have even tried their lunch buffet and walked out very happy.  it was a small subset of their dinner offerings but everything was just as delicious.  the naan bread is a meal on its own, especially if you get their naan sampler.  this place screams out "authentic ethnic cuisine" and "comfort food" at the same time.  i never thought i would label an indian place as "comfort food" but it seems everyone needs a nap after eating here.  and if you're looking for creating your own indian buffet at home, this is the place to go.  order a half dozen dishes, spread it out on the dining table and have everyone start grazing!  you'll have lots of happy tummies!!

we went there 4 days back. very disappointed. first of all, they don't understand the order properly since most of the staffs are non-indians. we were two and we ordered for tandoori roti, dal makhni and baingan bharta. the food is rubbish, tasteless and smells of tomato purée only. nowhere, an indian dish. the cook, i presume, is a mexican and have no idea how to cook an authentic indian dish. we were very hungry but couldn't eat even 20% of the servings, so bad it was. if you are looking for authentic indian food, don't fall into this trap. it's rubbish.

overpriced, underwhelming food. i went here with my fiancé, and the food was medeocre at best. if you are hungry and find yourself here, you will be ok. you won't be thrilled if you've had legitamtely good indian food though, especially when you see how outrageously overpriced the dishes are. just under $20 for one serving of lamb tikka masala? the chunks that we got weren't good cuts of meat. i found it a little tough. the sauce wasn't as savory or creamy as it should have been. the tandoori chicken was ok. the spices used on it were good, but the (dark meat) pieces of chicken either weren't marinated or just weren't marinated long enough to have flavor. i literally are it and thought "this... tastes like chicken." the palak paneer is decent, probably the best part of the meal, so if you stay with the vegetarian dishes, you might be ok. i heard the lunch buffet is pretty inexpensive, so maybe that wouldn't be so bad, but i'm not willing to pay premium prices for medeocre food.

always good food and service. we had a dinner party here last night with nearly 20 people, many who had never been there before. everyone enjoyed their dish and the food came out all together, hot and delicious. i have always been a fan but know that after last night they have gained a few more.

very delicious food. best samosas in town so far. my son and i focus on a vegan diet and all we tried was very incredible. even the naan was perfect. the vegetable curry was off the chain.

not bad. i was skeptical of trying indian food in alaska as it is hugely popular back home in england and i was unsure as to whether or not it would taste the same. the food was better than i thought it would be and definitely had an authentic flavor however i was pretty surprised by the prices. $17.95 for chicken korma is overpriced especially as there were only 5 or 6 pieces of chicken (although they were pretty big chunks). i also thought the naan were over priced $2.95 for a plain one is fine but to jack it up to $4.95 for adding garlic and literally 3 leaves of coriander??? also the poppadoms come with two of the tiniest pots of dipping sauce ever and if you want mango chutney with them you have to pay extra? in every other indian restaurant it comes with it... that's like a mexican restaurant charging for chips and salsa!
overall the food was tasty but i was put off by the prices. i have no issues with paying high prices when the food commands it and is worthy of it but this just wasn't worth it. i doubt i would go back.

very disappointing. on a recommendation from a friend we ordered home delivery. i placed an order at 7.40pm and was told it would come within 45 mins as it was the only order. the order arrived at 8.45pm but it was only the rice, naan bread and panak paneer. we questioned the perplexed driver about the chicken and lamb dish we orderd and he said he would ring the restaurant. we never heard from the driver again.... the restaurant called and said the driver had given the rest of our order to someone else; would we like it redelivered asap? yes, we would, thank you. another call at 9.25pm asking if we had received our order? no, we haven't. oh, well we can't get hold of the driver, can we get someone else to redeliver? yes, please. 9.45pm i call the restaurant again, still waiting, and the restaurant now tells us no we are not sending the order but you can have your order for no charge next time.... no thanks, we want to eat tonight, can we have it free tonight? no, sorry, i can deliver it myself but you will be charged the full price. 2.5 hours after placing our order and still full price. no thanks, and we won't be back. you're dreaming. don't bother.

best indian food in town! i hadn't really tried indian until bombay deluxe, but took a date here and loved it! the chicken tikka masala is absolutely amazing. i have it every time now, but the curries are great too. i go here for lunch sometimes for the less expensive buffets, but i also love taking a group of friends here for dinner, and this is where we had my birthday party. awesome!

they have locally raised goat!. i love this place. i like them even more because they are one of the few places that serves lamb and goat meat. i talked to the owner awhile back and found out he works with local farmers to provide his lamb and goat. i think this is a great practice that needs to be supported.
i love the lamb vindaloo. it so wonderfully spicy. the paneer pakoras are a great appetizer, eat them with the mint sauce they give you. also, try a mango lassi. it's made out of yogurt and is great for cooling down your mouth after eating spicy food.
