boardwalk beach restaurant & bar

my partner and i had the absolute pleasure of dining at thisrestauranton saturday the 5th of may. we were part of a larger group celebrating his daughters 21st, and we could not have wished for a better place to do that!
the first positive was the venue itself - what a superb setting and location. the area they had arranged for us was set perfectly with fairy lights and tealights on the tables creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
to add to this each member of staff we dealt with was professional without being standoffish. some of us actually felt we were laughing and chatting with old acquaintances!
then came the food - wow!! we had a set menu with a choice of either chicken, fish or steak. at our table we tasted some of each meal and would've happily had a sample plate of each as it was hard to say which was the best.
i can honestly say we could not find fault with any part of the entire experience and would recommend thisrestaurantwithout hesitation!!

coolrestaurantwith an awesome ocean view! have been there one a couple of occasions and always enjoyed myself. fries from there are some of the best in the bay!

taste just normal but very slow, we ordered a seafood plate but feeling like they just bought sth from supermarket and fried it, taste also old oil......and this dessert really makes me angry, custard was inside chocolate sth, totally taste weird, waitress never say sorry but can be refund money that's it... service really not good, maybe because public holiday nobody wanna working on this day i can understand, but thisrestauranti won't come second time, very disappointing. 还没来尝试过的朋友建议不要来了，服务态度极差，食物也很差，不值那个价钱，点了菜里面还缺斤少两，明明点了海鲜拼盘但是没有青口，

good quick service. the steak and chicken parmigana were great. staff all very polite and therestauranthas different areas to choose where to dine, and you don't feel crowded.  would go back for another meal.

we are not local people and travel to napier frequently as we enjoy the ambiance napier has to offer. we always book a table for dinner every time we travel to napier. this night we invited six friends who were also travelling to napier to join us. the night was a nightmare!! when we arrived we were told there was no paua, pork belly as a main or beef wellington. the waiter took our orders. three of us had pork belly as an entry, it was disgusting. it was deep fried in breadcrumbs and the roast vegetables underneath were so burnt we couldn't eat them. then the mains finally arrived what a circus. one of our party ordered a steak when he finally got it was very cold, this was sent back to the kitchen and his original steak was returned to him after it had been microwaved. another person ordered the fish of the day, which arrived so undercooked he couldn't eat it. i ordered the spicy seafood hotpot. that was totally disgusting. it was lumpy tomato soup not spicy at all with a very small piece of fish, two mussels 3 king prawns and a lobster claw swimming it. i had to get my fingers into the soup to fish out the muscles and prawns which were dry and not fresh tasting and there was no tool given to me to open the cray leg. by the time the matradee came to our table to explain her way through our nightmare of an evening all our food was cold and returned to the kitchen virtually uneaten. i do not recommend this as arestaurantto go to. it is well overpriced and the food is unpalatable which is a huge disappointment as the scenery from therestaurantis spectacular. what a total waste and such a shame that therestauranthas nose dived the way it has. it used to be one of the best, if not top 5 places to eat in napier.

dined here with fmy family and not overly impressed. i note with interest that therestauranthas had a bit of a revamp and so have the prices! when paying $33 or more a main i expect something special and i don't feel they delivered on this - the food was ok, certainly nothing special. also one waitress just a bit too coarse and casual for my liking.

my parents and i went here for the first time for dinner and it was incredible. the food was great, i especially loved the scallops. the salad was to die for and their beef wellington was really nice. everything was hot when it came out and the staff were friendly and didn't rush us or keep coming over. it was good and i personally think the food is worth the price. the wait time was normal for a busyrestaurantand the view was great!
all round it was a really nice dinner and ill definitely go back again when i'm in napier ! :)

first of all i wish i had never gone there in the first place, the service was an absolute joke, the staff acted as though they did not at all want to be working they had an attitude problem, when asked about the menu the waitress responded ' i'm to busy, just wait' what!!!! i have never in my life experienced such rude customer service, the meal was not at all great, it took a while for the our meals to come out. overall the worst experience ever!!!! do not dine at boardwalk, the staff are rude and the food not up torestaurantstandard.

we recently spent the weekend in napier and went out to dinner at boardwalk beachrestaurant& bar on the saturday night. the food was wonderful and service great. good location and easy to find. the waitress who looked after us was just lovely, in fact all the staff were friendly. meal was good value for money. i would definitely recommend this restaurant.

i see some low-star ratings in the past for this restaurant, but when i went with another couple with a 4yo boy it simply couldn't have been a better dining out.
the generously portioned entrees were all so very yummy (best pork ribs i've ever tasted, great calamari, chips, beautiful sauce on the prawn&chorizo skewers, bite-sized pork-belly yum yum)
then the fish (blue nose) main dish was cooked to perfection!!
so fresh ingredients and service met a high standard - this pl is more than what you'd normally expect out of a local city restaurant. plus it's right on the waterfront w a charming holiday-house feel interior. this is my favouriterestaurantin napier city so far.

a pleasant night it was dinning out at boardwalk, loved the meals cooked to perfection!!! i can not remember the last time i went out for dinner coming out satisfied, i enjoyed everything about boardwalk the service the meals and just the overall experience, i love going out for dinner now i have a favouriterestaurantto become a regular at! top marks to the chef that cooked our meals
