not worth it. i've been here several times because it's a trendy and popular place for my friends to meet but i always leave feeling frustrated. service is consistently horrible and they act like it's a hassle to have you in their restaurant. almost every time i've been there the sushi has been served on common plates and then it'll take another 20 minutes to get individual plates (after you had to ask because they weren't brought out). you end up just staring at your food for the majority of the time. good luck flagging a server down to refill your water or get another drink, i usually sit through the meal parched. i'm not sure if they're just severely understaffed or what's more likely from my experience, the servers are gossiping around the hostess stand.

the happyhourspecials are reasonable but regular prices are pretty high for mediocre sushi, and they won't split the check so you have to figure it out for yourself. if you don't know much about sushi you might think this is ok stuff but if you eat sushi regularly i wouldn't suggest it. my advice is: go to hiro. prices are a little higher but the sushi is much better and the service is fantastic. you'll get a quality experience for the price you pay.

amazing. happyhourwas perfect. great "american" twists on old time favorites. there are plenty of food choices and drinks for every taste. the sake martinis were delicious. personally, i had the philadelphia roll, blue balls, hawaiian roll, popper, and the mango-crab rangoon.

i recommend going for happyhourto limit cost. the service was okay but the food took a while to come out. the quality and the drinks were worth the wait. i came back for dinner and didn't care for the added price and the loud downstairs seating area.

blue happyhouris the best! they have fresh cucumber water and mango crab rangoon! the best part is... the rangoon and some of their best rolls are half off during happy hour. the seating can be annoying at times, but it always seems to be worth it!

my fav! can't beat the all day happyhourprices on a ton of the sushi on sunday's. i'm always excited to try something new there! service has been hit or miss as we usually go up to the sake bomber lounge but it's worth it for the sunday deal.

who would have thought one of the best restaurants in omaha nebraska would be a sushi establishment?!? this is one of my favorite restaurants to go to, especially with my friends on a night out. in my opinion they're happyhouris unbeatable, you get top-notch superb seafood amd sushi at bare minimum prices. i don't normally eat traditional sushi, i especially like blues americanized sushi versions such as the super asparagus and hot popper. i. i am also a big fan of their ceviche

disgusted with the way we were treated.. we have been going to blue since i moved to omaha 3 years ago. it was one of my favorite places for happyhouror to get dinner with friends when they came in town. after yesterday, i will never be back to their downtown location. we walked in with a party of 7 adults, a child, and a 3 month old. we chose to sit dowstairs and pay full price (even though they had happyhourall day upstairs). we ordered our apps and sushi rolls at the same time, as we had been there numerous times before and knew that sometimes there was a bit of a wait for items from the sushi bar. my father then checked in on facebook and tagged the rest of our group in the post. about a halfhourlater our lettuce wraps arrive. quite a bit later, we began to wonder where the rest of our food was. we checked facebook, and my father had checked in to blue, after we had ordered our food onehourand six minutes ago. it was then we asked to talk to a manager. about five minutes later a genntleman came up, holding our ticket, and asked what the problem was. if that wasn't insulting enough, as we were trying to explain why we were frustrated, he shrugged and actually walked away. at no point was , disrespectful, or loud. we were just simply trrying to point out that in the time we were waiting, three other tables had been sat, received their food, and paid while we were still waiting with our food. not only were we offered no explanation, other than "your ticket only shows a 36min ticket time" we weren't even afforded the courtesy of the manager listening to our complaint. i even had to follow the manager up to the sushi bar to request our tab for the 2 apps we had received, so we could pay, tip the server, and leave. it was at that point that he offered two $25 gift cards for a future visit. honestly, at that time it was too late to salvage things. we were a table who thought nothing of spending $200 on sushi (at full price), only to be completely disrespected by the manager. we left, went to another sushi place downtown, tipped well and left the 2 gift cards with our server as we will never be back to blue. i find it difficult to comprehend how owners of a an expanding restaurant concept (the multiple blue locations as well as plank) would allow management to treat their guests with such disrespect is beyond me. too bad, the food and drinks there are great.

not impressed. i had high expectations based on the rave reviews i had heard about blue. however, i don't think it lives up to the hype. my party of 5 was told there was a 45 min wait so we decided to walk around the old market to waste time. we were pleasantly surprised when we received a text that our table was ready after only about 15 min, not too bad considering it was still happy hour. we sat upstairs and our order was taken right away. and then we waited and waited and waited. the food took way too long for the amount we ordered. the sushi was good but not great. i would have been disappointed had we paid full price but with the happyhourpricing, it wasn't too bad. we ordered the blue balls, philadelphia roll, crunchy la, crunchy blue, spicy sake, and crab rangoon. i am no sushi expert, but i was not a huge fan of any of the rolls i tried. all of the sauces seemed way too sweet for my taste. even the crab rangoon was sweet with some mango flavor. i definitely prefer other sushi restaurants, especially considering there are 3 others within walking distance.

love the weekend happyhourmenu. i recently moved to omaha, and i've been here twice for their 10:30pm weekend happyhourmenu. i loved it both times. martinis for $5.50, sushi rolls for $5 and more. i personally love the strawberry margatini and the hawaiian roll. the servers i've had are not only excellent, attentive and warm, they were also quite good looking. i haven't had anything close to a bad experience here, and i'll probably return often.

their happyhouris very reasonable and has plenty of options for people having a preference on cooked or raw fish. don't expect traditional japanese rolls here as they use a lot of spice and sauces. however, the quality is good and their prices are easy on the wallet.

go for the drinks, not the sushi. i think that the only merit in the blue chains is that they have a pretty decent happyhourdrinks, and it's open late, and on sundays. their drinks are decent and the atmophere can be fun, although i think sometimes it feels like they are trying too hard to be a "cool" bar/restaurant. i think, while i would say it can be a fun place to go for happy hour/reverse happy hour, their food is pretty lame, especially the sushi.

if you're going there for happyhourdrinks, then it won't disappoint, but their sushi is by far some of the most poorly prepared in omaha. it seems like because they have enough people coming through their doors for happy hour, they don't spend time creating high quality sushi.

if you are going to happyhourto get sushi, your money would be better spent at other sushi places with better sushi and similar happyhourdeals (aka matsu, sakura bana)

those who remark that their sushi is awesome probably haven't had sushi at many other places. while they have a few fun rolls, they definitely don't make anything that reaches the flavor level of other establishments in omaha. i would recommend sakura bana or matsu if you're looking for great, authentic sushi prepared with care.

at happyhourupstairs. its not too crowded but both the drink and food service has been really slow. sweet potato fries are delicious with a spicy curry mayonaise, even tho its cold and it seems to have sat out a while- tnt roll is strange and we dont want to finish it. happyhourspecials- crunchy blue was good, tan roll was inoffensive but boring.
