best indian food in town! i hadn't really tried indian until bombay deluxe, but took a date here and loved it! the chicken tikka masala is absolutely amazing. i have it every time now, but the curries aregreattoo. i go here for lunch sometimes for the less expensive buffets, but i also love taking a group of friends here for dinner, and this is where we had my birthday party. awesome!

they have locally raised goat!. i love this place. i like them even more because they are one of the few places that serves lamb and goat meat. i talked to the owner awhile back and found out he works with local farmers to provide his lamb and goat. i think this is agreatpractice that needs to be supported.
i love the lamb vindaloo. it so wonderfully spicy. the paneer pakoras are agreatappetizer, eat them with the mint sauce they give you. also, try a mango lassi. it's made out of yogurt and isgreatfor cooling down your mouth after eating spicy food.

great curries!. i was raised on indian food, especially curry, so when i moved to alaska several years ago i was excited to find a restaurant up here for me to continue to enjoy my favourite type of cuisine! the curries here are delicious - my boyfriend and i usually get either the chicken makhani or just plain chicken curry. i would also recommend the samosas, chana masala, and any of the naans! also, 9 times out of 10 (once it was a little chunky for my taste), the mango lassies are delicious as well! -- a must for a spicy curry dish!
they also have agreatonline ordering and delivery service!

fyi: if you like spice and you're ordering one of the creamy curries such as the chicken makhani - spice up a level! a medium is pretty mild and the hot is pretty medium!

great food. obviously this is agreatplace for vegetarians. we love the food. the service is good. the only downside is the atmosphere isn't the best and sometimes it can be really cold if you sit near the door.

yummy don't mind the rude comments. salsaman it seems that you are unable to keep your comments professional and polite. if you don't like a place state it politely instead of acting like a child that wasn't taught any manners.

as for the food it is one of my favorite places to eat.greatfood and good portions, enough for lunch the next day. a little expensive but still delicious.

great indian food!. we've enjoyed the bombay deluxe since they opened. these days we do the lunch buffet. our kids don't like spicy food so they don't eat much. the restaurant always discounts the buffet price for our kids. the adults always make up for what the kids don't eat. the food is so delicious that it's hard to stop. the food has been consistantly good with the exception of the last time we ate there when most of the food tasted like it had sat on a buffett for a few days. we'll be back.
ps: i do miss the cheese cubes in the spinach dish and the pistachios in the rice pudding, but then it is just a buffet. (march 1, 2012 update) we just had the lunch buffet again and i am glad to say the cooks are doing agreatjob again. everything was delicious. the bbq. chicked was delicious but the chicken in curry sauce was dry and tasteless.

great food /sometimesgreatservice. awesome food. awesome menu.
the lunch buffet isgreatbut a little pricy.
they deliver, but the delivery charge is $5....way too high for me. most things are well-cooked, and the taste is great. some things were over-salted though.

most of the servers are polite, friendly, andgreatat their jobs. others (one in particular) make it obvious that they are only interested in getting a tip...such as offering extremely expensive items nonstop...like every time they walk by you, they suggest you order something else with a big price tag. sad to say but one employee can make you not want to eat there again.

give it a try!. i love this place. i was introduced to this place by some coworkers of mine and have been hooked ever since. i love the indian breads. my favorite breads include the garlic naan and the onion kulcha. the bread resembles pita bread and is made in the tandoor (clay oven). right when you walk into the restaurant there are two windows covered with curtains and behind those curtains are the clay ovens. i like watching them prepare the naan. my favorite entree is the chicken tikka masala. i love indian curry especially since i'm more familiar with chinese curry. indian curry? so delicious. you have a choice of mild, hot and very hot. i usually get hot or very hot since i love spicy food. their desserts are very delicious and so are their lassias (sweet yogurt drink). their employees are always very pleasant and attentive.greatservice. i have yet to try their lunch buffet. this is one my favorite places to eat here in anchorage. thumbs up. keep up the good work.

mixed feelings. i have heard, from a number of people, that bombay deluxe is your best bet in town for indian food. my husband and i went for dinner on a friday night. we were seated quickly and our waitress was friendly (at first). we ordered the "sampler plate" for an appetizer. we choose this item because it had a variety and it was the only appy that didn't say that it was deep fried. when the sampler came to our table it was a bowl full of deep fried food. we asked our waitress if this was right? why didn't it state that it was deep fried? my husband got the mix grill (wihich was $24) and i got the chicken biryani. all the meat in the mix grill was way over cooked and dry (chicken, shrimp, steak, ground meat) my husband ate only a fews bites of each and left the rest of the dish. my dish was very good, greatflavor, greatportion size. i could tell the waitress noticed that most of our food was not eaten, but not once asked if there was something wrong. instead she seemed to avoid our table and when we paid for the check there was no thank you, have a nice evening. it seemed that she was offended that we didn't eat the food....puzzling. not sure if we will return. was really looking forward to being blown away by the food as we were told we would be.

one of my top 3 in anchorage. bombay deluxe is a wonderful restaurant.

even after hearing a soaring review from a boss, i was a little cynical about trying the bombay deluxe at first. the location seemed a little shady and dingy; i wasn't totally sold. however, after our first meal here i fell totally in love.

i've been here several times now, and i have never had anything bad. the worst thing i could say about anything i've ever ordered from bombay deluxe is one time, the import beer i got was a bit skunky. however, all import beer is skunky...that's the risk i took!

the naan is fantastic, and both the meat and vegetarian dishes are always on point. the service has always been fast and attentive. the atmosphere is campy, but endearing. i always love the bollywood films they have on, on the tv at the bar (which always makes for agreatconversation).

the prices are high, it costs about $60-65 for dinner for 2. this would include: 2 beers, 1 appetizer, 1 or 2 orders of naan, and 2 entrees. however, you get a hearty serving of delicious indian food for lunch the next day out of the deal (totally worth it!).

i love the bombay deluxe, it is definitely in my top 3 restaurants in anchorage. you won't have any buyer's remorse with this one!

great place!. excellent, friendly service, incredible food, greatatmosphere. the owner often waits the tables himself, offers helpful suggestions and explainations of the menu items, and serves it all up with a smile! good beer and wine selection and very kid friendly. they also have space for large parties in a separate room. if you like indian food, i highly reccomend you make this a destination next time you are eating out!

good lunch buffet. never been there for dinner, but have been there many times for their lunch buffet ($11.95). good selection of dishes. good food, friendly service, and agreatdeal! not as imaginative of a menu as yak and yeti, but good for a quick lunch buffet.
