we had great dining experience in black orchid. the resto bar is located at first floor. good crowd, nice ambience and insta worthy interior! the music was not too loud.

the best part is service. the staffs made us comfortable and service was super fast . coming to food, spicy salmon sushi and kunafi prawn were smaller in size. i reallylovedthe grilled beef tenderloin with rosemary jus. it was so chewy and delicious. the cini stick mocktail (sugar cane base) was interesting. there is not much variety on menu but available items were really good. i felt that price could have been on lower side. the food quality was top notch. nice place to hangout with friends on saturday night.

where do we start?
the ambience is really subtle and serene.
with not too much lightings, the orange hue lamps gives us a really subtle feeling.
probably the best service i have ever had. they make sure the crowd is well maintained and satisfied till the end. absolutelylovedthe staffs and their efforts.
not just this, their food was amazing.
i started with a indian spiced paneer skewers with mint chutney and cheese garlic bread.lovedthe skewers and the way it was cooked.
i usually don't prefer mocktails anywhere, but this place was an exception and they really killed it.
i had a mocktail called berry and basil (with yogurt, berry and some basil flavours onto it) which i would say 5/5. the best mocktail i have ever had and highly recommended.
main course was thai red curry and penne pink sauce pasta.
thai red curry is one another highly recommended dish.
i would suggest this place a 5/5 for their food, service and the hospitality.
not to forget their owner, a banker turned restauranteur sanjeev verma. can't thank you enough for taking your time to explain about the unheard new teppanyaki and the place.

this is a damn good place for you to have few drinks and a casual conversation with a friend and also to go on a date.

air conditioning was not that great. may be it was due to the live station in the ground floor, but for this the ambience was elegant covered mostly in black.

food was good but not great. i ordered mostly from continental section and the the chicken breasts which were completely dry and inedible. the chickens wings also was not that great, the texture was inconsistent. ilovedthe cocktails though.

definitely would go back again and try again and this time order japanese food.

black orchid sent these delicious dishes for reviewing and i was thrilled because i've heard the place and food is quite impressive from many of my friends. i must say i couldn't click pictures patiently because the aroma from the food was killing me and my patience haha. anyways, their packaging was practical and sturdy. food looked great, and they tasted brilliant. what ilovedthe most was their cottage cheese quesadilla and the udon veg noodles. also if you're a sushi fanatic, you'll love that too. overall such an outstanding place to rely on if you want some quality asian food. i personally don't prefer asian, but food from black orchid definitely brought a change to that. do try this place guy you'll be impressed too.

i love black. the place had black decor which ilovedand black themed one. ilovedeverything about the place.

the good we ordered was amazing too,
- chicken quesadillas were amazing,
- murgh masala and pulao, ilovedit,
- pork sausage in a sweet and spicy sauce - wasn’t upto the mark,
- caramelised milk cheesecake was amazing.

ilovedthe place and i do want to give 5 stars for this place but, the manager i think was rude. he was a bit rude and not willing to do what the customer because they had the crowd coming. they concentrate on bigger crowd, which i feel is not so good. so i hope some of the people working there should have basic etiquette in some of the customers needs like allowing them to sit in the place they want when no one else is coming. on the other hand, there are some other people who treated us good. i would just like to say that, please treat the customers good, if you some seat is reserved, tell us politely, instead of saying no rudely.

apart from this, i liked the place. cheers.

