boardwalk beach restaurant & bar

my partner and i went there for lunch on sunday, it was busy but thestaffwere very good and our food arrived fast. delicious food - very generous, we ordered bruschetta and fish and chips. i cant believe it took us this long to try such a fabulous restaurant! i assure you we will be back

my partner and i had the absolute pleasure of dining at this restaurant on saturday the 5th of may. we were part of a larger group celebrating his daughters 21st, and we could not have wished for a better place to do that!
the first positive was the venue itself - what a superb setting and location. the area they had arranged for us was set perfectly with fairy lights and tealights on the tables creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
to add to this each member ofstaffwe dealt with was professional without being standoffish. some of us actually felt we were laughing and chatting with old acquaintances!
then came the food - wow!! we had a set menu with a choice of either chicken, fish or steak. at our table we tasted some of each meal and would've happily had a sample plate of each as it was hard to say which was the best.
i can honestly say we could not find fault with any part of the entire experience and would recommend this restaurant without hesitation!!

good quick service. the steak and chicken parmigana were great.staffall very polite and the restaurant has different areas to choose where to dine, and you don't feel crowded.  would go back for another meal.

called in, looked at menu. rang back later and asked for booking for 3pax next day, inside but with views.
arrived on time next day, table was exactly what i'd asked for.stafffriendly, and helpful. drinks, menus, ordering and meals served - all very timely.staffwere flat out bringing groups in and out due to weather but it all happened with smiling faces. the team here are well trained and happy in their work!!
food was very good, and as ordered. views and location brilliant. a really good experience!!
will certainly go back again if the opportunity arises.

my parents and i went here for the first time for dinner and it was incredible. the food was great, i especially loved the scallops. the salad was to die for and their beef wellington was really nice. everything was hot when it came out and thestaffwere friendly and didn't rush us or keep coming over. it was good and i personally think the food is worth the price. the wait time was normal for a busy restaurant and the view was great!
all round it was a really nice dinner and ill definitely go back again when i'm in napier ! :)

nathan. went for lunch with the family 4 kids and for 4 adults servicestaffgood but had to wait for meal but worth the wait great value for money. was looking for some great seafood for a evening meal around napier only place was the broadwalk we booked lucky arrived with the gang again a wait but we ordered the antipasta for starters the fishermans basket for 4 and the cold seafood plate for 4 . the meals came out enough to feed a army but fresh and great . if you're in napier must go sit back enjoy and don't worry about the wait

first of all i wish i had never gone there in the first place, the service was an absolute joke, thestaffacted as though they did not at all want to be working they had an attitude problem, when asked about the menu the waitress responded ' i'm to busy, just wait' what!!!! i have never in my life experienced such rude customer service, the meal was not at all great, it took a while for the our meals to come out. overall the worst experience ever!!!! do not dine at boardwalk, thestaffare rude and the food not up to restaurant standard.

we recently spent the weekend in napier and went out to dinner at boardwalk beach restaurant & bar on the saturday night. the food was wonderful and service great. good location and easy to find. the waitress who looked after us was just lovely, in fact all thestaffwere friendly. meal was good value for money. i would definitely recommend this restaurant.

i was with a group of people celebrating a birthday.

it was a fixed price meal. i ordered the scotch fillet.

thestaffwere friendly, efficient and well trained.

the kitchen my order and i was served last.
i watched the other steaks being served and they looked fabulous. when mine came it was half the size of the others and extremely thin. obviously a left over.the mud cake which followed was just a chocolate muffin, very dry.

i have been to the boardwalk before and purchased an excellent meal. perhaps the chef has changed.

although i only paid $30 for my meal (and $40 for the wine) i went away hungry.
