blossom was decent food but fairly overpriced and with poor service. the waiter took a long time to take our drink orders, waited too long to return to take appetizer and entree orders, and was slow to refill drinks as well. he also completely forgot to enter one appetizer and entered an entree incorrectly which caused one person in the party to receive their meal 3-4 minutes after everyone else.
the food was decent but nothing spectacular. our group shared raw oysters and fried calamari; both were pretty standard and nothing to rave about. i ordered the carolina mountain trout, which was cooked nicely but lacked any significant flavor. the crawfish and lima bean succotash accompanying it was nothing to rave about either, and i was not a fan of the tomato remoulade sauce. all in all the food was average, theservicewas mediocre, and i would recommend other restaurants in the area over blossom.

had dinner saturday night with the family at blossoms.  this was our first time going there but won't be the last.  theservicewas excellent, very friendly and professional.  the food was excellent and the best we have had in a long time.  the presentation of the food was so pleasing to the eye.  the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer was excellent.  all of us ordered something different and everyone was very pleased with their dinner.  excellent food, excellent service, and excellent ambiance.  definitely a favorite of ours.

wine snafu ruined my experience. the food was excellent, ambiance nice, and theservicefirst rate. unfortunately, i left with a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. i asked if they had a house chardonnay. they did, but when we got the bill, it was $11 a glass. the most expensive wine on the menu. i had 2 glasses. the menu at our b&b said the house wine was $5 a glass. won't be back.

celebrating great memories with a great meal. blossom is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown charleston. the menu is great, the food is absolutely delicious, and theserviceis fantastic.

my grandfather recently passed away. he and the rest of my family always made a big deal of birthdays, so when his came on august 12, i decided to celebrate rather than spend a sad night in. my husband and i went to blossom, and i found comfort celebrating the life of this wonderful man at a restaurant that he would have loved.

i had the mahi special, which was beyond fabulous (flaky and meaty at the same time), served over a risotto that was a perfect complement. for dessert, my husband and i split the southern sundae, and i just have no words to describe it. i dream about that dessert. paps would have approved. :-)

place needs a coat of paint. we have eaten lunch here on many occasions and always enjoy the food. we were there again this week and it was not too busy. we started noticing how run down blossom is on the interior. the center bench seating is ripped in many places and the base of it is like a velvet so always is covered in crumbs, and the hostess always stands back and lets me brush it down. the fabric just seems old, and looks like it is falling apart. the raised ceiling with beams is really cool, but really dirty and looks dusty. it really needs painting. theserviceas always was fantastic. friendly and prompt. we were dissapointed to watch the manager who was on duty take a clean napkin and wipe a table down with it and reset it. she used no cleaning/sanitizing fluid. kind of grossed us out! it just seems an overhaul is needed on everything. the menu never seems to change, the pendant lights are very 90's, the light fixtures seem out of date. maybe the tourist trade keeps them busy enough, but for a local i like my restaurant decor to be as up to date as the food.

wonderful. i have only eaten at blossom for lunch, and my husband and i both love it every time we go. just visited again today, and i had the mahi taco's and my husband had the blt. both great, and very well priced. we both love their house label chardonnay. great dining room, bright and airy, looking over their patio, that is a pleasure to sit on in the cooler weather. highly recommend it.

a must do!. we were told to avoid this place because it was a 'tourist trap', but i read reviews and they were good so i took a chance - and i was so glad i did! we went for dinner. my boyfriend had the steamed mussels and they were tender and seasoned perfectly. he had a shrimp dish for dinner and loved it. being a vegetarian, i had the mushroom risotto and was in heaven! we had no room for dessert. i also enjoyed the white wine sangria - in the 90+ degree heat, this was light and refreshing. we loved it so much we went back the next day for lunch. my boyfriend had the calamari (loved it) and a pizza which was tasty! i had the breaded artichokes and they had a great flavor.servicewas excellent both for lunch & dinner. you won't be disappointed here!

good food blossoms here. i've eaten at blossom twice. once inside and once out.serviceand food were solid each time.

we found the menu and food equally stimulating. tasty dishes abound. a positive experience start to finish each time except ... the crusty older couple seated nearby who indignantly sent back their seared fish twice with the complaint that it was ... undercooked. the server could have said, "that's kind of the point, but if you want the kitchen to ruin it, they can," and been justified, but he was much nicer than that.

we like the blossom, and their deliciously undercooked fish.

reliable dining spot. i usually like to try a place at least twice before i do a review so now blossom deserves a good one. excellentserviceand some great dishes blended with some lowcountry and southern favorites. we had a big group for my second time at blossom and everyone enjoyed their food. atmosphere is outstanding. although the bar is a little small and narrow, the main dining room is very spacious. the fish entrees can hold their own versus any of the top resturants in town and the pork and beef dishes are well prepared. blossom is a good spot.

great>>>exceptional service!. on vacation my gf and i ate here for a romantic dinner which was absolutely the best. theservicewas top notch from the moment we walked in to the time we left out. the manager was great very friendly and the waiter who was a male was so on point! 5 stars.....check out the food which was great too from the pictures....we got dessert on the house from the manager which was unbelivable because i wanted to order the exact thing to eat as a sweet.

very nice. we had lunch there and took advanatage of the "dine for $9." i had the roasted chicken with vegetables, which was really good, but the potatoes surpassed the chicken and broccoli. my husband had the turkey sandwich, which he enjoyed. the salad was very simple with only field greens and tomatoes. theservicewas outstanding, except for the hostess, who could have been a little more congenial. although the door was open, she still asked us to wait so she could see if they (staff) were ready. if the door's open, you should be ready and not even imply that to the customer, especially when that is the first impression. i must also mention that the outdoor dining terrace was lovely!