📍super approachable spot and a well traffic regulated locality with ample parking space to start with.

was scantily populated weekday evening, the entrance and interiors scream bespoke , elite.

the place has 2 levels with a sushi and teppanyaki on the entrance and cocktail 🍸🍹 lounge bar on the floor above.

the seating is spacious and comfortable with ambient lighting. there's courteous and helpful staff to light up the place better and help you with the menu if need be.

no they didn't pay me to tell this ! i actuallylovedthe place and so did my friend !

was here to try their newly curated japanese menu. first thing firstlovedtheir ambience and the vibe and definitely goes into my list of resto bars with really good ambiance, especially the tappanyaki which is live the live cooking station.

we started off with yeshai salad which is kinda similar to the caesar salad but with a japanese crunch and twist to it and ordered a two mocktails , the grandma punch which is guava based mocktail and a highly recommended one and the second one was the cini stick mojito which is sugarcane based mojito which also tasted good. for starters we had the crispy california sushi which is well tucked with crab sticks , avocado, cucumber sticks and tanoki which all together went really well with soy sauce and the wasabi. chicken in teriyaki sauce is my personal favourite over and hands down to one of the best teriyaki chicken i've had in recent times, it is served along with a bowl of sticky rice or noodles but i'd recommend the noodles cuz even that tasted amazing. we also tried panko crumb fried prawns which had the perfect crisp on the outside with all the seasoning and the tender prawn meat on the inside.
we ended our meal with the brownie and the ice cream which comes along with their japanese set menu.

overall a really good restobar with a well curated japanese set menu which teppayanki grill is definitely a thumbs up for me

writing a review after months!! thanks to covid!
after such a long break, i decided to go out for a meal (off course i took all precautions). chose to visit black orchid to check out their set lunch menu that includes delicious sushi (after so many positive reviews). i should say i was not disappointed.lovedthe quick fresh salad. the california roll and kakiage maki were just yummy! for mains we had veggies toasted in garlic butter and chicken in teriyaki sauce along with sticky rice and noodles.lovedevery bit of it.
also very impressed by the hygienic environment they maintain and all the safety measure they have taken! felt safe dining here on the whole.

the ambience is really amazing consisting of two floor with the live shushi preparation in the ground floor and a bar at the top floor. i had an amazing experience here , the food was lovely , a great place to come with friends as the quantity and quality is wonderful. i had a shrimp lover shushi and a mutton starter and the taste was really wonderful. as for the drinks i had mocktails and finished it with alfredo pasta and brownie with ice cream. reallylovedit here and would love to visit once again.

was there last night, all the necessary safety norms have been taken care of perfectly. the place is done up so well, super spacious - has 3 floors - super posh and amazing seatings. they have kept the menu really limited due to the ongoing pandemic ! for starters we went two types of maki rolls - my all time favourite - crispy californian maki and the shrimp lover. both the rolls were perfect and presented very neatly. surprisingly i love the shrimp one more - the addition of mayo gave it a cheesy output, totallylovedit. the addition of tanoki in crispy californian maki gave crackly and dry outer layer, which didn't work with me so well. then we had oak ratafia - oh ! it was a treat to both eyes and taste buds ! just too good, a must try drink when you are here ! from teppanyaki we had tenderloin with teriyaki sauce and chicken in butter garlic. i must say the staff really know their menu so well and they give the perfect recommendations ! the tenderloin was super tender and juicy - the sauce was lick worthy ! another must try dish. on the other hand the chicken dish lacked the punch of garlic !fish and chips was as usual a hit, the two dips went really well with the fries and fish ! for main course we went for penne pasta with chicken in parmesan cheese - this was again u er good - lots of yumm veggies, the sauce was super creamy and the pasta was cooked al dente just the way i love it ! would definitely recommend this place for the amazing service, food and drinks !

from the minute i entered the place , till i left, the staffs made sure i felt as comfortable as possible. the hospitality was just great.
the place is two-tired, with live screening, bar and a nice view on the top floor and live shushi counter in the lower floor. i can't stress this enough, but the ambience is just so welcoming, warm and ritzy.
i personallylovedtheir veg shushi , probably one of the very few places where you can try amazing veg sushi in chennai . it was so perfect and i literally gobbled an entire plate of it :d
their lotus stem and veggies tossed in garlic sauce were also absolutely delicious starters. i tried penne alfredo for main course and it was one of the best pasta i've had . perfectly cooked , creamy and juicy .
finished the meal with their fudgy brownie with vanilla icecream.
