blossom was decent food but fairly overpriced and with poor service. the waiter took a long time to take our drink orders, waited too long to return to take appetizer and entree orders, and was slow to refill drinks as well. he also completely forgot to enter one appetizer and entered an entree incorrectly which caused one person in the party to receive their meal 3-4 minutes after everyone else.
the food was decent but nothing spectacular. our group shared raw oysters andfriedcalamari; both were pretty standard and nothing to rave about. i ordered the carolina mountain trout, which was cooked nicely but lacked any significant flavor. the crawfish and lima bean succotash accompanying it was nothing to rave about either, and i was not a fan of the tomato remoulade sauce. all in all the food was average, the service was mediocre, and i would recommend other restaurants in the area over blossom.

love the outdoor seating. i had the fish tacos. while tasty, a bit heavier than i would have excepted.friedtortilla, friedfish with cheese sauce. i couldn't even eat both. next time i will have something else. the fries with the rosemary seasoning were really good.

i wish i was more impressed with blossom than i am.  last couple of times have been disappointed.  it's not that the place is dirty or poorly run (it's beautiful), or that the wait staff are bad (in my experience, they're great), but the food just seems overprices (but it's downtown chs, so what should i expect?!).  went there most recently with spouse, 2 kids (3 and 6) and in-law.  it's great that an upmarket restaurant caters to kids (provided crayons and coloring paper, as well as a child-specific menu).   and i'm not sure whether to be grateful or upset that they seated us next to a table of 6 inebriated and extremely noisy older adults who really should have had a private room rather than deafening me.  but the biggest disappointment was the food.  my "fall salad" was over-dressed and my shrimp and grits over-seasoned.  (and what possible excuse is there for inadequate shrimp and grits in charleston?!)  my mil made all the appropriately southern-belle-like noises but barely touched her (trout special) entree, and my spouse wasn't even impressed with thefriedchicken (but maybe it had been a food-stuffed and long day already...).  my kids, on the other hand, loved their food (hamburger and really good fries, and basic but very yummy cheese pizza). in any event, will likely avoid blossom in favor or the myriad other new and new-to-me restaurants until somebody pushes me to return...

had dinner saturday night with the family at blossoms.  this was our first time going there but won't be the last.  the service was excellent, very friendly and professional.  the food was excellent and the best we have had in a long time.  the presentation of the food was so pleasing to the eye.  thefriedgreen tomatoes as an appetizer was excellent.  all of us ordered something different and everyone was very pleased with their dinner.  excellent food, excellent service, and excellent ambiance.  definitely a favorite of ours.

we went to blossom for lunch mid-week with two children and the food was delicious. i had the buttermilkfriedflounder sandwich and my husband had the mahi mahi fish tacos. both entrees were very tasty. we also loved the fresh bread and sweet butter brought to the table while we waited for our food. they offer a kids menu and our children got the kids pizzas that were quite large and cooked in their brick oven. there was no wait and the atmosphere was relaxing. blossom is a must-eat-at while in charleston!

very good. i have eaten here a few times now and it has always been a good experience. the duck confit sandwich was delicious and the rosemary fries were a pleasant surprise. i've also ordered fish that was cooked to perfection and tried one of theirfriedshrimp which was the best i've had in a long time. the menu is certainly more interesting than many of the restaurants in the area.
