went looking for the best bbq, got one of the best meals. i stopped here during a cross country trip. famished, weakened by mid-summer heat, we waited sweltering in line. when a man walked up and spoke sideways to me, asking what i'd order, i told him, thinking nothing of it. five minutes later, the head chef walked back to me with burnt ends, beans, and a rib to sample and consider. i got burnt ends, and ribs. a burnt end salad to be exact, and ribs with sides. it was some of the best food i've ever eaten, my kitchen, any kitchen, in an uncountable number of restaurants. this is the bbq restaurant for foodies, chefs, and cooks. he came up to talk, one maker of food to another, and brought a sample of the pastrami for us to try. the bakedbeansuse scraps of meat from the cuttings and are very, very, very good. the burnt ends are slow cooked for a very, very, very long time, and are the best i've ever had, in fact the only one's i've ever liked, much less loved. i wish i lived here so i could eat at bogart's, maybe even live there. the farmer's market caty-corner across the square is from the early 1900's and well worth a visit as well.
