bogart's smokehouse

disapointed ... again.. i can eat anyplacei like when the time permits and i do like local places versus the typical chain restaurants.
today i decided upon bogart’s as in the past the food has always been good, the wait in line may be long, but usually worth it. my criticism today is that i have been there a few times and now the same thing has happened twice. iplacemy order (beef brisket) and when i get home it is pulled pork!!! i did not order pulled pork i do not like pulled pork i like beef brisket.
i understand how busy bogart’s gets and being busy is a good sign for a customer because it usually indicates the restaurant has good food. but, please you do not know how disappointing it is to get home open your container and find pulled pork when you were all set for beef brisket. i can accept it happening once, but twice….?
sorry bogart’s it may not mean much to you, but you lost a customer with your bad order fulfillment practices.

new star on the rise!!. visiting from texas, and stoped by theplaceon recomendation. our bbq is more of a dry rub and flavor. a great difference in the wet style. the flavor of the ribs have a unique spice balanced with just enough sweetness... outstanding! unique to the menu is the deli sliced prime rib. yes, deli sliced. the meat cooked to med rare perfection, retaining all the natural juices and smoke. the other meats on the menu are also smoked to perfection and more than worth a try! a whole seperate review could be given for the complimental side items. the spicy yet sweet baked beans with pulled pork (sticky to a fork), devil'd egg potato salad, and more completely round out a great dining experience of st. louis bbq. even after visiting the older big brother near town, this younger sibling is maturing and coming into a name of it's own. after trying bogart's, it'll be hard to campare on the same level of the other place... bogart's will remain on one's tongue, just like it's smoke and flavor!

excellent bbq. without question the best brisket i've ever had. these guys know how to smoke. the sausage fatty wasn't as good as the brisket but still well above average. the best part? the baked beans. unbelievable, with what has to be a fair bit of molasses and pieces of their pulled pork. i could almost just eat those beans.

yes, theplaceis small, and yes, you have to wait in line for a bit. i'm sure that's off-putting to some folks, but i'd rather go to aplacewith great food and have to wait a few minutes than go to an emptyplacethat sucks.

must have!. i couldn't live without a smoked turkey sandwich from bograt's. the food is great and the employee's make you feel like your at home. this is hands down my favoriteplaceto eat.

honestly i think this beats even pappys. the ribs are the best thing for sure. also the pulled pork is very good. this is a perfectplaceto bring people from out of town.

best bbq in town! i've heard about thisplacefor a while but was hesitant to try since i'm very picky when it comes to bbq. i've tried the pulled pork, baked beans and potato salad and it was amazing! the pulled pork was very tender, no fat at all and very flavorful! their potato salad tasted amazing as well as their baked beans! their pineapple bbq sauce is the best i even bought some to take home! this is one of the best bbq restaurants i've ever tried and between here and pappy's which are both equally amazing, i dont think i could even think about trying anywhere else!

theplaceto visit for lunch is bogart's smokehouse - recommended by many colleagues... a lot of well cooked, saliva inducing, tender, juicy meat!

best bbq ribs. i've eaten at several renowned bbq joints & thisplacehas the best ribs anywhere! the seasoning is spot-on. the smoke is not too overpowering. the sauce, although good on its own, makes it a perfect combo.

the prime rib is a sand which, not the full cut of meat.

theplaceto go for great bbq in st. louis. if i had to pick one bbqplacein st. louis to recommend it would be bogart's. everything they serve is outstanding, but it's their ribs that set them apart. the ribs are so good that i can't order anything else anymore, because if i do, i leave wishing that i had gotten the ribs instead. the service is great, and you usually don't have to wait in line much longer than 5 or 10 minutes.

so good! and this is coming from an alabamian!. we were looking for lunch and found thisplaceon urbanspoon... the chef warned us on the way in that it would blow our minds, and ummm, he was right. the service was outstanding, starting with the bama fan who took our order. he recommended one of the big combos, so we could try a little of everything.... he said we had to have the ribs. i never eat ribs, but these were insanely good. perfectly seasoned and tender. my fave meat was the sliced prime rib. my group unanimously voted the baked beans as the fave side... my b/f's mom was ready to barter anything for the recipe. but everything was great... the pickles, deviled egg potato salad, coleslaw, all the different bbq sauces (the pineappe was my fave). my only complaint is that there was no beer... the only thing that would have made an amazing meal completely perfect!

disappointed. i paid over $15 for two small sides, two extremely small portions of meat and a soda. don't get me wrong, the food was very tasty and i enjoyed trying the variety of sauces available, but more than a bite of each would have been nice. when i order pulled pork i like to eat some pulled pork, not just taste it. and another thing - very loud! could not talk with the friends i was with over the general noise of theplaceand the loud music. also, as soon as i placed my last bite in my mouth they grabbed my plate and i felt rushed out the door. a goodplaceto "eat lunch" - maybe. a goodplaceto "have lunch" - definately not!

this is great memphis style bbq. great ribs and pulled pork. the brisket is incredible. the prime rib is where it's at though. don't leave thisplacewithout trying it.

loved it!. loved it! we waited in line, outside for about 15 minutes durring a lunch rush, but it was sooo worth it. they used a great marketing technique by handing out ribs to everyone waiting in line. and you know what, probably half of those people in line ordered the ribs! definately worth your time to check out thisplacefor lunch. we loved it so much we recommended our company order for a luncheon coming up :) i can't wait!!

over hyped. don't get me wrong, the food was pretty good. but it was way too small and cramped to really enjoy the cozy atmosphere plus there is no where to wait in line. i was there with a buddy and i had the pulled pork and he got the pastrami. both were fine, but i just think this is just another fascination with a new restaurant. but my pork was kind of dry. overall the smell and taste was good. i am happy there is anotherplaceto eat in the neighborhood. but given the prices, limited hours, and cramped space, and the not amazing food, i think i will be going there again to give it another shot, but i am going to wait for the hype to die down.
